Chapter 5 - Chapter 2: Summoned (part 2)

After a moment, they left the inn and walked as the eyes of the townspeople fixed upon that being who had color. After a short while, they arrived at a shop with a fine façade. A woman let out a sharp scream upon seeing Uriel.

"Calm down, ma'am, this young man is with me, and I assure you he's not a bad person. He's only here to buy some clothes, he's a traveler."

"So that's what it was, you nearly gave me a heart attack... and what are you looking for?"

So Uriel asked if she had clothes in his size. She told him she had many kinds of clothing, and even a new type of garment for men with the peculiarity of being magical, it could easily adapt to the user's body, very versatile for species that change in size.

—That's really interesting. Actually, that suits me perfectly. Now that I think about it, I was lucky that the skill "Physical Body Manipulation" remained even after I was unconscious. I suppose it's because I still had my MP.

Then Uriel asked for one of the magical garments, and the woman left happily. He noticed the girl who accompanied him was looking at a hair ribbon with great excitement, it was obvious she wanted it.

The shopkeeper returned with three different designs and colors. The designs were quite interesting; they looked like adventurer's outfits. He wanted to try one that caught his attention, black pants and a long-sleeved black shirt, along with boots and a black cloak. It seemed like very versatile clothing since it didn't draw much attention.

He also bought regular clothes for sleeping; altogether it cost him 410 gold coins, with the magical clothes alone costing 400 gold. It was very expensive.

Additionally, he bought the ribbon for the girl and gave it to her as thanks for accompanying him to the store. At first, she refused a little, but she had no choice but to accept. She was very happy and put it on immediately.

—What a shame, if it had colors, it would look even better.

Uriel then asked the girl if she knew where weapons were sold swords or similar things and she led him to a place not far from there, telling him that this was where the best weapons in the town were made. The blacksmith was a man of great experience and even held the title "Lord of the Forge."

Upon arrival, there was a huge man hammering steel. His back was broad and well-built. When he noticed their presence, he stopped hammering and turned around.

The girl greeted him cheerfully, waving her hand...

"Hello, Mr. Higram."

"So it's you, Mila. What brings such a charming young lady here today?"

"I came to find a weapon for this young man."

Higram turned his gaze toward Uriel, gripping his hammer, and his expression grew somber.

"Is this your friend?"

"Yes, sir. He saved us from a Storm Gorilla that appeared while we were gathering herbs in the forest. Also, he wanted to come to the town."

"Mhm, I see... so you're looking for a weapon. What kind of weapon interests you, boy?"

"I'd like something very durable and capable of withstanding magic."

"In that case, you're looking for a magic sword. I have several. What's your attribute?"

"I... have all attributes, sir."

"What? All attributes... HAHAHAHA! That's truly surprising. In all my years of life, I've never seen anything like that. In that case, I don't think anything I have here would suit you."

Uriel couldn't help but feel disappointed right away, he really wanted a sword, and he knew he would need one soon.

"In that case, I'll have to forge one for you myself."

Then Higram picked up his enormous hammer.

"What...? You'll make one for me? I'm truly grateful, sir, it's just that right now I don't have much time."

"Seems like you don't know who you're talking to, boy. I am the legendary master of the forge, Higram."

That man then went into another part of the workshop and returned with some very interesting materials. Using Sage's Eye, Uriel was able to examine them, they were all excellent, especially one called Peronite, a very strong and rare mineral. So he suggested using it as the base for the blade. Then Higram told him to come closer and give part of his concentrated magic, in order to synchronize the future weapon with his abilities and magical attributes. This way, the weapon would reach a state of growth synchronized with Uriel's own.

Higram began striking the mineral with his great hammer. Every strike released sparks, and Uriel could notice that each hit "consumed MP."

Higram was a powerful magical blacksmith with abilities specifically related to forging, so his magic and skills were connected to his thoughts, allowing him to shape and imbue the weapons with whatever properties he envisioned, or at least that's how Uriel perceived it.

About an hour passed, and finally, Higram finished the weapon.

"While I was forging it, I ran into a problem. A simple sword wouldn't be enough to contain all your magical potential. So I was thinking about what kind of weapon I should make for you that would be just as useful as a sword. So I made this... Behold, my masterpiece..."

It was a long, sharp scythe. Its grip was very comfortable and could easily be used with one or two hands. It looked magnificent. When he handed it to Uriel, he noticed it was very heavy to lift it, one would need around 350 strength points. Higram must be incredibly strong if he can wield it. The scythe looked beautiful, truly amazing. Its finishes were intricate, and it had a gorgeous black color.

"This is truly a fine weapon, Mr. Higram. I think I'll keep it."

—Although honestly, I had already gotten used to fighting with my horn... By the way, where's my horn? Has anyone seen my little horn?

Uriel asked how much the scythe cost, and Higram told him it was 3500 gold, his masterpiece. It really was. With Sage's Eye, Uriel examined it and confirmed it was worth it a Mythical-grade scythe, one he could even name. It was indeed a good investment. He paid Higram and left the shop with the girl, telling the man he would return one day.

Uriel was somewhat excited, he finally had proper clothes and a decent weapon, though he still missed his horn.

They returned to the inn where the old man was. Uriel wanted to stop by to say goodbye and thank him for the money. Everyone was surprised by the purchases he had made. The young man from before became interested in the scythe, and Uriel allowed him to take a look. So he picked it up... Uriel had forgotten about the weight, but to his surprise, the young man handled it easily, swinging it with no problem. This astonished him, so he decided to check the man's stats.

They were very high for a human, even his individual classification was higher than the others'. He was the first S-rank being Uriel had met besides himself. Then the old man, noticing his surprise, explained that he was the main guardian of the town... Antoine Vegar, Guardian of Hukure Village.

—I suppose that justifies his strength.

Then Uriel finally said his goodbyes and left the town, heading toward the forest. He thought about getting as far away from the town as possible to avoid something attacking them as it had happened to his brothers.

He decided to start flying once he entered the forest to create distance quickly. Hours passed, and he began encountering monsters in the forest. However, he could easily cut them down with his scythe.

Uriel stopped for a moment in a clearing within the forest. There was a small stream, so he decided to drink some water and rest a bit while sitting on a rock, waiting for Chrom's minions.

Until, after some time...

//Danger

A horde of beings has been detected. They intend to eliminate a story Cherubim Uriel.

—So those are the enemies this time. Their stats are lower than mine, also thanks to my debuff skills that reduce my enemies' capabilities.

Then he prepared himself, and in an instant, his surroundings were filled with Goblins... This time, the World Deity had sent Goblins.

"From the species ranking, I know Goblins are among the most powerful species in this world, with a classification around Rank A. But now my power is greater due to my current strength and the effects of my weakening skills. However, they have the numerical advantage."

Uriel took his scythe and rose from the rock in an attacking stance, and thus began the fierce battle... Uriel, S-Rank, versus 1000 A-Rank Goblins.
