Chapter 7 - Chapter 2: Summoned (part 4)

From somewhere in the heavens, an invisible figure shouted in disbelief to himself.

"What is this? It can't be! What did you do? Explain it to me!"

Uriel pointed his Scythe at the firmament and said in a calm voice:

"Now it's your turn, worthless god."

[Prince of Greed].

Trex's body began to shine, then beams of energy came out of his body and turned into small black orbs that were absorbed by Uriel's hand. His essence, his power, his experience... all became part of his being.

Thus the battle ended:

The battle had ended, but the conflict had just begun.

The gaze of Chrom, invisible yet tangible, pierced through Uriel. He had defied him. And now, he knew it was real. That it wouldn't be so easy to get rid of him. Because for the first time since becoming the god of this world... Chrom felt threatened, he felt fear.

"My stats increased tremendously, I owe you for that, Trex. Though that last view was terrifying. The effect of the Poison Blade skill is horrifying, and now it's leveled up. I suppose it's even more lethal now."

—What a peculiar skill...

Uriel left that place and began his journey, leaving behind the battlefield. The remaining Goblins had been completely destroyed by Trex's attacks, so there was absolutely no one left. Uriel continued along the road for a while, making occasional stops.

Meanwhile, Chrom manifested through a vortex of clouds and light in the sky above the great cities. He showed altered images and falsified dialogues where he presented Uriel as an evil villain who sought to destroy the world. In his message, he called upon his faithful to protect the world, declaring that Uriel had killed the great Trex, the Primordial Fairy.

In the recording, the "Cherubim" could be heard saying that he would destroy all species blessed by Chrom. They also showed the manipulated scene where he brutally attacked the Storm Gorilla. The crowd went mad, furious at such images.

Chrom then gave a solemn and powerful speech. With a voice almost broken by sorrow, he spoke of Trex as the purest hero, the savior of countless souls, the friend of all peoples. He recalled his brave deeds, his sincere smiles, his sacrifices.

The crowd wept as they saw images of the hero falling, bathed in blood, while Uriel smiled wickedly.

In every village, city, and kingdom, a single cry could be heard: "For Trex! For the peace of the world!"

Chrom closed with a phrase that burned fire into their hearts:

"Trex did not die. Trex gave us his colors to ignite the flame of new heroes. This world will not fall... because all of you have risen."

The effect of his words was intensified by his Deceiver skill, which manipulated the minds of those who heard him, making them believe his words.

He also showed manipulated scenes where Uriel fought against Groll and was accompanied by colorless humans, claiming that the colorless beings had allied themselves with this new Demon King, further increasing the hatred toward the colorless and sparking a war between both sides.

Soon rumors began to spread throughout the lands of an evil Cherubim who had even defeated the very Primordial Fairy and Hero Trex.

Chrom also gathered some of the most powerful beings of his world, forming what appeared to be a personal army, whom he ordered to remain there awaiting the arrival of the evil Cherubim.

Then he walked away and sat on his throne, saying:

"I must stop him before I become the mockery of the gods of other worlds."

Uriel, after days of travel, arrived at a city besieged by colorful beings, everything seemed in flames and magical powers were flying back and forth amidst the battle, there was a great wall being defended by colorless beings, among whom there were also humans.

"What is going on? I'd better get out of he..."

"Hey! That one over there! It's the incarnation of the Demon King!"

Shouted one of the colored beings who had seen Uriel. Immediately, all the attackers turned toward him.

"Demon, you'll die by my hand, and I'll earn the favor of our Lord."

Another of those present spoke to the one apparently called Kimal.

"Don't rush in, Kimal. We must call the Cardinal."

"Right, I'll leave it to you then. I'll hold him off. Go and call the Cardinal yourself."

"Alright, Kimal, but don't forget that this demon killed the hero Trex. Don't hold back and don't get careless."

"What the hell is going on? Who are all these people? What did you do now, worthless god?"

"Let me introduce myself, Evil Cherubim. I am Kimal, leader of the Heroic Paladins of the Northern Church and servant of Cardinal Fenas of our Kingdom. Let me tell you, I admired Trex since childhood... and you murdered him, villain."

"Villain? I was only defending myself."

[Brighter Light]

Kimal covered himself with armor of light that fitted over the physical armor he already wore and began to attack. But Uriel easily dodged his blows. Uriel's counterattack was so strong that Kimal was sent flying.

"Seriously, was that all?"

The others hesitated. However, a ray of light fell upon Kimal, and he stood up again, wrapped in divine grace.

"Do not fear, I'm still alive and our Lord is with us. Forward!"

Pillars of light descended upon the colorful warriors.

"So you're desperate, Chrom. I accept this. Watch me finish off your lackeys."

He began to fight against all the beings in the area; it was very easy despite most of them being Rank S and a few Rank A.
