' You're joking… ' He thought as he looked at the sleeping man. ' Do I wake him or to I let him sleep? '
"Now why do I have a level 17 in my office" the man said, still layed on the couch.
"I'd like to sign up for the adventurers guild, sir." Klyde responded.
"With that level you're just better off playing with the frost beasts. You don't sound like anyone here. Let me guess, a traveler with no money and nothing else to do?" He sighed. "'Cause you won't last a week."
The man then got off the couch and walked up to a drawer, talking out some form papers and a quil with a gold tip. "Sit down and let's get this over with." He said as he sat down and Klyde sat opposite to him.
"First off, what do know about ranks?"
"I don't have any knowledge about i-"
"Classes?" He cut him off. "Magic? Dungeons? Do you even have any monster hunting experience? Considering your level I'd say little to none. The least you could've done is study about these things."
"I apologize for my lack of knowledge sir."
"I should just kick you out of my office." He sighed and handed him a contract and quill. "Just sign that contract and you'll be registered. If you end up dying early, you only have yourself to blame."
Klyde took the contract and quill then read it. The contract stated that there's a 7 day free trail then membership fees 5 silver per month. An adventurer must complete at least 2 tasks within 2 weeks or pay an extra fee. It also said that once can't claim quests that are 2 ranks above them. And after reading the contract he then signed it and handed it to Anders.
"Give me your gard." Anders said, reaching his hand out. Klyde placed the card on his hand and Anders let it go mid air, leaving it floating.
He closed his eyes motioned his hands around it in a circular pattern as the card started to glow. His hands then came to an abrupt stop and the card dropped down and stopped glowing. Though now it was black and had a bronze border around it, displaying a new stat, class [Undefined].
Anders slid the card across the table to Klyde, saying "Take the card and get out."
Klyde picked up the card and stood up to leave the room, but stopped as 2 tabs opened in front of him.

"Huh? New quests at This time?" He looked at the screens. ' Complete a task from the guild and reach rank silver. The first one is D class so it should be relatively easy. But the second one… '
Anders raised an eyebrow at him. "The heck are mumbling about. I said get out of my office. Or do you want lethal force?"
"No, sir. Apologize." He said, immediately closed the system and walked out the door.
He let out a sigh of relief as he stepped out the door, and the guild attendant glared at him.
"Are you gonna get a quest or what, Mr hotshot." She asked, raising an eyebrow and pointing at the board besides him.
Klyde turned his head towards the board and walked up to it. The board has different papers for different quests, each showing a black and white illustration, the rank required, recommended level and the payment. And then a quest caught his eye.
The illustration showed a wolf similar to the ones he had killed yesterday as well as what looked like a rock.

' So monsters have cores in them, huh? Seeing that it specifies the size that means the cores can be different sizes. I could've had 6 if I knew this earlier. And the recommended level is 30 but I somehow beat 6 by myself as a level 14. Whatever=. I guess they won't be that hard. '
He took the paper for the quest and handed it to the guild attendant.
"I'd like to do this quest, pease." Klyde said to her.
"Oh, core collection. Hmmm, you sure about that one? I mean ascended ones are really dangerous." Asked the guild attendant
"Certain." Klyde responded. ' Ascended? '
"Okay then, I'll put it to your name." She took the quest paper, playing it under the deception desk. "Just don't die, k? Complete the quest in 5 days or I'll remove it from your name plus a week ban."
"Understood." He nodded and left the guild.
Klyde was now walking through the main road, going to town entrance.
' She said the Ascended ones are dangerous. That means I have to fight ones far stronger than the ones from yesterday. I'm not even sure how much 70 Silver is. And the quests from the system… '

He then closed the system and continued walking, leaving the town.
