Now l will use up my last days here on mastering how to use magic power and my physical state". Being granted the title of mage is a completely different story . Mages are born not created. Normally, only people born with magical abilities could wield magic. Thane was not aware of this law because he has been accomplishing skills like mana manipulation referring to his knowledge when he was a demon. That law did not have any effect because every demon has magic power depending on the level of intelligence.
"Resonance, the synchronization of one's internal energy or frequency with the external energies or frequencies of the environment. It's akin to a drop of water merging with the rhythm of a flowing stream, becoming one with the current". As Thane briefly said merging the external frequency with his own internal frequency into one, seems easy right .
Thane's journey to master resonance begins with meditation, as he seeks to calm his mind and focus his energy. He sits cross-legged on the mountain's peak, eyes closed, breathes deeply, feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat slow to a gentle pulse. As he meditates, Thane practices visualization techniques, imagining his internal energy resonating with the external environment. He pictures the trees, the wind, and the earth itself humming with a gentle vibration, and he seeks to synchronize his own energy with this mystical frequency.
"It's been three days and I still have not been able to synchronize my internal energy with the one around me. This is proving to be harder than l thought, am l missing something". While holding his chin. "Manipulating mana was not that troublesome than trying to transcend to the class of mage, or maybe this body of mine is broken somehow or somewhere". As you can imagine, Thane was on a standstill. "I have tried everything so what's wrong". With anger he shouted releasing an eerie energy. "This body has no sign of it having a defect or a damage part. Now, six days have already passed since l started unifying resonance". Thane spoke while standing up, his body was getting thin due to the continuous stress, lack of sleep and food for thirteen days in the mountains. It was like trying to solve a hard puzzle blindfolded! Thane's determination and perseverance was starting to wane, but as you know, hard work always pays off. At the same time, Thane started to see them, for so long he waited but to no avail. "Nodes", he spoke faintly. His face and the surrounding environment included were glancing in a sort of dust like light luminating. In fact the whole top of the mountain was in a sparkling trance. Certain people could see the light from a distance down the mountain. It was beautiful. With a fierce smile hinging on Thane's face, he knew all that wasn't in vein after all, while descending the mountain.
Thane descended the mountain, his feet carrying him towards the village at the foot of the mountain. The sparkling trance that enveloped the mountain peak was now a distant memory, but the sense of accomplishment still lingered within him and to think Thane had finally grasped the concept of resonance, quite an accomplishment indeed.
As he entered the village, Thane's eyes scanned the thatched roofs and the bustling streets. He had been away for thirteen days, and the village seemed to have changed. "Should l go see Gorin, l would really like to peek on the weapon his making" Thane thought. People were going about their daily business and some were kinda putting a distance away from him while covering their noses. Yes, it's exactly what you think. He was as stinky as a fish that died caused by lack of water. The sun had just set, It was now evening. " Oh, l did make it. Looks like l can actually use these memories like they were my own". Thane had arrived at the inn.
As Thane pushed open the creaky door, a warm glow of firelight and the murmur of hushed conversations spilled out into the evening air. He stepped inside, his eyes adjusting to the dim light within. The inn's common room was cozy, with a fire crackling in the hearth and a handful of patrons scattered about. A few of them looked up as Thane entered, their faces a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Thane noted most seemed to be locals, farmers and craftsmen who had come to the inn for a warm meal and some company. Thane's scent, a mix of sweat and tears of his overwhelming hard work wafted into the room ahead of him. Their faces expressionless. Thane ignored them, his gaze sweeping the room as he searched for the innkeeper.
A stout woman with a wild mane of curly hair and a warm smile stood behind the bar, polishing a mug with a white apron. She looked up as Thane approached. " Hello, how can l help you youngie" the innkeeper spoke. "Youngie", Thane thought swerving his head a bit. "Isn't he from the orphanage, is he lost somehow" the innkeeper thought. "Incorrect, I'm not lost ma'am, l'm here to book a room for one night" Thane uttered. With a smile on her face, " oh, how did you know that was what l was thinking" curiously she asked". "That's easy, your body language was saying otherwise, and l guessed the most appropriate thought you would probably think at this moment" a bit faster than he usually talks, Thane replied. The innkeeper started to laugh. "I thought you were some kind of a young adventurer rookie with awesome mind reading powers or so" whilst punching the air. "Ah, adventurer, is it a resistant force of humans tasked to fight the demons" Thane thought. " So kid, what do you want from me, is it money cause l only donate to charity on Sundays". "No", Thane replied. "O l get it now, you want puberty guidance don't you, wait don't tell me yet, you want help on how to lend a girl in the house ah, then you are at the right place. I will teach you everything l know" with a smirky face on. "Kids these days have gotten out of hand" the innkeeper said whilst scratching beneath her nose. "Just want to book a room please" Thane said with a poker face on. "What, you already lended a girl, where is she, l will throw the room cheap just for you kid" looking in all directions. "Good, l will need food and access to your bathrooms too" Thane said rubbing his stomach. "That makes sense, you smell like dead fish kid" said murmuringly. Thane threw one gold coin in one of the polished mugs. Going to take his bath. "What, a gold coin. This is too much, is he sure his not some young famous rookie adventurer with cool mind reading powers" she whispered. "Hey kid, it's room number three up the stairs" she shouted.
