Chapter 4 - The Village At The North

VILLAGE AT THE NORTH

After hours of walking. Thane could see the end of the forest. He knew he would be out soon in the forest in no time. He couldn't walk aimlessly with the Treant's arm in his hand, so he decided to tear apart a piece of his clothing and wrap the arm, aware that his lack of magic and inventory made carrying it awkward. His magic core did not even head an ounce of magic to brag about. "L'm finally out of this forest" with a faint smile on his face. He distand himself near a village. As Thane entered the village, the murmuring children's eyes followed him. Their whispers grew louder, and Thane sensed a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "Must be my rugged appearance," Thane thought, adjusting the cloth that wrapped the Treant's arm.

Thane arrived at a local market. Thane knew this would be a good time to exchange the items he had and share his knowledge of the Forbidden Forest for a decent sum of money. He didn't reveal his recent venture in the forest simply not to raise questions. Thane traded some of his items and intelligence. Some fellow traders left with questions about how this kid acquired this info. Thane left the market feeling satisfied with quite the loot he had made. [220 gold coins] "Okay, now l have the money that can sustain me for a while". "I should purchase fresh clothing at it, Thane tacked into his cheap clothes, of finding a blacksmith", he said. On his way he passed by an orphanage. "Ahh, feels like l know this place".

"You worthless piece of trash, make yourself useful for once damn it". "Ahh, was that a vision". Thane said, while grabbing his head.

A few moments on. " I feel like l should go straight, turn left, right, right, left , straight, left again than right" and there was it, "Gorin the lronfist ?" Thane had found the blacksmith shop with little effort. "It feels like I knew exactly where this place was". Thane said, while entering the shop. "Huff", putting his hammer down. "Ahh, Soren is that you". The blacksmith said. "Who's Soren, is he referring to me", Thane thought. "Wait is he talking to this vessel l have taken control over, l cannot tell him this boy so called Soren died, and who the hell would give someone a name Soren, shit this doesn't help me in any way or form". It's exactly what you think, Thane was freaking out but what amuses me is that his expression did not reflect what he was like inside, at all. "I had forgotten that l reincarnated into this Soren boy". " Ahh Soren, are you okay", the blacksmith said, with a worried face. "My apologies but l don't know this Soren you speak of". " Boy you already know that I don't like jokes so cut the crap up", Gorin spoke. "My answer still remains the same good sir, lm just another customer who's here for your widely known services", Thane replied.

Gorin was confused. "Did he attend English lessons, he surely talks differently ,l will play along, let's see how you hold your acting kid", Gorin thought. "Okay if you say so, so what pleasure to l owe you than", calmly he said. " I have an offer, l want you to do what you were born for on this", giving Gorin the blacksmith the Treant's arm with an expression of excitement on his face. " What's this, just hope this kid isn't inviting trouble or anything", Gorin thought while removing the wrapping paper A.K.A. a remnant of

Thane's clothing.

As Gorin removed the cloth, his eyes widened in surprise. "Where did you...?" He trailed off, studying the Treant's arm . Gorin's expression transformed from curiosity to caution . He carefully handled the arm, inspecting its intricate patterns . "Rare material, "Gorin muttered.

"Wraithwood Treant's limb" . " This, this is a spiritual beats arm, where did you get this Soren",with an uneasy feeling Gorin said. "You didn't steal this did you ?" "Hhh First, my name isn't Soren",said calmly. "Second l didn't steal anything", loudly he said. "And lastly are you gonna forge me a damn weapon or not", shouted Thane. A moment of silence transpered.

#shame on you Thane

"Okay, my apologies", replied Gorin with a sadly expression. "What type of a weapon are you interested in Sore... Ahh my apologies for my rudeness once again, it's just you very much look alike with someone I know". Tears trickling . "The type of weapon you forge for me doesn't matter just craft something you think will befit me". "Understood", Gorin replied.

"Your order will be ready within a month". "Okay", Thane replied. "That will give me more time to train". " I really don't want to know what type of weapon he will craft for me, l want it to be a surprise", with a faint smile Thane thought while leaving the shop. "Soren ha, looks like l'm able to access your memories of your life and the blacksmith there, was like a father to you". " I will use your memories to guide myself, so rest assured". Thane left heading to the nearest mountains to train he could immediately recognize his path well by referring to Soren's memories making it an advantage.

The sound of Thane's footsteps echoed through the mountainous terrain, a cacophony that sent the nearby insects scurrying for cover. Thane's relentless pace was a testament to his unwavering determination. He sprinted up the mountain, his feet pounding against the rugged earth. The trees seemed to blur together as he dodged low-hanging branches and leapt over treacherous roots. Thane's agility was impressive, but his speed began to wane as the mountain's incline grew steeper. The air thinned, and his lungs burned from the exertion. Still, he pressed on, driven by a fierce resolve. As night descended, casting the mountain in an inky blackness, Thane refused to yield. He pushed through the darkness, his senses heightened as he navigated the treacherous terrain. The stars above twinkled like diamonds scattered across the velvet expanse, but Thane's gaze remained fixed on the summit.

Finally, after an eternity of climbing, Thane reached the top. His body screamed in protest, his muscles aching from the unrelenting strain. He collapsed onto the rocky surface, his chest heaving with exhaustion. But Thane knew he couldn't afford to rest. He had only a month to train, to hone his skills and unlock the secrets of his abilities. The stakes were high, and failure was not an option."I have no time to rest," Thane muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the wind. "I only have a month to train, and if I don't manage to reach a certain level of power, I might not wield...the sword Gorin is forging for me."

Thane's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his own ragged breathing. He sat up, his eyes scanning the horizon. Nightfall finally settles in, casting a golden glow over the landscape. With a newfound sense of determination, Thane stood up, his body creaking in protest. He began to stretch, his muscles screaming in agony as he forced himself to move.

Thane's training wasn't to focus on his body only but also mana manipulation. "Meditation" . Thane spoke while sitting down, took a deep breath. He started meditating for hours and clearing his mind thinking of the nothingness . He felt the cool braise of wind, sounds from small harmless animals. He started to feel the connection between all the living things emitting mana, speculating the flow of mana and into his body regulating his blood flow with the amount of mana he can absorb in his body.Hours turned into days he started meditating under water and the pressure of the water was unnerving but held on while holding his breath.

BOOM, water splashing everywhere,"huff, seven days already passed ah". He was coming out from the water. Thane's determination made him forget a trivial matter of hunger . An ominous smile was spreading ear to ear on Thane's face. While lifting his hand. A light started laminating, it was fire, by suppressing mana particles making them heat up creating a flame . "I'm now able to wield mana" . .. in just seven days. Now Thane could create fire with ease. If you were me, the Author you could have identified that Thane was dry even though he just came out of water. It's very very much what you think. Thane was now able to manipulate mana to control the flow of water or even create water itself from the surrounding water vapor in the atmosphere. "Being able to control two elements in 7 days, quite impressive of me".
