"Um…what? What are you saying?" Evan blinked.
"Kya? Aapaka matlab hai ki aap samajh nahin sakate ki main kya kah raha hoon?" I said dramatically, feigning shock. (What? You mean you can't understand me?)
"Little one, please. What are you saying?" Atlas pressed, still baffled.
Niya and I exchanged a glance, then burst into laughter.
"Meree bhaasha seekhane ke lie aapake paas hamesha ek achchhee baat hai," I said, patting Atlas's shoulder. (Good thing you have forever to learn my language.)
Recognition dawned on Evan. "You're speaking in your mother tongue!"
"Yep! And the look on your faces was priceless. Tables have turned." I laughed.
"So you were teasing me?" Atlas asked.
"Maybe. But you deserved it." I stuck my tongue out again.
"Stick that tongue out one more time, I dare you."
The atmosphere shifted instantly. Atlas's eyes darkened with lust. Uh oh. I knew that look.
