Bradley clapped mockingly. "How do you think Anaa was drugged? How did I sneak in unnoticed? Gabe. He drugged her. Savanah was useful, but Gabe was my real ally."
Atlas's face broke with betrayal. His best friend had turned on him.
"Why, Gabe?" I choked out.
"I did it because change was needed," Gabe said coldly. "Dimitri was a good king, but the system had to fall. I overheard Savanah with Bradley and decided they were my best chance."
"You betrayed your best friend?" My voice shook.
"Enough talk," Bradley barked. "Hold Atlas down while I kill her."
Gabe moved toward us. Atlas suddenly laughed, the sound chilling.
"I think it's hilarious you believe you have the upper hand," he said.
Bradley scowled. "I do. Look around. No one's here to save you. Gabe's with me. You're finished."
Atlas's growl shook the room. "No. You got too cocky. And you never saw the bigger picture."
Bradley lunged for me, but Gabe swung a pole and knocked him out cold.
