But A-Class Missions are high-level tasks that even Chunin rarely participate in.
"Forget it, I'm too lazy to expose him. They'll find out after graduation." Uchiha Tekka opened his mouth but ultimately chose not to point out the absurdity in Obito's story. Instead, he returned to his seat to prepare for the exam.
Unmasking him would require a lot of effort to explain, and some people might not believe it, thinking he's just jealous—it's a lot of effort for little reward.
If one's deceived, it's just their own lack of ability. If they have the skills and join the internship, they won't be fooled by such ridiculous lies.
"The scenery between the Land of Rivers and our Land of Fire is vastly different, with endless deserts where it's all sand, and no green trees in sight..." Obito continued to excitedly describe the landscapes encountered during missions.
Feeling the envious and shocked gazes from others, Obito was immensely satisfied.
It wasn't until the proctor entered the classroom that Obito regretfully stopped, heading to his seat to prepare for the exam.
Once the exam papers were distributed, the courage and confidence Obito had while storytelling faded, and he felt overwhelmed at the sight of the black and white text.
After working on the questions for a while, Obito couldn't resist glancing around and soon spotted Might Guy writing fervently.
"Oh no, was Guy just reading the whole time?" Obito realized that his teammate seemed silent the entire time.
With this thought, Obito focused intently on the exam itself, thinking about how their mission records would definitely astonish everyone when grades were announced. By then, it would be clear who, between him and Might Guy, would find their scores embarrassing.
During lunch, many interns gathered together to discuss their internship experiences. Obito noticed and joined in with Might Guy for some fun.
"The life of a ninja is not easy. It feels more exhausting than school, always either doing odd jobs or cultivating," Shiranui Genma sighed.
"Indeed, I've heard that newly graduated Genin often only do odd jobs. Who knows how long that will last?" Another intern agreed.
"It's not so bad; I actually find the internship life quite nice," Obito said with a grin.
"Of course, you'd feel that way. Your mentor is Teacher Mokgetsu," Shiranui Genma couldn't help but chuckle, playfully nudging Obito with his fist.
"So Teacher Mokgetsu is also guiding interns. You're really lucky, Obito." The interns all looked at Obito with envy.
Aside from Hyuga Kamon, all the other interns had participated in Mokgetsu's summer training, and they knew how enjoyable it was to be taught by Mokgetsu; it was completely different from other teachers.
"Probably because Obito is first in the grade," Ebisu thought it more a matter of merit than luck. Being from the prestigious Uchiha clan and first in the grade, Obito was surely taught by the best teachers.
"That makes sense. It also explains why you and Guy are interning together," Shiranui Genma nodded in agreement. Since the first semester of fourth-grade finals, it had been a constant competition between Might Guy and Obito for the top spot.
"By the way, who is your other teammate, Hyuga Kamon?" Shiranui Genma asked out of curiosity since Hyuga Kamon wasn't present.
In terms of strength, he believed Hyuga Kamon was most qualified as the third member, considering how he had consistently ranked first in practical exams since second and third grade.
Both Obito and Might Guy shook their heads.
"Huh? It's not Hyuga Kamon, then who is it?" Shiranui Genma grew even more curious.
The surrounding students also looked at Obito and the others curiously, wondering which lucky person joined this high-value internship team.
Might Guy provided a name none of them expected.
"It's Kakashi," Might Guy honestly replied.
"What? Kakashi? But didn't he graduate a long time ago? I think he became a Chunin when we were in second grade," Shiranui Genma was utterly surprised to hear Kakashi's name from Might Guy's mouth.
He thought Obito's teammate would be one of the excellent students like Hyuga Kamon, Uchiha Tekka, or Shizune, but it turned out not to be anyone from the Ninja Academy.
"Yeah, aren't we just interns? Why are you grouped with an official ninja?" The surrounding students were equally surprised.
The name Kakashi was not unfamiliar to them, as he had been in their grade, and even if they hadn't spoken to him, his genius deeds were well known.
"I'm not sure, maybe it's the bond of a close friend!" Might Guy flashed his bright white teeth and thumbs up as he replied.
Shiranui Genma: ...
Then Shiranui Genma looked at Obito, who nodded to confirm. Despite not knowing the circumstances, Kakashi, now a Chunin, indeed became their internship teammate.
"Your team setup is amazing, with Teacher Mokgetsu as a Special Jonin and Kakashi as a Chunin, and you two being first in the grade. Doing odd jobs seems beneath you." A student exclaimed.
"You guessed it right, the Hokage sees our strength as exceptional and has specially allowed us to take on C-Class Missions." Obito said with a grin.
Upon hearing this, the surrounding students looked even more envious, and none doubted Obito's words.
If a Chunin teacher leading ordinary interns seemed a stretch for special permission by the Hokage, it wasn't the case for Obito's impressively equipped team.
The teacher is a Special Jonin, the teammate a genius Chunin, and both Might Guy and Obito proved their abilities during summer training by defeating official Genin.
