Chapter 3 Part 3: Awakening of the Holy Sword
Recovering, Anna hurriedly pushed Lu Fei away, face burning.
She shot him a reproachful glance before smiling kindly at the elves:
"Awake now? Don't be afraid, we're not bad people. We rescued you."
Anna's strange charisma comforted the girls, though they still shrank at the bed's edge, heads low, trembling.
Humans were evil.
They'd seen what happened to others dragged off, so perhaps even this friendly big sister had been sent to trap them!
"Is it necessary to be so scared? We don't eat people."
Lu Fei couldn't help muttering, wounded.
Such a good moment, ruined.
Still, Sister Anna's taste was sweet.
He wondered were all kisses that sweet?
He couldn't compare he'd been a single dog in his past life.
"All right, Xiao Fei, go outside for a bit while I talk to them. They must be frightened."
"Okay."
Lu Fei had no choice but to step outside.
It was clear the elves feared him more than Anna.
Not long after, Anna called him back in with a wave and a smile:
"Come in, Xiao Fei."
When he returned, he found the two golden-haired, delicate-faced elf girls sitting obediently on chairs, no longer terrified.
What did Anna do?
Was her charm really that strong?
"Truly rude of us!"
The sisters, eyes determined, stood and bowed deeply.
"You rescued us, yet we misjudged you. Please forgive our offense."
Lu Fei waved hastily.
"No problem, totally understandable. Being in a strange place… I, uh, get it. No apology needed."
Relieved, the two girls thanked him silently, while Anna rolled her eyes.
Even she'd have been embarrassed to be caught by others making out with a boy.
Xiao Fei was getting sly.
"So can you tell us your story? And what do you plan next?"
"I'll introduce myself. I'm Lu Fei this beautiful woman is the one I like, and also my not-blood-related Sister Anna."
"I'll be an adventurer with Sister Anna, earning money, leveling up, and seeking happiness. That's about it."
Anna blushed, but warmth filled her heart.
She agreed with Lu Fei's plan.
The more mature elf girl considered, then spoke softly:
"Mr. Lu Fei, we know your name; Sister Anna explained already. I'm Amy, and this is my little sister, Ellie. We're from the elf homeland in the south."
"We lived in peace until one day, evil humans invaded, enslaved our sisters, and sold them."
"Our home is gone; we don't know what to do, so we want to join your adventures. Can you take us in?"
"Don't worry we won't be a burden. Both of us have priestess talent skilled at healing magic, so we can serve as team support."
"Healing magic? Sure! I accept!" Lu Fei agreed instantly, then looked at Anna.
"But Sister Anna's the boss let's see what she thinks."
Anna rolled her eyes.
"You'd love that, hmm?"
"Amy, Ellie, I told you he'd say yes. With such beauty, no man would refuse you. Let's go on adventures together."
"Xiao Fei and I will protect you!"
Amy and Ellie burst into tears.
Anna hugged them gently.
All three girls cuddled and wept the sweet scene made Lu Fei move in for a hug too.
But
As if telepathic, the three girls each extended a leg and kicked him flying.
"Hey! What was that for?!"
Picking himself up, Lu Fei protested.
"Hmph, Xiao Fei, don't get ideas. From now on, Amy and Ellie are my sisters; you want to bully them, get through me first."
Mature Amy blushed and stated:
"Mr. Lu Fei, we're grateful, but… giving ourselves to you is impossible. Sorry!"
She bowed deeply.
Lu Fei waved her off:
"Relax, no need for that. Anna would skin me alive if I tried! As Anna's sisters, you're my sisters too I'll protect you!"
"Thank you!"
Amy looked at him, moved.
Shy little Ellie peeked from behind her sister, blue eyes flicking from Lu Fei to the floor, hiding herself completely.
Lu Fei scratched his nose was he that scary?
"All right all clear, so let's celebrate gaining two more sisters with a feast! My treat!"
Anna led the group to a tavern.
Seeing the way the elves devoured meat, Lu Fei was surprised.
"You girls eat meat?"
"What else?" Anna shot him a glare.
"Ha, I thought elves just ate fruit and plants. They're always portrayed as pretty, fair-skinned, nature-loving."
"No that's a branch called elemental elves. We hunt and eat meat too," Amy explained.
"Elemental fairies? That exists?"
Amy nodded, darkening, "There's very few left. Most were captured by humans and used to make weapons…"
The mood turned awkward.
"Sorry, I didn't mean "
"It's fine. I'm not the type to make weapons from elves. I should thank you honestly, I know little about the world."
Amy felt warm inside at his friendly tone, giving him a stealthy glance.
Mr. Lu Fei is handsome… and so kind.
No wonder Anna let him… kiss her…
After eating, came a problem.
To save money, Anna only rented one room.
Amy and Ellie blushed, hesitated.
Anna took their hands and said,
"No worries this fool won't do anything. Tonight's special, Xiao Fei gets to be our bodyguard and sleep on the floor."
The sisters chorused: "We'll follow Sister Anna!"
Lu Fei's face twitched.
"I actually wanted to sleep on the bed…"
Maybe he shouldn't have rescued these girls?
He could have had a chance to sleep with Anna alone.
"No way. Be good and play guardian tonight!" Anna said, taking the sisters to the room.
Lu Fei shrugged, made up a bed on the floor, and slept.
Amy and Ellie slept each side of Anna, snuggling close calmed at last.
Next morning
All dressed and refreshed, Anna brought Lu Fei and the elven sisters to the adventurer guild's desk.
"How can I help you?"
A black-haired young lady in a maid outfit and ponytail smiled professionally.
Her gaze landed on Anna and the elf twins; she stared in awe.
Both Anna, with her special allure, and the twin elf girls were strikingly beautiful.
Lu Fei definitely felt the heated stares from other adventurers.
Anna seemed immune.
With poise, Anna set 30 silver coins on the counter, summoned her adventurer's card, and had the lady verify her identity.
"Hello, I'm Anna, level 3 adventurer. Please help my companions register."
Registering as an adventurer cost 10 silver per person a hefty sum.
But Anna was a saver, and Lu Fei didn't spend much, so she still had around 5 gold and 20 silver after this.
"All right, please wait a moment!"
The young lady vanished backstage, soon returning with a crystal ball and three cards.
"Who first? The procedure is to place a hand on the orb for magic detection, then bind an identity to the blank adventurer's card."
"Amy, Ellie, you go first."
"Okay."
Amy went first.
A green light burst from the orb the lady was surprised.
"You're a rare support type, with high aptitude. Please provide your info and drip blood on this card."
Amy complied.
"Wow a support class! A perfect teammate!"
"And an elf!"
"How beautiful…"
