Chapter 2 Part 1: The Return and the Guild
"Xiao Fei, kept you waiting, didn't I?"
Anna came back to Lu Fei with a beaming smile and reached up to ruffle his hair.
With the potion in hand, her mood relaxed; even though Lord Morgan had kissed her and played with her chest, as long as the potion worked, Xiao Fei could change his fate.
As a commoner, deceiving a noble required tremendous courage.
But for Lu Fei, she did it anyway and had even prepared to flee the territory together with him.
"No, it's a rare trip here. I think it's pretty interesting."
As Lu Fei spoke, he suddenly spread his arms and hugged her waist, muffling, "Sister Anna, only I get to hug you."
He didn't know if it was just an illusion, but Sister Anna's lips looked more tempting.
They looked a bit swollen.
And her clothes were a little disheveled…

According to Kate, this commission had been issued by a merchant.
From Kaladia City to a town called Lane.
The road in between didn't belong to Morgan's domain, and bandits frequently appeared.
Their two-car convoy was such a large target that an ambush was likely.
A day later.
The convoy stopped in a flat, open grove.
"Alright, everyone take a break; time to prepare dinner!"
Everyone sighed in relief.
Although the lowest in the team were level 2 adventurers, stamina was still limited.
After walking this long, they were already tired.
Even Anna's smooth forehead was beaded with fine, fragrant sweat.
"Xiao Fei, you must be tired too. Sit and rest for a bit."
Anna found a tree, sat on the grass, and leaned against it.
Lu Fei naturally sat close beside her, enjoying the jealous looks from the other men.
The always-cool beauty Anna was actually this close to a man.
They all wished they could be her "little brother."
They were about halfway to their destination.
Fortunately, they hadn't encountered bandits yet.
But vigilance couldn't be relaxed.
Bandits were the most cunning fond of launching raids when passing caravans were resting, charging in to burn, kill, and loot.
"Here, have something to eat."
After a rest, Kyle, who had finished cooking, brought over the food and handed it to them.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. We're all teammates, and I'm logistics, so I'm supposed to handle this."
Kyle smiled brightly, admired Anna's graceful form for a moment, and then turned away.
He had once thought of pursuing Anna.
But.
Before he'd even started, it had already ended.
That damned noble lord had his eyes on her.
Kyle looked at Lu Fei with a touch of pity.
A powerless weakling would surely become a bargaining chip for the nobles in the end, while they would mercilessly toy with Anna's body.

Anna's cheeks were a bit red. She held Lu Fei in her arms and covered his ears with her small hands.
Lu Fei was speechless.
Why cover his ears? Shouldn't she cover her own too?
He felt Anna's body trembling.
Her hold was a little tight.
"Xiao Fei, you mustn't listen to unhealthy noises, okay? Be good and sleep. Let sister keep watch."
"Okay."

He nestled his head against her chest, found a comfortable position, and closed his eyes.
