Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Chakra Science Path Unique to the Ninja Realm

The environment of Hakushi's room is simple and unadorned.

Besides the necessary living utensils, the most striking feature is a large, integrated bookshelf that occupies almost half of the room.

The bookshelf is filled with books.

There are many varieties.

It includes basic physics, chemistry, biology, materials, mechanics, and so on within the Ninja Realm.

Some knowledge is simply beyond the understanding of people their age.

Ruri believes that even adults in the Uchiha Race rarely read such types of books and publications.

They only study more practical and powerful ninja techniques and are too lazy to glance at such books.

Ninja techniques are mainstream in the Ninja Realm, while subjects like mathematics and biology are considered niche and not very popular in Konoha's bookstores.

Ninja School also teaches these, but most people aren't interested.

"What's the use of reading these books? You should spend more time on knowledge related to ninja techniques."

Ruri looked at Hakushi with dissatisfaction.

Hakushi confidently smiled and said:

"Ruri, your words are somewhat biased. While the power of chakra is infinite, scientific power isn't weak either. What chakra can achieve, so can science."

Especially when science and chakra are combined, Hakushi believes that is the correct way to open the door to science in this world.

One day, people in this world will realize this.

Integration of chakra and science—Hakushi is willing to be a pioneer in this and is very much looking forward to the future of chakra science.

"Really? Have you seen the huge forest outside of Konoha Village? It was created in an instant using Wood Style Ninjutsu by the First Hokage Hashirama. Can your science do the same?"

Ruri immediately came up with an example.

"..."

Uh... that's really impossible.

Creating forests with the power of science is possible, but creating such a vast forest in an instant is something that science really can't achieve at present.

Even the level of science in his past life couldn't achieve such miraculous results instantly.

Not to mention the First Hokage's power that suppressed an era, even ordinary ninjas can create water, flames, and lightning out of thin air, which defies Hakushi's understanding of normal scientific development.

This is precisely the wonder of chakra.

"So, compared to powerful ninja techniques, your so-called science is still insignificant, a fringe path. Learning is fine, but don't delve too deeply; a ninja should be like a ninja."

Ruri hoped that Hakushi would focus his energy on studying powerful ninja techniques and improving his strength. It's not that he shouldn't learn science, but he should distinguish between primary and secondary focuses.

They are ninjas.

The destiny of a ninja is to fight.

To survive in battle, to perish in battle.

If you want to live well, power is the key.

"I understand. I will seriously consider it."

Hearing that Hakushi was earnestly listening to her words, Ruri felt very relieved.

She didn't want to see this genius, Hakushi, just wither away like that.

Days without an opponent are extremely dull, making her feel very lonely.

When she found out that Hakushi had the qualification to spar with her, she was indeed very happy at that time.

Ruri did not stay long with Hakushi; after talking for a while, she left.

After Ruri left, Hakushi plunged into his studies.

Ruri's words to him were in one ear and out the other.

Hakushi felt that as someone who had received higher education, he should focus on developing his own specialties.

One should be self-aware.

Besides, when doing research, he could also use his leisure time to improve his strength.

After all, as time goes by, the time for leisure will be less and less. If he doesn't replenish his knowledge now, it will be hard to settle down and study later.

Unfortunately, he didn't have a lab to put theory into practice, or else he could verify some things he wanted, which would greatly help his studies and ninja technique training.

"Hmm... speaking of which, many of the school's labs are vacant and unattended..."

Mainly because not many people take medical tutoring classes, and most students are uninterested in the extremely tedious medical courses, leading to many labs being unused and unmanaged.

In comparison, students are more interested in cool types of ninja techniques.

This could definitely be utilized.

As long as you're not caught, it's not a crime.

A few days later.

Hakushi partitioned a twenty-square-meter area in his house, making an already small house even more cramped in terms of living space.

In the partitioned area, the compact arrangement of lab equipment wasn't fully satisfying Hakushi's needs, but it should suffice for initial stage research.

Learning medical ninjutsu or researching other things can't be done without these pieces of equipment.

Some of this lab equipment and materials were casually taken from the school's labs. These items were very common and easily lost or unimportant things, with no markings on them, and since those labs were long closed and locked, Hakushi's actions were very hidden with a low chance of being discovered.

This could save Hakushi some money.

The rest were bought from the shops in the village, which were second-hand or cheap goods.

In this era, there is already some foundation of science, but there isn't a complete and unified concept of it, as chakra's application dominates the Ninja Realm.

Science, like a fallen samurai, doesn't fit with the mainstream of the current era.

Moreover, through his understanding during this time, using medical ninjutsu as an entry point for chakra science might lead to a smoother road.

Touching the cold lab equipment, Hakushi's eyes revealed a trace of nostalgia.

Back in high school, university, and even during his official work in hospitals, due to professional reasons, he often dealt with these strange instruments.

They felt as familiar as old friends.

The types and functions of the equipment varied from what Hakushi knew, but once he read the instructions, he could skillfully categorize them and develop a systematic research plan.

The only regret was that his funds were tight.

The inheritance left by his parents in this life wasn't meager, but it wasn't wealthy either.

Hakushi knew scientific research couldn't proceed without financial support.

It seems he'll have to find raw materials himself.

Fortunately, there are many resources available for free collection in the forests around Konoha Village; future matters can wait, first, he should learn medical ninjutsu.

The days of study are always fulfilling and enjoyable. From birth, Hakushi has accumulated much more than his peers, being a seasoned doctor in his previous life, with much of the medical theory being similar between the two worlds, just with different terms and phrasing, at the core it remains the same.

The only different aspect is the involvement of chakra.

Hakushi focused on resolving this aspect.

Therefore, with a solid foundational knowledge in medicine, Hakushi wasn't starting from scratch but picking out key areas and unfamiliar parts.

Resolving these parts didn't take Hakushi much time; it only took him a month to master them.

If he were to learn thoroughly, it might take a year or even several years to complete the theoretical consolidation.

To think of completing theoretical accumulation in one month is wishful thinking.

The medical ninjutsu scroll Ruri gave him contained several practical medical ninja techniques, along with annotations and insights from medical ninjas, which helped Hakushi avoid many detours in his self-study of medical ninjutsu.

This made Hakushi very grateful to Ruri.

Without Ruri's help, he wouldn't have grown this fast himself.
