With such thoughts in mind, the teacher's expression softened somewhat.
He gave Yusei a meaningful look.
"Kazami-kun, studying ahead is a good thing, but you still need to pay attention in class to learn better and more thoroughly."
"Sensei believes you can return to the grades you had at the start of the school year. Keep working hard!"
After saying that, he told a completely baffled Yusei to sit down and returned to the podium.
"Previewed in advance? It feels like Yusei-kun has become more serious lately," Megumi said to Yusei with a slight smile.
"Y... yeah..."
Yusei scratched his head awkwardly, 'Preview? Previewing doesn't exist… I never preview.'
The morning classes ended quickly. After realizing his deskmate was Megumi, Yusei didn't feel particularly bored.
Even Einstein's theory of relativity proves that when you're next to a beautiful girl, time naturally seems to pass quickly.
Megumi wasn't overly enthusiastic towards Yusei, that was just her personality.
And they weren't that close anyway, just classmates who got along well enough to talk.
Megumi had brought her own bento and ate it in the classroom. After bidding her farewell, Yusei quickly headed for the rooftop.
For some reason, the rooftop now felt a bit like his and Utaha's secret base.
Since their first meeting there, their meeting place had automatically become that spot.
But considering the quiet environment needed for discussing the novel, aside from a café, which the school didn't have, the quiet rooftop was probably the best option.
Arriving at the rooftop, Utaha was already sitting there, holding a notebook in one hand and a pen in the other, seemingly jotting something down.
"Senpai, aren't you having lunch?"
"Of course I will."
Utaha took out two bags of yakisoba bread from beside her and tossed one to Yusei.
"This is your payment for helping me brainstorm the plot at noon."
Yusei caught it and looked at the yakisoba bread curiously.
This had a history. Back when he watched Anime, he'd seen characters talk about how delicious this was.
Now, he finally had the chance to try it.
Utaha, sitting nearby, glanced at the curious Yusei.
"You eat first. It seems like you haven't had this before?"
"Yeah, never have. Well then, thank you for your generosity, Senpai!"
Yusei didn't stand on ceremony either. He sat down not far from Utaha and opened the yakisoba bread bag.
He took a bite, 'The fried noodles sandwiched between the crispy, slightly charred bread... the taste...'
Yusei's face stiffened.
How to put it... the taste was a bit stiff. He found it somewhat greasy and rather bland.
Utaha, seeing Yusei's expression, laughed unkindly. She looked at him mockingly.
"Maybe taste-wise it's not that great, but it fulfills the basic nutrients we need."
"In terms of price and nutrition, it's a very cost-effective lunch."
Hearing Utaha say this, Yusei actually found himself at a loss for words.
"Alright, you do have a point. It seems, Senpai, you'd be very suitable to be a wife in the future."
"Oh? Your wife, perhaps?"
Picking up on Yusei's words, Utaha said playfully.
"Cough..."
Yusei, who had just taken a bite of bread, was startled by this remark and almost choked.
Just as he was about to reply with 'Don't joke around' or 'Stop teasing me', he suddenly thought of something.
'Eh? Wouldn't this actually align with my own thoughts?'
'Come to think of it, wasn't I attracted to Senpai's body... cough... Senpai's heart, right? Wouldn't having her as my wife be wonderful?'
Yusei forcibly swallowed his initial response, cleared his throat lightly, and adopted a playful tone like Senpai's.
"I wouldn't mind. If Senpai agrees, that is."
In this kind of situation, he couldn't back down, or else this woman would truly seize the initiative.
In the interplay between men and women, maintaining the initiative is always an important factor.
And for a girl like Utaha, she wouldn't simply like a cute, submissive, puppy-like guy.
Sometimes, showing assertiveness, having ideas, and having talent are the best ways to win her over!
