Chapter 19 - Serious problem

Adriel saw Elena stunned, feeling her body tremble at the words of the strangely calm woman. "What do you mean you're Phase C?" Adriel asked, his hands clenching into fists, wrinkling his pants.

Elena looked at the moons, enchanted by their glow, helping her avoid Adriel's worried gaze. "We succubi are a social species, we usually travel in groups. Five days ago, I was with my sister, my mother, and two other companions." Elena took a deep breath and sighed, trying to calm herself so she could continue talking.

"Our Phase changed until my mother and my friends were killed by a pheasant settler. We inhabitants are like succubi. You know us as semi-humans. All of us are capable of using the system and having classes. My sister ended up going crazy, and I was able to escape, but we always came out as Phase A during that time, so our hunter can manipulate the system or our psyche to a certain extent." Elena explained each point with persistent terror in her tone and body, shown by her impressive trembling.

"My sister lost control because she stopped acting. In this world, you must behave according to the class you have; your personal definition of the name will be your guide to moving forward. You can stop acting, but this could lead you to madness in the short or medium term."

When she finished speaking, Adriel stood over Elena, grabbed her shoulders, and asked, "Why didn't you tell me all this before?" His voice trembled, and his fingers threatened to dig into the woman's flesh due to the pressure he was applying.

"I... it wasn't convenient for me," Elena said, her voice broken by the pain she felt.

"It wasn't convenient for you! Do you really think it's a good idea to hide that from a group of teenagers? Not knowing that could kill us, and it will kill us." Adriel tore a little of Elena's skin thanks to the force he used on his fingers and his extreme concern.

Adriel opened his eyes wide and then sat up. He looked at the sky and began to think about his new enemies. 'A hunter doesn't get excited about things like this,' Adriel thought as he looked around, now knowing that he could go crazy.

"What color were your sister's eyes and hair?" Adriel asked, forcing himself to remain calm.

"Blue, her hair and eyes were blue," Elena said with her head down.

"She's dead, I killed her," Adriel said, completely calm.

There was no response to his statement; Elena just stared at the floor. "Don't worry, madness means that someone is no longer themselves. Over time, they forget and lose the ability to use the system and their abilities. A clear example is the werewolf, who used to be a villager." Elena put her hands between her thighs to warm them.

Adriel saw Amara, who was falling asleep, wearing Adriel's raincoat.

The boy approached her and rummaged through her pockets until he found the blue ball with the shield.

"When I fought the werewolf, I didn't have an attack as such. What I did was wait for his attack and counterattack using the weakness of his charge." Adriel began to search his thoughts for something that would help him.

Among hundreds of useless thoughts from his point of view, he saw the scroll he had obtained, then remembered one of the most important attacks from an anime/manga he loved. 'Gazelle kick. It's a boxing technique where you jump forward after creating an opening to throw a hook or uppercut at the enemy, throwing them off balance,' Adriel thought as he got into position.

Adriel propelled himself forward, then put his weight on his fist, moving his hips to create more force.

The blow cut through the air. Thanks to his new, almost superhuman abilities, he could recreate an expert's blow in just a few attempts, but there was one problem: 'It's not lethal'. Adriel dropped to the ground.

If he wanted to kill an enemy, he had to have a lethal blow that would kill without the opponent realizing it, or one that was fast enough to be a punishing attack, even if it wasn't as lethal.

On the ground, he thought with his index and thumb fingers gripping his chin. He closed his eyes and thought. In a short time, he saw a completely dark place where four blue spheres were flying. One represented his scythe, another his breastplate, the third his clothes, and the last the scroll of uppercuts.

Adriel remained thinking inside that place. He didn't know how to turn his fist into a lethal weapon. 'Should it really be my fist?' Adriel stared at the scythe, its ball glowing, and his ideas fell into place.

He gently opened his eyes, then stood up and summoned the scythe. He lunged forward again, but this time he made a vertical crescent with the blade of the scythe. 'Lethal, precise, and surprising.' Adriel knew that he wasn't that precise yet, he still needed a lot of training, but he already had a foundation to work from.
