Lucian's POV
I am in the class now. Yesterday was a long day. Sophie went out before I reached home.Tiring. This girl...
Bang!
I reacted instantly, standing up from my seat and moving back.
"Hey, dear cousin," Sophie said.
This girl. I almost died of a heart attack.š¤£
"What's going on with you? Mentally ill?" I asked.
"Yeah, just ran out from a mental hospital,"š she replied.
"Attention, attention, attention! A girl named Sophie just ran away from the mental hospital!" shouted Julian.
Everyone burst into laughter.
Seriously, this guy.
"Good morning, class," said Sir Dalton, spanking Julian.š
God, he must be so embarrassed.
"Stop this nonsense and go back to your seat," Sir said, totally controlling his laugh.
"Students, you have a program coming up."
Everyone got super excited after hearing this.
"You all have to select one partner for the dance programš," Sir said, smiling. "This is going to be a one-week-long celebration in which different activities will come up," he said eagerly, waiting for our response.
"Sir, how about you make our pairs?š®" Marcus asked.
Stupid fool. Seriously, who asks such a question?
"Yeah, sure," Sir replied, totally disappointed by this kind of question.
"I'm with Sophie!" Julian shouted.
"No problem," replied Sophie.
This girl⦠Is there something going on between them No way. Maybe? Whatever.
"I'm not participating," shouted Damon.
Of course. This guy already has a girlfriend. Why would he participate?
"Fine, now listen," Sir said, pulling out a chit box. He opened it and called out the names.
"Selene Rivers" he said, drawing out a chit from the box, "Jayden Cross," he said, drawing another chit, "Rylan Mercer and Isla Montgomery. Adrian Frost and Clara Donovan. Xander Holt and Nora Bennett. Finn Harper and Maya Thornton. Leo Clair and Luna Carrington. Marcus Bell and Tessa Whitman."
And now, my name.
Wait, last? That meansā
I looked back.
"Aria Sin-clearā I mean Sinclairā noooooo!!!
"The last one, you all know," said Sir, smirking while looking at me.š
Yeah, planned. He never read names from the chit. He planned this.
No way. Waitā Ethan? Heā
I looked back, rushing toward Ethan.
"What happened?" he said.
"Don't act recklessly," he added.
"I'm not! Tell meā your nameā"
Before I could finish, Damon shouted, "I and Ethan! We are the hosts from our class!"
Seriously.
I moved back to my seat. The preparations started after break.
"Gather around!" Clara shouted.
"What? Where are we going to practice?" said Damon.
"In the music room, obviously," answered Clara.
"Fine, move to the music room," I shouted.
After reaching the music room, we gathered in a group. Long fights and arguments followed, and after that, we decided to perform a couple dance ā because we were left with no other option.
"Okay, pair up," said Clara. "Let's go! Where is Sin-clearā oh, I mean Sinclair?"
"Hmm?"
"Ah! ouch!" I shouted.
"Wait, what? Are you going to dance with souls?"š said Sophie, twisting my hand.
"I swear, someday I'll make sure to extract your soul out from your body,"𤣠I replied and pulled back.
I adjusted my coat and moved toward Aria.
"Hey," she said, coming towards me.
"What's up?" I replied.
"Nothing fun. It seems Clara has no idea about this dance. The time will be over in two minutes," she said, disappointed.
I checked the time on my wristwatch. The period would be over in five.
"Class! Behave!" shouted Clara.
Four.
"Come on!"
Three.
"Damon, Ethan, here, now!"
Two.
"Shut up, Sophie!"
One.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
The bell rang and everyone rushed out. Clearly, no one wasĀ interested in dancing.
The bell rang, and only I, Aria, and Clara were left in the room.
"Stupid guys!" Clara shouted. "They wasted my time," she said again.
"Let's go, Aria," Clara said, pulling her toward the door.
But suddenly, they stoppedā and Aria came back.
"What?" I asked her, confused.
"Let's practice at your home today," she replied.
"What? No way!" I shouted.
She took a step back, clearly afraid.
"Fine, whatever," I said.
I took my bag and car keys and went to the parking lot. She followed me quietly.
No one spoke during the way.
It was quietā
but I felt something was going to go wrong.
