CHAPTER 3: ESCAPE THE HOARD(1)
The message from the voice reminded me of my personal record I first saw in the dark room.
And with just a thought it appeared before me.

There was a new message in front of the constitution.
"Slightly improved?" I asked
I didn't feel any different, maybe that's why it's slightly, but any improvement is appreciated.
I let out a deep breath to calm myself and actually I felt better.
The fever calmed down and my breathing grew steady.
"Second day in this hellhole. Luckily I'm in one piece." I joked.
The sight of the creature halfway free caught me off guard as it quickened its pace, noticing that I had my eyes on it.
"That green-skinned idiot" I cursed as I matched onwards to reeducate it.
My water situation was already solved and the food situation… somewhat???
I squished the berries and mixed in some water from the river into a large leaf.
The water made it less sour and easier to gulp down. Thankfully no monster or beast appears around the cave because of the previous owner's droppings.
With my shelter, food, and water secured, now I need to secure my defense.
This took hours, but with a sharp stone, I sharpened a stick enough to defend myself from most threats.
I stared at my weapon with pride then it dawned on me. "NOOOOO!!!" I screamed internally pulling my hair.
I spent all this time when I could have just tied the sharp stone to a stick. I felt like an idiot, but the past is the past and this mistake would be buried with me to the grave.
I went to the river again to wash myself, the thought of fishing never crossed my mind since I had no way to make a fire.
MYTH HOLDERS 752/1032(BATCH XXS20976)
"Hmm?" I wondered at the message.
Maybe it had changed, but I couldn't remember. Thankfully the second day went by uneventfully.
DAY 3 IN THE GABJIN JUNGLE. THE TOWER ACKNOWLEDGES YOUR TENACITY.
BODY'S CONSTITUTION IMPROVED
The third day and the constitution stat improved again.
I made my special sour berry smoothie and headed out to explore with green skin.
My naming sense is terrible but I don't want to get attached real soon.
A radius of 37 steps from the cave, they were free to roam. But I am not going to test my luck any further.
Although the voice stated that 700+ people were still alive it was bizarre that I hadn't seen them.
Either the jungle was vast or I was isolated from the group. I am hoping it's the former.
For the first time since I came here, I saw smoke bellowing in the distance.
It could be people or the green-skinned creatures.
Even though there were risks, I charged into the smoke. Isolation for 3 whole days without access to even the internet was crazy.
I passed by multiple tall trees and avoided carnivorous plants, finally making it to the smoke after who knows how long, only to be met with disappointment.
A bunch of green-skinned folks sat by the fire as they ate roasted meat.
My mouth salivated as I looked at the juicy unknown meat.
"There are four of them there, and if they attack me, it would all be over," I reasoned internally.
But that meat was calling me.
I don't know what happened, but I rushed at them, screaming, spearing down on one of the creatures.
GOBLIN OF THE GULAK TRIBE DEFEATED. THE TOWER REWARDS YOUR VICTORY.
1 TOWER COIN CLAIMED.
The tower said something, but it slipped past my ear. The other three, first startled, quickly composed themselves as they reached behind for their blowdarts.
I charged at the second one, tossing it to its companion before skewering them both at the same time.
Kyaak!! They shrieked in unison.
GOBLIN OF THE GULAK TRIBE DEFEATED. THE TOWER REWARDS YOUR VICTORY.
2 TOWER COINS CLAIMED.
The bloodlist gave me the strength to kill the other one that was trembling in fear at my sight.
It started talking in an unknown language, like the screams of green skin pleading as it backed away, crawling.
With one final thrust, I made my judgment.
GOBLIN OF THE GULAK TRIBE DEFEATED. THE TOWER REWARDS YOUR VICTORY.
1 TOWER COIN CLAIMED.
I felt hunger but not for the food, something deeper.
That these creatures had something I didn't, and I had to take it, and I failed.
Something needed to be mine but what?
All these thoughts were fueling my bloodlust for the already deceased goblins, then I heard a cold mechanical voice ring in my mind.
The tower's voice brought me back from my bloodlust.
My hands trembled as I saw the sight of my massacre. "Why did I do this?" I asked my voice shaken.
All this over a piece of meat was simply unthinkable. Something came over me. The meat no longer looked appetizing as I buried these poor creatures.
I gathered all the loot I could find from their bodies: bone knives, blowdarts, dried meat strips and waterskins. Justifying to myself that I needed it to survive.
I first took a long shower in the river, scrubbing the blood off till my hands bled, before returning to the cave.
It wasn't even sunset but I lay on my oversized snakeskin as green skin watched me a little puzzled.
