Chapter 2 - Might Of A Warrior

CHAPTER 2: MIGHT OF A WARRIOR

I stared down at it as its fingers twitched inching closer to the blowdart.

"Stop…stop… stop," I worded it slowly, hoping it would be understood.

It quickly grabbed the blowdart and I charged at it.

Fwip! Fwip! Fwip!

It shot at my face as I reflexively blocked it. Three darts landed on my shoulders, sending a numbing sensation all over my arm.

I body slammed the creature into the ground as I pounced at it.

Repeatedly, I slammed its head to the ground until the adrenaline cooled.

Clamping its mouth with my hands, I tried to shush it, but kept on struggling, trying to break free.

My dominant hand being numbed was difficult to put weight on the creature but it slowly calmed down as I kept it down.

Loosening my grip, that little bastard bit down on my palm.

"Fuck!!" I cussed.

I didn't want to kill a creature, especially a humanoid one. I'm no saint but killing isn't that easy, even if it's a bug.

With all my strength, I stomped on its core, knocking it out.

Making it to the river I washed my bleeding palm and lapped the water like a dog.

The refreshing water washed down my throat, relaxing my muscles, before I almost threw up, remembering what I caught the creature doing before my arrival.

'I might become sick,' my stomach churned from the thought, and my face couldn't hide the disgusted expression.

MYTH HOLDERS 752/1032(BATCH XXS20976)

The number decreased, and not by much, fortunately. But the scariest thing was that this was still the first day.

Finding some strong vines on the ground, I bound the creature's arms and mouth as I made a leash to pull it.

This creature was an intelligent one and one that had formed some sort of tribe, from the scars on his face and body, looking more like tribal designs than normal scarring.

Communication wasn't possible with this green-skinned leprechaun, but I believe there will be a process in a few days.

"Hmm? It's getting darker" I noticed.

The grumble of my stomach brought me back to reality as I searched for any shelter for the night.

The creature was still trashing around, even though the straps started to piss me off; the thought of killing it became extremely appealing.

Thankfully, before nighttime, I found an abandoned cave with moss growing on its walls and dried bones placed everywhere.

"Maybe I should find another place," I said to myself, turning back before the growls of a beast changed my mind.

It can't be that bad, and I even found a shed snake skin to make a blanket. The only weird thing was the size of the skin which rivaled even the biggest snakes recorded on Earth.

I tied the green creature down on a boulder twice its size before lying down.

The cries of nocturnal beasts and the cold floor kept me from sleeping.

I got up to roam around to burn off some energy to be able to get some sleep. Funnily enough, there were a bunch of berries close to the cave which I somehow missed.

I can't eat food I find in the street so I should use my volunteer subject. My eyes dashed straight to the little green man.

Maybe it noticed my gaze, which caused it to shiver in fright.

I plucked a few and brought them to my test subject.

It looked at me wearily then to the berries in my hand. It opened its mouth wide inviting the snack.

It had a delightful expression when the berry juices washed his taste buds.

My curiosity piqued as I tried one only to spit it out as fast as it went in. "Sour! Sour! Sour!" I repeatedly screamed, scraping the remains of the justice stuck in my mouth.

The test subject, seeing my pain, delighted in it. I had to knock some manners with a single powerful punch, shutting it down.

This was a very useful lesson.

Everything calmed down leaving me room to analyze all that had happened today.

It's been a long and crazy day, kidnapped by who knows what, and forced into a survival situation for their pleasure.

Maybe it's a secret organization with high gear tech working on illegal human experiments or a godlike being doing all this because they are bored.

I laughed at my thoughts, the former is way more plausible than the latter, but anything to help me fall asleep.

My eyelids became heavy as I started to yawn, the sleep taking over. The grunts of the little green man were the last thing I heard before my vision went blurry then darkness.

"I just had the weirdest dream and–" the words got caught in my throat as I felt the soil in my palm.

I clenched it just to be sure and the wet sensation of the soil woke me up from my fairytale.

I got up from the ground and a stinging sensation hit me. My body felt heavy, like I was bearing a weight above my limits, but just enough to keep me from falling face flat.

Unbearable hunger and the thirst I just quenched yesterday hit me again.

My body dropped like a puppet with its strings cut and I heard the goblin snicker at my situation.

I pulled my sleeve up to check the origin of the pain.

Black veins crawled all over my body with their roots starting from where I got punctured by the darts. Crawling my way to the goblin I searched it through for anything it might have on it.

Unfortunately, my search came up fruitless. I felt like a fool. The only thing the creature had right now was rags that covered its groin.

I sweat profusely as my body heated up to unbearable temperatures, and my breathing grew ragged as I crawled out of the cave. The berries I refused to eat yesterday look really appetizing right now.

I instinctively reached for it, gobbling it up to fill my belly, the taste so sour I almost spat it out.

And for the second time in my life, I blacked out.

When I regained my consciousness, I felt like I had a fever, but it was manageable than it used to be. Little green appeared to be nibbling on a few of the vines as it ceased its actions when it got caught.

DAY 2 IN THE GABJIN JUNGLE. THE TOWER ACKNOWLEDGES YOUR TENACITY.

BODIES CONSTITUTION IMPROVED

This message confused me more than anything so far. Is the organization called the tower, or is it just an individual?

So many questions but few answers.
