Chapter 10: "I am Weak"
Sumit's POV:
On a first look basis, I can confidently say that these guys are weaker than me, but after the system's advice, I decided not to stand out too much in front of them.
This worked like a charm , because in the next moment,
"Hey! You! quickly come down." Out of the 3 boys present the one with a rather large build and a deep voice yelled at me.
"Well, that's one way to be awfully rude during your first meeting with someone." I did not say these words out loud but quietly followed his instructions.
"Who are you and what are you doing here!!?" The man practically yelled at Sumit even though he was right in front of him.
Sumit almost lost his patience and wanted to punch him, but he restrained himself.
"I-I am Sumit Ahuja and I am an MBBS student who lives in this dormitory." ,Sumit stuttered and managed to speak very timidly.
The man seemed satisfied seeing him act timidly and had a huge grin on his face.
"Look at this loser, and people put them on a pedestal. Once it's a moment of crisis they can only just whimper like cowards." The man started to say this out of nowhere.
[Host I think this poor chap escaped from the psychiatry wards.]
"I sincerely hope so he is a patient.", Sumit said inwardly.
"Now, you wimp why don't you tell us where is the food storage facility of this dormitory." , the man again yelled at Sumit.
"I w-will tell you but please don't do anything to me." Sumit's voice was now cracking but he was actually controlling his laugh.
"It's on the third floor, Now please let me go." Sumit said.
"Since you helped us we gladly welcome you to our kingdom." The man said with a smile on his face.
"Kin-kingdom what the hell are you talking about?" Sumit said in absolute disbelief.
The man's smile vanished and he slapped Sumit on his cheek heavily.
Sumit was not hurt but he pretended to be flung away by the force.
"System I now seriously think that they are mentally ill. Why the hell are they talking about a kingdom?" Sumit asked inwardly.
Before the system reply back, Sumit was helped up by another guy to stand up.
The guy said, "Sir Rana please forgive him, he does not know about our rules." With a pleading voice.
Rana was visibly pleased by his praises and said, "Then educate him Sahil, otherwise I would not be so merciful next time. Now follow me to the 3rd floor."
As Rana turned around and walked up he thought, "Did I hit him too lightly?"
"Hey are you alright?", Sahil asked Sumit.
"Yes, thank you very much for helping me. Who are you guys and what do you mean by kingdom." Sumit asked.
The other guy who was silent till now spoke up, "You must have heard the voice of your Guardian right?"
Sumit nodded thinking about the system.
"So apparently among us there are humans who are chosen as king candidates by the Guardians." Seeing that Sumit was still listening he continued.
"That man Rana is left hand man of one of them. His name is Shaheen and he has established his kingdom after clearing out one of the areas in the college campus."
"By the way myself Irfan and this girl here is Sapna, we are also MBBS students and are currently in our first year."
Sumit looked around to see Sapna who was looking at him but when their gaze met she quickly turned her head.
"Interesting.." , Sumit thought.
"Let's talk more as we climb up otherwise Rana would be mad at us.", Sahil said.
As they were climbing the stairs Sahil asked.
"By the way which year you are in?"
"I am currently in my final year as a MBBS." Sumit replied.
Hearing this Sahil and Irfan replied in union, "Sorry for our informally earlier Sir!".
"Don't fret over it now and tell me, Why are you so afraid of Rana?"
Hearing this Sahil and Irfan looked at each other and Irfan replied,
"Sir, you must know that we can gain levels by defeating zombies like in rpg games?"
"Yes, I know." Sumit replied.
"So the thing is that Rana is currently at Level 3 right now and he is easily able to destroy those zombies with the metal pole he is carrying."
Hearing this Sumit vaguely remembered Rana carrying a metal rod.
"So what level are you guys currently at?" Sumit asked.
They both chuckled awkwardly, "We both are level 1 with exception of Sapna who is at level 2."
"No need to be embarrassed I am at level 1 as well." Sumit chuckled awkwardly.
"I mean how can we just start killing zombies after getting used to having peaceful lives."
Irfan complained.
"Yeah you are right." Sumit also affirmed.
"Am I the only freak here system?" Sumit asked himself.
[I already told you host you are a maniac]
While this talk was happening Sapna was thinking something else.
SAPNA'S POV:
"When I first saw him, I honestly thought he was a wimp. But after seeing that interaction between Rana and him, I believe he us hiding something. It would best to use him rather than make an enemy of him."
He thought was interrupted when…
"HEY! YOU SLOWPOKES GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE QUICKLY." Rana yelled from 1st floor.
Sumit and others hurried up.
And in front of them laid the ruins of Sumit's battle with the Mana Abomination from last night.
Looking at the rubble and destruction Rana gulped and looked at Sumit.
Sumit quickly started shivering, "I did not see it but I could hear many of those zombies fighting all night." He paused…
The others looked at him to continue speaking and he said.
"But suddenly there was a loud bang and then all noises died down. I guess there was a creature here last night who was more dangerous than those zombies."
Hearing his account of the incident everyone audible gulped.
