Chapter 11: Illusion
Hearing Sumit's account of the incident, Rana quickly composed himself and said.
"Look at this wimp, if you are so shaken by some random zombie then you would surely faint when you see my power." He said these words to regain his confidence but his body language betrayed him.
"Yes we understand Sir Rana." Sahil said
Rana was visibly pleased, and started ascending the stairs again.
But his expression did not last long enough before he saw many corpses of zombies on the staircase.
The zombies heads looked like they exploded into pieces.
Everyone except Sapna was shook by this display. Her eyes currently staring at Sumit.
"Sir, you were amazing that you survived during this bloodbath last night.", Sahil said in a hushed voice.
"No, I just got lucky.", Sumit said with a bashful expression.
[Host you sure love to hear your praises]
Sumit ignored that comment and asked Irfan.
"By the way how did you guys managed to survive last night?"
Irfan replied, "We were lucky that we were not in the dorms during that time and thus we were able to avoid getting cornered."
"But that only gave us a limited amount of time as we were in the hospital premises during that time. Me and Sahil."
Sumit nodded.
Irfan continued, " Then as we were getting cornered by the zombies we managed to run into Shaheen's group and thus were able to survive."
While talking they finally reached the mess and what awaited them inside them was not much different from before. Zombie corpses were lying all over the mess.
By this time Sahil and Irfan too started to have their suspicions about Sumkt.
But Sumit acted nonchalant.
"Everyone quickly hoard the supplies." Rana said with a grave tone.
As the group started to load the supplies in their backpacks.
Sumit looked around the place with nostalgia and reminded his time here.
This would be probably be the last time he would be here.
15 MINUTES LATER
The group had emptied the storage room and were ready to move now.
"Let's go now." Rana said with his eyes darting around with vigilance.
As they descended Rana was completely quiet as if he was afraid of attracting the creature responsible for the massacre.
When they finally got out of the building he finally sighed with relief.
Before they could take another step towards the destination, the group saw a girl stumbling from behind the dorm building.
"Hel-Help me!" the girl fell flat on the ground after muttering these words.
From their sight only half of the girl's body was visible.
As Rana started to move towards the girl, Sapna shouted.
"Hey what are you doing?!"
Rana paid no attention but Sumit's eyes were currently focused on the "girl" which was not human but just a zombie and it was only standing at a distance looking at their group.
"Looks like it is using some kind of skill, maybe a Skill that causes hallucination."
Sumit spoke out loud as he stepped forward.
[The reason why you are not affected is because your INT is higher than the limit of the skill.]
The system informed him.
The eyes of others were now focused on Sumit who was walking forward.
But currently Sumit was looking at the building adjacent to his dorm.
[I can sense more than 50 lifeforms in the building host] the system said.
Hearing this Sumit quickly said,
"Everyone!! Stand with your backs facing the dormitory."
Before they could ask the reason, Sumit heard a huge roar coming out of the adjacent building and a horde of zombies started to walk out.
There was Approximately 100 zombies in the horde and they were 50 metres away.
"This is going to be a problem." Sumit said as he looked at Rana who was slowly nearing the zombie.
"Although I hate him, but to maximize the chances I must save him." Sumit said.
"You three, I need you to buy time for me, just hold on for 1 minute while I finish that other zombie and save Rana."
Before the trio could say anything, they felt wind gush past their faces as Sumit aunched himself towards the zombie targeting Rana.
