After accompanying Rosmontis around Rhodes Island for a long time, they only returned to the recuperation room when the Doctor arrived and said Rosmontis needed rest as she was still recovering.
After seeing Rosmontis fall asleep, Perfumer and another Doctor told Kanna, "Currently, Rosmontis has only two remaining memory points within Rhodes Island: one is Amiya, and the other is you. And it seems her memory of you is much deeper than of Amiya. So, we hope you visit her more often lately, as this will be very beneficial for the treatment of her amnesia."
Kanna nodded, promising that she would visit Rosmontis every day during this period.
After leaving, Amiya said to Kanna, "Do you remember the person I mentioned to you before? I believe Rhodes Island currently needs his support, so I hope to bring him back. This matter requires the support of the Elite Operators, and I also hope you can support my decision."
Kanna nodded, "Of course, if you hesitate, I will stand behind you and pave the way. If you decide to move forward, I will stand in front of you and clear the obstacles. This is Kanna and Amiya's promise."
Amiya was very happy to receive Kanna's support. She said, "Although Doctor Kal'tsit does not wish for his return, I will persuade her. Just wait for my good news!"
After speaking, the two said goodbye. Amiya needed to go to the Control Room to continue her work, while Kanna returned to her solitary role as a free spirit.
As she walked, she arrived in front of Whisperain's office.
Looking at the office in the distance, a thought flashed through Kanna's mind. Kal'tsit, that old woman, had made her suffer such great hardship (referring to being cooped up in her room for several days). She had to cause some trouble for her; otherwise, how could she justify her suffering (missing several meals)?
Knocking on the door, she found Whisperain in the office. Seeing Kanna, she was somewhat surprised. After all, Kanna's previous commotion in the Control Room had almost spread among the higher-ups. As Kanna's teacher, Whisperain naturally knew about this news. She had thought Kanna would be confined for some time, but she was released after only a few days.
"Kanna, is something wrong?"
"Yes! I've finished studying the history and culture of Victoria and Laterano. I previously studied the history of Iberia, Siracusa, and Laterano with Doctor Kal'tsit. I'm here to ask Teacher Whisperain where we'll study next?"
Whisperain was even more surprised after hearing this. Although Kanna's learning progress was ideal, she had never had the concept of proactive learning. If Whisperain wasn't constantly supervising her, Kanna would fall asleep within ten minutes if a book was placed in front of her.
For someone with such a learning attitude to proactively inquire about her studies made Whisperain instinctively check the weather forecast to see if winter winds were blowing in summer.
"Hmm! Kanna, by saying that, do you have a country you want to learn about? If you have a country you want to understand, we can study its history and culture first, as interest helps one learn better."
"Ursus! I want to learn about Ursus!" Kanna raised her hand and said.
"Ursus?" After hearing Kanna's words, Whisperain fell into thought.
Aside from people from Ursus, foreigners had a very stereotypical impression of Ursus. Originally, Whisperain had planned to save Ursus for last, explaining its history to Kanna after gaining a deeper understanding of the country's stories through the Operators from Ursus.
However, since Kanna had proactively brought it up, she couldn't dampen her enthusiasm.
"Then give Teacher a few days. Ursus is a special country, and Teacher needs to prepare more materials."
"Okay!"
The reason for studying Ursus's content was, of course, so that her search for information about Chernobog and Reunion through documents would not be discovered.
In the following days, she accompanied Rosmontis during the day, and after Rosmontis rested, Kanna would gather information about Ursus through various intelligence sources.
This matter naturally caught Kal'tsit's attention, but because Whisperain had come to discuss Kanna's learning situation, Kal'tsit only thought Kanna was particularly interested in Ursus and didn't suspect she was up to any mischief.
Kanna successfully obtained information about Reunion, the Resistance, their approximate routes of action, and Chernobog's marching route within a few days.
After organizing these materials, she "accidentally" delivered them to Amiya.
Amiya had also been feeling distressed during this time. The more she participated in management tasks, the more she realized her powerlessness. She was not someone skilled in planning and strategizing, and her combat proficiency could only be described as average to above average. She simply couldn't bear the trust placed in her by so many people on Rhodes Island.
Therefore, the idea of bringing the Doctor back from Chernobog became increasingly clear, but several times when she brought it up with Kal'tsit, she was met with a decisive refusal.
When she was bored, she flipped through the books in front of her. These were Kanna's "study materials." Kanna had been carrying them around all day, and somehow they ended up next to Amiya today. On her way to return them to Kanna, she was curious about what Kanna had been reading lately.
But the more she read, the more her brow furrowed. She wasn't surprised that a group of rebels would rise up against the authorities' oppression of the Infected in the ice fields of Ursus.
Rhodes Island's Operators from Ursus were never weak individuals; from them, one could see the style of most Ursus people—rough yet meticulous.
Therefore, the more the authorities oppressed, the more rebels would continuously emerge in that land.
What worried her was that, combining these pieces of intelligence, it seemed that Reunion, the resistance against Ursus, was moving south, and their direction coincided with the route of Chernobog, a major city in Ursus.
This made Amiya worry that the two sides would clash in Chernobog.
Other cities in Ursus would be fine, but the place where the Doctor was dormant was inside Chernobog. If a battle broke out between the two sides, it could very likely endanger the Doctor's safety.
At this point, Amiya no longer felt like returning the books. She rushed to the Intelligence Department to inquire about the veracity of the contents in Kanna's newspapers and books.
Soon, after contacting the dispatched Operators in the Ursus direction, Amiya received the final answer: Kanna's intelligence was accurate. An organization called Reunion in Ursus was indeed moving south, and their direction happened to coincide with Chernobog's operational route.
Amiya immediately took this intelligence to Kal'tsit. Kal'tsit was initially prepared to reject Amiya's proposal as usual, but after reading the intelligence, she hesitated.
She was indeed disappointed with the Doctor due to Theresa's incident, but his previous cryogenic preservation was also his own wish; otherwise, how could such a large living person willingly enter that iron coffin?
