The room was bright, painted mostly in soft pink tones.
Kaya sat nervously on the bed, her small fists clenched as if that could calm her nerves.
Even though this was all "for treatment," it was still the first time she'd ever invited a man into her bedroom. It felt… weird.
"Relax a little. I'm just here to help you get better."
Sensing Kaya's unease, Logan spoke in a gentle voice.
He wasn't lying.
Given Kaya's frail condition, she couldn't handle even a few minutes of his "training," let alone hours of it.The first thing he needed to do was cure her illness—then everything else could come later.
"Okay," Kaya nodded obediently.
Because of her shyness, a faint blush bloomed across her normally pale face.
"Mr. Logan, I've seen so many doctors, and none of them could help me. Are you really sure you can?"
She looked at him with a mix of nervousness and hope.
Logan met her gaze calmly, then raised his right hand from behind his back. A green, swirly-patterned Devil Fruit appeared in his palm.
The Healing Fruit.
Like a magician performing a trick, Logan produced the fruit and held it out to her.
"What… what is this, Mr. Logan?" Kaya blinked in confusion.
Clearing his throat, Logan said seriously, "Kaya, there's a healing power inside me. If I give up a bit of my own lifespan, I can shape that power into a physical fruit. Once you eat it, not only will you be cured completely—you'll also gain the same healing ability."
He smiled faintly. "I spent five years of my life creating this fruit. Go ahead, eat it."
"W–what?! Mr. Logan, you can't do that!"
The kindhearted Kaya believed him instantly and shook her head in panic.
She wanted to be healthy, sure—but not at someone else's expense.
If Nami were here, she would've rolled her eyes and muttered, "Such an innocent girl. So easy to fool."
Logan chuckled, hooked a finger under Kaya's nose, and teased, "Silly girl, it's already made. If you don't eat it, it'll just go to waste!"
Kaya froze for a moment.
That… did make sense.
Seeing she was still hesitating, Logan pressed on, "Didn't you always dream of helping others? Once you recover, you can use that healing power to save people."
"Really?!" Kaya's eyes lit up.
Her biggest dream had always been to become a doctor—to save lives.
That struck right at her heart.
"Of course it's true," Logan said with a firm nod.
"Then… I'll eat it." Her voice was steady, though she looked at him with a trace of guilt. "Mr. Logan… I feel bad for making you give up so much."
After all, five years of life wasn't a small thing.
Logan's expression turned serious. "Call me brother."
Kaya blinked, then lowered her head shyly. "...Brother Logan."
"That's better," he said, his face softening again. He placed the fruit gently in her hands. "Go on, eat it."
Trusting him completely, Kaya didn't hesitate. She took a bite.
"It's sweet!" she said, eyes brightening.
It was the sweetest fruit she'd ever tasted.
Logan smiled knowingly—his system had already removed all the usual side effects of a Devil Fruit.
As Kaya swallowed the first bite, Logan felt a strange surge of energy run through his own body.
So it worked—the shared ability had activated.
Just like Kaya, he now had the power of the Healing Fruit.
And right before his eyes, color returned to her cheeks.
Her sickly pallor faded fast, replaced by a healthy glow.
Logan could sense her physical strength increasing—not superhumanly, but from a frail patient back to a normal, healthy person.
"I'm… really cured?" Kaya whispered, still in disbelief.
The illness that had haunted her for years—gone, just like that.
But then she thought about how Logan had given up five years of his life for her, and her joy turned into guilt.
How could she ever repay him?
Maybe… Logan really was an angel sent to save her.
He'd exposed Kuro for what he was, and now he'd healed her completely.
Kaya stared at him through teary eyes.
"Thank you, Brother Logan."
She took his hand and gently pressed it against her cheek.
Logan's smile was genuine, almost pure.
"This is something to celebrate," he said, wiping away her tears with his thumb. "No crying allowed."
"Your illness is gone. Now let's see what else that fruit can do."
Kaya nodded eagerly.
She understood right away what he meant.
From the moment she'd eaten the Healing Fruit, she could feel a new kind of energy flowing inside her—a power that pulsed softly, warmly.
It really was a miraculous fruit.
Logan hadn't lied to her.
At his suggestion, they both left the room and headed toward the kitchen.
On the way, they ran into Nami and Makino, who had just finished eating.
When the two saw Kaya, their jaws dropped.
They still remembered how pale and weak she'd looked before.
But now? She looked completely healthy!
After hearing that Logan had actually cured her, Nami gave him a strange look.
Makino, meanwhile, turned red and looked down in embarrassment.
So Logan really went to Kaya's room just to treat her illness.
And here she was, thinking… that kind of thing. How embarrassing.
Curious, both girls followed them to the kitchen—they wanted to see this "healing power" with their own eyes.
Logan grabbed a chicken and made a small cut on its side. Blood started flowing immediately, and the poor thing squawked in pain.
Kaya winced but steadied herself, raising her right hand toward the wound. A faint white glow appeared at her fingertips.
Then something amazing happened.
Before their stunned eyes, the gash closed up, smooth skin forming where it had been just seconds ago.
Even the chicken froze in disbelief.
If not for the blood still on the floor, they might've thought they'd imagined the whole thing.
After a moment of shock, Kaya broke into a delighted smile.
"Brother Logan, it worked! This power is incredible! I can heal anyone now, right?!"
Her face shone with joy.
Logan nodded, clearly pleased, then said with a chuckle, "Just remember—not everyone else first. Take care of yourself, too."
"....."
