Chapter 126: Ascending the Mountain
"Do you need Milotic to carry you?" Marina glanced at Kenji, patting the Milotic beneath her, worried Kenji didn't have a Pokémon capable of flight.
Looking at the beautiful Milotic beneath Marina, Kenji was tempted. Riding such a magnificent Pokémon would be quite something.
"No need." But it was only a fleeting temptation. Kenji smiled and declined, then took out two Pokéballs.
Two flashes of red light released Ninetales and Beedrill.
Kenji nimbly mounted Ninetales, patting her body and pointing to the sky. "Let's go!"

Kenji had plenty of Pokémon capable of flight: Gyarados, Ninetales, Beedrill, and even Pupitar could barely manage it by compressing gas.
Four out of his seven Pokémon could fly.
But only Ninetales and Gyarados were suitable as flying mounts.
Beedrill was a bit too small compared to Kenji. Although Beedrill possessed the strength to carry him easily, it would look awkward.
As for Pupitar... forget carrying people; it could barely fly straight itself. Not reliable.

The target was Kenji and the group.
"Light Screen!!!—"
The moment the attack was launched, Milotic reacted. With a soft cry, a barrier of light materialized in front of the group.
The lightning bolts slammed into the Light Screen, exploding loudly, but they failed to breach the defense set up by the Elite Four-level Milotic.
In fact, the Light Screen didn't even tremble.
Kenji used the opportunity to survey the ground. With the first wave of attacks, their position was exposed. The Electric-type Pokémon below all looked up at the sky.
"We've been spotted!" Xavier exclaimed.
Marina held two Pokéballs between her fingers in each hand and tossed them into the air.
Instantly, four of her ace Pokémon appeared mid-air.
"Teleport!"
Kenji shouted. Psychic power instantly enveloped the four newly appeared Pokémon, teleporting them down onto Mount Blackthunder.
Seeing this, the others also threw their Pokéballs. As soon as their Pokémon appeared, they were teleported down to the mountain.
Kenji also released Arbok and Bellossom.
Bellossom landed on Ninetales's head, while Arbok was teleported down into the battlefield below.
"Yoooo!!—"
Ninetales let out a soft cry. Her red eye flashed, triggering her Drought ability. The sunlight in the area instantly became much more intense.
With the Sunny Day boost, Bellossom went full firepower, raining Solar Beams down from above.
On Mount Blackthunder, countless Electric-type Pokémon charged fearlessly at the Pokémon released by the group, ferocious and relentless.
"You guys hold them off. Kenji, come with me." Ye Jianguo merely glanced at the chaos below before looking away, his expression unchanged. After speaking, he continued toward Raikou's location.
Hearing this, Kenji saw Marina give him a reassuring look. He recalled Arbok and Bellossom from below and directed Ninetales to chase after Ye Jianguo.
The others breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, they would rather face a mountain full of Electric-type Pokémon than confront the Legendary Raikou directly.
With most of the Electric-type Pokémon drawn away by Marina and the others, Kenji and Ye Jianguo had a much easier time.
Landing on the ground, Kenji looked at the mine entrance ahead, his heart still beating nervously.
"Hiss..."
At that moment, Beedrill let out a low hum from behind him. Kenji turned around. Seeing Beedrill there, a sense of security instinctively welled up in his heart.
"Raikou... should be inside." Ye Jianguo narrowed his eyes, staring at the mine entrance and murmuring. The next moment, an Ultra Ball appeared in his hand.
"Come out! Old partner!"

The red light dissipated, and a brown Pokémon with a pouch on its belly appeared before them.
