My heart pounded faster as his face came closer to mine.
I closed my eyes in anticipation of the kiss when.... Carlos barged in.
"I'm so sorry" he turned "but sire Miss Hazel is here"
I quickly escaped Kaylan captivity "you should go meet her" turning to the shelf behind me.
He turned me around "tell Hazel to wait for me, if she can't then she should leave" he said those words staring at me
"The king sent her here" Carlos said
"You should go, I'm not going to runaway" I smiled
Kaylan stared at me once more before leaving the library.
"Uhh" Carlos started
"What's going on between you two?" He asked teasingly
I didn't respond to him and simply picked up a book about witches, I opened the book to start reading but Carlos remarks made me halt.
"These books are supposed to serve as a source to learn more about our enemies" he said
I laughed nervously "how so"
"Well sire hates witches" he said
And my smile vanished not just my smile all the vibrant color in my face vanished with no trace.
Kaylan hates witches and i am a witch
"Why?"
"Because they are evil" his voice was filled with hatred now, the usual funny and playful Carlos was gone
"How is that possible? They saved my life" i said
"I know right, it makes me wonder who exactly you are" he stared at me
"What!!"
"Just joking, your blood was normal when I checked"
He probably checked before my awakening.
"Why do you hate witches?" I asked
But I knew this wasn't mere hate, it was loathing but why?
"They are responsible for sir's condition. Sir is different from normal people, he never knew what parents love is... And the king, his uncle only use him as a killing machine"
"What does that have to do with witches?" I asked, I could understand he had a Terrible childhood but what does it have to do with us.
"They killed his parents" he said clutching his fist, hus knuckles turning white.
If I told him I was a witch now, he'd probably kill me.
"They killed his what?" I was shocked.
"Yes and they forced him to serve the King" he added
"I don't understand force"
"They cast a spell of loyalty on him, and now he does everything the king orders" he hit the table next to him
I jolted, I can't lie, I was pretty scared to the bone.
"Sorry" Carlos apologized
"I must have scared you"
"No... No you didn't" i forced a smile
"Sir, you are back" Carlos cheerful self was back
I turned to kaylan, i tried to smile but I couldn't. I felt guilt surging in my chest.
Are we really responsible for all those crimes?
But it wasn't me, Kaylan would you blame me when you find out who I am?
"What did you say to her?" Kaylan asked After looking at me for a while
"Nothing much"
"He told me about why you hated witches" I said
"Then I'll excuse you both" Carlos left when Kaylan came closer to me.
I didn't want to go back to that chapter we were in.
"So, would you mind telling me your story?" I asked sitting on the couch as he sat next to me.
"I don't have a story" he said resting his head
"Then, I'll wait till you are ready" i said placing my hand over the other trying not to show how nervous I was.
"My mother isn't dead if that's what Carlos told you" he said without looking at me.
I turned to him "then where is she?"
"Locked away... That's all the story for today" he smiled.
"Okay, you should get some rest..." He said as he stood up "And consider what I proposed earlier" he added before leaving the library.
I felt heat rush to my cheeks.
And with that Kaylan left for his room, and I went to mine... I wanted to see Zephyrus... And when I closed my eyes i was in that cold place.
"Zephyrus, thank goodness" I rushed towards him
"Kaylan... His parents... The witches" i said trying to gesture with my hands
"I know what you are about to ask, so Calm down" he smiled warmly
"Then, what's the answer" I asked.
"The answer is a story" he said.
"The story about two best friends" he started
"Don't tell me it's the witch and his father" I said
"No, Luna. It's their love interest" he said

"The women they loved were best friends.

But way before she met him she met a witch called seraphina.... They met by the river, back then seraphina was free spirited, she took the princess as a friend.
And the both girls always net up by the river and played for hours, soon seraphina started going into the palace to visit Aurelia... When sera visit and saw Draven she knew who he was but didn't expose him.
Time went by and Draven had to leave... When the new king was selected he needed Ally, so Draven came back.. but this time as the dragon lord... And made the king an offer..
An offer to give the king an army that would conquer empires for him as long as he gave his sister in return
Corbin, the king was a greedy man. So Draven added and a child Born of my blood.
And Corbin greed was finally quenched,
the princess on the other hand didn't know that the dragon king was Draven until Sera told her.
And she married him... But Draven only cares about Aurelia with time Aurelia became pregnant and the baby inside of her was a weapon promised to the king.
During Aurelia's pregnancy her brother went to visit and requested the dragon king make a chain for him made out of dragon scale.
The dragon king agreed and in return he could let Aurelia keep her baby for a year.
The chains were sent to the witches....
In the witches world, Zephyrus has met Seraphina and had already grown to like her, he stayed with her since Aurelia was now married.
And they loved each other deeply, so they spent nights together... But nobody found out.
Days before the chains were to be used, Seraphina had confined in her friend about her newly found love.
Draven happened to hear his name and recognized the man.
So he had Aurelia write a letter using Seraphina writing, claiming he wanted to plan a surprise marriage for them.
Though Aurelia didn't understand, she trusted Draven alot so she did it.
Draven sent the letter to the king telling him it could lure Zephyrus into the trap.
And Zephyrus fell for it because before they sent it they had him look for something, so his attention wasn't on Seraphina all day
After he was looked up, they didn't spare seraphina and killed her.. but a kind witch helped her heal
Lunara, her daughter was small by nature, it took a whole years for her belly to show signs of pregnancy.
At that time in Nytherra the king had gone back for the baby and Aurelia found out about Draven's deal with the king.
She felt heartbroken, and wanted to get revenge on Draven, she wanted him to lose her forever like she lost her son.
She went to meet Zephyrus and asked that he sealed Draven away... Zephyrus lacked the power because of the chains.
Aurelia helped him get Draven's dragon — blue flame, it's name after the color of it's flame. She brought it's blue flame to Zephyrus, and when the flame entered Zephyrus... He got his powers back.
But still couldn't break the chains. Since she helped him, he helped her too and sealed Draven with a curse that if he every time tried breaking Aurelia would be hurt.
She went to her brother to plead for her son back but the king refused.... Then Aurelia swore that she just wanted to be close to him, she wouldn't take him away.
The greedy king had still took both Aurelia and Realith, now known as kaylan to Zephyrus that he should cast a spell — if Aurelia ever addressed Realith as her son then Realith shall die, and Realith shall be a soldier who only listen to him.
Zephyrus didn't want to do it until Aurelia begged him that this was her only chance to be with her son. Given as she was Seraphina's friend he agreed and placed a curse on Aurelia, a spell on Kaylan too
The king changed Realith to Kaylan, Aurelia became a maid beside Kaylan and never asked for more.
And Seraphina stayed with the witch who helped her and gave birth to her baby — Lunara.
Zephyrus yearned to see the woman he loved again unaware that she had already given birth... No matter how hard he tried he couldn't find her."
