Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Spending Holiday With Callum

Ever since Edith had had a strange dream all night, she hadn't been able to focus on anything in the morning. She was now wearing a bright knee-length dress that Callum had bought her. Her cheeks were flushed as she stared at her adorable appearance in this beautiful dress. She hadn't expected Callum to buy her a dress she had always loved. She admitted that only Callum could understand her tastes, compared to Cliff, who had always communicated with her but still didn't know her.

Speaking of Cliff, Edith was still curious about her dream last night. Was it a sign that her marriage to Callum would not be approved, or was it just a piece of her past coming back to her? The question now was, what was the relationship between Cliff and Callum? Were they siblings? However, Edith remembered Cliff's story about being an only child. So, who was Callum really? Should she ask that trivial question today?

Meanwhile, Eliana, unaware of her parents' problems, continued to smile happily as she donned her fairy costume. She jumped up and down happily on the bed, gazing at her mother.

"Mom! I look like a fairy now."

Edith burst out laughing as she held her little princess. "This costume suits you perfectly. You should thank Uncle Callum."

At the same time, Callum entered the guest room with Erdin. His gaze wasn't focused on his daughter, but rather on his ex-girlfriend's beauty, which made his eyes sparkle. The yellow, fringe-patterned dress symbolized her cheerful personality in his eyes. He desperately wanted his beloved to wear the dress he had given him every day.

"You really look good in that dress," Callum praised, giving two thumbs up.

Edith smiled shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you for giving me this beautiful dress. It must be expensive, I have to pay you."

"There's no need, because you've already given me so much. In return, I'll give you something you'll definitely love."

"Mom is really beautiful!" Erdin jumped up and down as he ran to his mother.

"It's all thanks to your father who bought this dress for me."

"Dad! Do I look like a fairy now?" Eliana asked, jumping up and down on the bed.

Callum immediately picked up his little girl enthusiastically. "Of course. You look so cute in your fairy costume." His eyes were fixed on the clock on the wall. "How about we have breakfast first? I made you omelet rice."

"Really?" Edith replied happily, making Callum laugh too.

"I knew you'd like omelet rice. I'm sure you'll love them even more if you try mine."

Callum was delighted to see all his family members gathered around the dining table. Usually, he enjoyed breakfast with just his son, but now the house was filled with color with the presence of his beloved woman and her daughter. He was increasingly impatient to see the DNA test results, which proved he was the biological father of his twins. Then he didn't need to pretend anymore. He would immediately throw Edith a wedding. All that was left was to find evidence that the accident five years ago was no ordinary accident.

Edith tasted Callum's homemade omelet rice for the first time. Just one spoonful brought tears to her eyes and a warm feeling to her heart. She loved the exquisite taste of Callum's omelet rice. She could feel his sincerity when he cooked it for her that morning.

"I really like your omelet rice."

Callum gave his beloved a few spoonfuls of omelet rice. "Then I'll give you my portion."

Edith shook her head quickly. "No need. You'll get hungry if you don't eat."

"Edith, I actually really enjoy hearing people compliment my cooking. You're the only one who dares to praise my cooking so openly."

"But, I'm speaking the truth. If your cooking wasn't delicious, I wouldn't have praised you so effusively."

Callum's gaze fell on his little daughter, who was devouring her omelet rice with gusto. "Our daughter really likes my omelet rice."

"I want to taste the food dad makes every day."

Edith stroked her daughter's head gently. "Just pray that everything goes smoothly."

"The results will definitely be what you want," Callum said, casually stroking his ex-girlfriend's head slowly. "I want to do so many things with you, too."

"I want to too."

Erdin stared at his overly beautiful mother with sparkling eyes. "I really like seeing you now. Dad should buy you more pretty clothes."

"Don't worry, my son. After this, I'll take your mother shopping."

"But what if we postpone it for now? Until the DNA test results come back?"

Callum rested his chin on his hand and nodded. "Okay, if that's what you want. I'll definitely oblige."

For now, Edith was more curious about the relationship between Callum and Cliff. Up until now, the two men had been reluctant to tell her anything. If she knew the biggest secret, then she could be sure who she would marry in the future. This holiday, she wanted to focus on Callum. She was starting to open up to him so he wouldn't hide anything from her anymore. Especially since Callum had been opening up to her recently.

While the kids were watching cartoons in the living room, Callum quietly touched Edith's hand. Edith's reaction lingered in her mind as she stared at Callum, who smiled sweetly at her.

"Callum..."

"I want to extend my holiday today. I love spending time with you, Edith. Today is the most beautiful holiday in my life."

"Me too. I used to feel lonely every time I spent a holiday for five years. I didn't remember anything and only had Eliana in my life. Now I have someone who really cares about me."

"Do you think of me as more than a friend now?"

"Actually, I'm still considering it because there's one important question I want to ask you."

"What do you want to ask?"

"I have a friend named Cliff. He once told me he was an only child. But I had a strange dream last night. Why did you seem related to him?"
