At first, Edith was surprised to be suddenly kissed by Callum for the first time. Even though their relationship was now just as friends, Callum kissed her without thinking. Even though she had never been kissed by anyone in her life, she really liked her first kiss, which felt beautiful and sweet with Callum. She felt the energy of affection that Callum channeled, making her heart bloom and wanted to enjoy this moment longer. She had guessed that Callum's purpose in inviting her to talk in the room was so he could do a scene that only adults were allowed to do.
The kiss lasted only a short time, but Callum slowly parted his lips and immediately lowered his head in shame. He couldn't believe he'd completely lost his mind, kissing a woman with amnesia, and they'd only been friends for a week. He didn't dare look at those red lips that continued to tempt him.
"Sorry, I've really lost my mind."
Edith smiled casually, gently stroking the back of Callum's hand. Since Callum had dared to kiss her, she wouldn't consider him a friend anymore.
"Callum, I really enjoyed my first kiss."
His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. "Really? In the last five years, you haven't kissed another man?"
"No. Even Cliff has never kissed me."
His smile widened at this happy news. His arms wrapped tightly around his lover's slender body. "Thank God, I'm so relieved."
"Are you that happy to hear that?"
Callum cried happily as he wiped his wet eyelids. "Yeah, at first I thought you'd really forget about me and that you'd think of me as a crazy guy who stole your first kiss."
"I won't. From the first time I saw you, I had a strong feeling that you were the right man for me." Edith lowered her head. "Although I'm still really embarrassed to say it."
"Edith, if you believe in yourself and follow your heart, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I've been so nervous around you that I've even asked the kids to support our relationship."
Edith folded her arms. "So, Erdin dares to call me mommy because you taught him?"
Callum moved his lips closer to the red ones in front of him. "Eliana also likes to call me dad. Actually, kids are smarter than us. Even Eliana was very brave enough to call me dad when I was soothing her from a nightmare."
"But why did you plan all this so secretly? If I had known from the start that you were my lover, I wouldn't have acted so innocent."
"Do you know why I recruited you as a secret nanny? Instead of just proposing to you?"
"Why?"
"I don't want you to be in any more danger. Especially now that you still have amnesia, you don't know all the truth."
Edith rested her chin on her hands. "Actually, I wanted to ask you one more thing because I had a strange dream last night. It seems like my memory has been coming back lately since we've been in contact."
"What did you dream about?"
"I don't know if this is true or not. It seems like our relationship—"
drrt…drrt…
Hearing the phone vibrate on the table, the couple had to pause their conversation. Callum rolled his eyes as he stared at the screen, revealing the caller ID—a woman he hated so much.
"What's up with calling me all of a sudden? Don't you have anything else to do on your day off?!"
"Callum, it's unusual for you to scream when I call you. Did I call you at a bad time?"
"Yes, you contacted me at the wrong time."
"What are you doing now?"
"I'm playing games with my son right now."
Hearing Callum blatantly lie made Edith laugh so hard her jaw felt stiff. She couldn't believe Callum would go to such lengths to protect her. She didn't know who was contacting Callum now, but she really enjoyed his response.
Meanwhile, Callum was still furious about communicating with this cunning woman on her day off. He was already happily enjoying this sweet moment with his girlfriend. Both then and now, everyone loves to interfere in his relationships.
"But, why didn't I hear your son's voice earlier?"
"So what if my son's voice isn't there? He looks tired because I've been beating him all this time."
"If I were to contact you now, wouldn't you be losing and him happy? That seems very strange."
"So, you don't believe me?!"
"Callum, I mean–"
"I'm so disappointed in you. Don't ever bother me on a holiday again!"
Callum immediately ended the call. A harsh sigh escaped his lips. He was worried his girlfriend would be frightened by him yelling at someone so harshly.
"By the way, did I scare you just now?"
Edith shook her head quickly. "No. I think it's natural for you to be angry about someone bothering you on your day off." Her head lowered. "I didn't expect you to use Erdin as an excuse to protect me. Thank you, Callum."
"That person must not know that I am with you."
Edith grew increasingly curious. Who was "that person" Callum was referring to? Was Callum hiding something else? However, this didn't mean she hated Callum just because of this. Perhaps Callum wasn't ready to tell her everything yet.
Seeing the clock on the wall showing that it was getting late, she was forced to abandon her plan. "Speaking of which, it's almost time for the kids to have snacks. I'll prepare some food for them first."

A week later…
Edith was growing impatient to see the DNA test results for her and Callum's twins. Without further ado, she opened the brown envelope containing Erdin and Eliana's DNA match results. Her eyes lit up as the results met her expectations.
"Thank God, I now know you two are twins. Now I'm even more confident in considering Erdin my son."
Then, she opened another brown envelope containing the results of a DNA test confirming the genetic compatibility between Callum and her twins. As she read the results, her eyes widened, and the papers fell to the floor one by one.
