Chapter 13 - Episode 13 - The Truth

Chapter 13 - The Truth

———————————————————

"Syr, we should head back soon. It's almost three," I said, glancing at the sky.

Syr nodded with a smile. "You're right. We can't be late—your birthday's at four, after all!"

And so, we started our slow walk back home.

———————————————————

It took us about thirty minutes to reach my house.

Knock, knock, knock.

I rapped three times on the door and waited for my parents to answer.

Click.

The door opened, and my mother greeted us warmly. "Kael, Syr—you're finally back! Your birthday starts in thirty minutes, Kael. I thought you wouldn't make it."

"Mom, how could I ever be late for my own birthday?" I said with a small grin. "Today's… really important."

Syr and I stepped inside. She wanted to freshen up, so she went to take a bath before changing into clean clothes.

Twenty minutes later, she returned, and just like last time, the celebration began.

My mother disappeared into the kitchen to bring out the cake she had made herself.

My father, Syr, and I waited at the table, chatting softly, until Mom returned—carrying the cake with a gentle smile.

"Happy birthday, Kael," they all said together as she set it in front of me.

I closed my eyes and made a wish. I hope this peaceful life never changes. Then I blew out the candle.

"Happy birthday, Kael," they repeated, their voices full of warmth.

My mother smiled tenderly. "You're the most precious thing that's ever happened to me, Kael."

My father added, a faint sadness in his eyes, "I believe you'll grow strong, Kael… stronger than I ever could."

Syr clasped her hands together and said softly, "You're the greatest blessing in my life, Kael. I want to celebrate all your birthdays with you."

Then, in a whisper barely above a murmur, she added, "…especially your twelfth one~"

My father and I both heard it clearly. He glanced at her but said nothing—he knew now wasn't the time to ask.

...

The evening passed quickly as we ate cake, tasted the other dishes Mom had prepared, and talked for nearly two hours.

Eventually, it was time for Syr to leave. After getting ready, she stood by the door.

"I'll walk her back," I said.

My parents nodded. Mom smiled and said, "Go on, dear. Be careful on your way."

...

Fifteen minutes later, we reached the orphanage.

Syr suddenly hugged me tightly. "See you tomorrow, Kael. And happy birthday again, darling!" she said before running off.

I sighed, shaking my head. She moves a little too fast for an eight-year-old… but whatever.

...

By the time I got home, it was already six-thirty.

Knock, knock, knock.

Cold sweat trickled down my face.

If I tell them… if I tell them about my reincarnation… will they still look at me the same way?

Each second felt like an eternity as I thought back on everything that had happened since I came to this world—since I woke up in Ocsilaus.

Click.

The door opened. My mother's gentle smile greeted me. "Welcome back, Kael, dear."

"…It's good to see you, Mom," I said quietly, stepping inside.

Everything was neat and tidy. They were already seated, waiting for me.

My father spoke calmly. "Sit down, Kael. I have a feeling there's something you want to tell us."

I sat without a word. My mother took a seat beside him, and the three of us faced each other across the table.

Ten minutes passed in silence before my father finally said, "If you're not ready… we can talk another time."

I shook my head slowly. "No. I need to say this."

I looked straight into their eyes. "I… I'm not what you think I am. I'm… someone who was transmigrated."

For a moment, their expressions froze in shock—but they didn't panic or raise their voices.

I closed my eyes, bracing for their anger. But it never came.

When I opened them again, both of them were smiling gently.

"…You're not angry?" I asked in disbelief.

They exchanged a glance. Then my mother asked softly, "Why would we be angry, Kael?"

"I… I might have taken your child's life," I whispered.

She reached out and touched my hand. "You said might, Kael. You're not sure. And even if that were true—you're still the child I gave birth to. The one I held, raised, and loved all this time. Isn't that right?"

"…Y-yes," I said, my voice trembling.

I hesitated for a moment before asking, "But… why are you both so calm? It almost feels like you already knew."

My mother smiled faintly. "That's because we did—at least, your father suspected it."

She took a slow breath before continuing.

"Your father, Carlos, began to suspect something after your first birthday. You said things that no one your age could possibly understand. Later that night, while you were asleep, he told me about his suspicions."

Her expression softened, though a hint of pain flashed in her eyes.

"At first, I was shocked. I thought, If you truly were someone reincarnated, then did you take my real child's life? That thought haunted me… and I began treating you a little differently after your birthday."

She smiled sadly.

"But then I remembered the little boy who always smiled so warmly at me when I was happy—the one who came running to me whenever something troubled him, who hugged me just to make me feel better."

Her eyes met mine, filled with warmth.

"When I remembered those things, Kael… I realized I couldn't hate you. Two years ago, you came from my womb and opened your eyes to this world, Ocsilaus. You, Kael—no one else—are my son."

As I always say—my mother is a true angel.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked at her. But before I could speak, my father leaned forward.

"Tell us your story, Kael," he said quietly. "As unbelievable as it sounds, there are ancient records of souls being transmigrated. Those people appear every one or two thousand years… and not a single one of them was ordinary. Every one reached at least the 'Legendary Rank' before the age of fifty—or so the old texts claim."

So, I began to tell them everything.

I told them that my name had been Kael in my previous life as well. That when I was seventeen, my family got stranded on a planet called Earth after an accident. I told them how my girlfriend—my only hope—had betrayed me, slandered me, and how my friends had turned their backs on me soon after.

Finally, I told them what happened on the night of the new year.

"Just as the date changed to January 1, 2030," I said, "a screen appeared before my eyes. It said: Your wish has been granted. The Master of this Reality grants you permission to leave this world and exist on another planet.

If I accepted, I would receive four rewards: The ability to create my own Skill with its description, a System, a Planetary Teleportation Scroll, and the Skill — 『Master of All Languages』."

I told them about the argument I had with my ex and her boyfriend afterward, and how I finally decided to use the Planetary Teleportation Scroll. When I activated it, I was given information about the planet I would be sent to—and when I accepted, a piercing pain exploded in my head.

"It hurt so much I thought I was dying," I said. "Then, everything went black. The next thing I knew, I was… somewhere narrow, like a corridor made of light. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven."

My voice trembled slightly.

"And when I opened my eyes and saw my angelic mother, Maria… I really thought I was in heaven. Then I saw Father—Carlos—walk in and tell us my name would be Kael."

We all fell silent. My parents looked at me quietly, their eyes full of emotions I couldn't quite read. Then, my mother smiled softly, stood up, and walked toward me.

"So," she said gently, "even if you've been reincarnated… you're still a child who needs a family."

She reached out and stroked my hair.

Her touch was warm—so warm it broke the last of my restraint.

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I threw my arms around her. "Mom… Mom…" I sobbed.

She kept patting my head lovingly. "I'm here, Kael," she whispered. "I'm right here."

After a while, the three of us calmed down. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath.

"I'd like to tell you about my power," I said finally.

My father nodded, curiosity flashing in his eyes. "Of course. We've been wondering—how can a two-year-old be this strong?"

"I… can create skills," I explained. "That's the power I gained from the first ability I created before arriving in Ocsilaus—『Infinite Creation Art.』"

I continued, "Its description goes like this:

Capacity [100,000/0] Energy.

10 Energy is gained every 24 hours. Energy can be used to create abilities, equipment, and more.

There is a 10× Energy difference between each Rank. The only exception is Infinity, which comes after Ultimate Celestial—at 100,000×."

My father let out a low whistle. "That's… quite the ability, Kael. But what kind of skills have you created so far?"

"Of course," I replied, and began listing them.

"So that's how it is," Father murmured thoughtfully. "Then it must've been thanks to 『Double Mana Gathering』 that you reached Bronze Rank at just three and a half months old, right?"

"Yes," I said simply.

He nodded. "Then tell me—whose abilities have you copied using 『Ability Copy』?"

"For now, just yours and Mom's," I answered. "I copied your 『Sword Prodigy』 and Mom's 『Angel's Touch.』"

My mother blinked. "Wait—I have a talent?"

I smiled. "You do. And it's an incredible one. It increases the efficiency and effect of all healing-type abilities by 250%."

Her cheeks flushed slightly. "I… I didn't know that."

Father chuckled. "So, this 『Energy』 skill—does it link to your 『Infinite Creation Art』?"

"Exactly," I said. "The description states that the daily energy gain from 『Infinite Creation Art』 increases permanently by 8% each time it levels up. It started at just 0.1%, then slowly rose to 2%, and now it's 8%."

My father leaned back and nodded slowly. "I see… I understand now."

"Tell me about the 『Skill Creation and Transfer』 and 『Core Connection』 skills," Father said, folding his arms thoughtfully.

I nodded. "I actually created both of those for Syr."

His brows furrowed slightly. "For Syr?"

"Yes. About three weeks ago, when Syr and I went out together, something happened between us… and I told her there was a secret I hadn't even told my family yet.

At first, she refused to hear it. But after I insisted, she finally agreed—and that's when I revealed my most important skill to her… 『The Art of Infinite Creation』

After that, as we talked, I explained that I'd recently created another skill—『Skill Creation and Transfer.』

She immediately understood what I was trying to say. Even though she told me it wasn't necessary, I went ahead and transferred ten skills to her."

I took a breath, then listed them out.

"These are the ones I gave her," I finished.

My father nodded slowly, clearly impressed. "And what about the 『Core Connection』 skill?"

"That one," I said, "allows me to select anyone weaker than myself and transfer a certain portion of my Core's Mana to them. I transferred a total of one hundred million Mana Points to Syr."

Father's eyes widened. "One hundred million? How could you possibly know that number?"

I smiled faintly. "Remember the window I told you about? It can display my body's internal data. If you want, I can temporarily transfer my 『Appraisal』 skill to you so you can see for yourselves."

Both of them exchanged a glance, then said at the same time, "Please."

They reached out their hands toward me.

They both nodded and activated the skill.

...

Father whistled softly as the glowing text faded from his vision. "So this is… our real power."

Mother looked down at her hands, astonished. "I didn't realize I was this strong… or that my cultivation was sealed."

I nodded, serious. "That's right. The seal seems to suppress your strength beyond the Gold rank. I still don't know who or what caused it."

Both of them fell silent, exchanging uneasy glances.

And in that quiet moment, I knew—whatever secret they were hiding… it wasn't something simple.

My mother and father stared at the floating screens, taking in the endless lines of data.

...

My mother's eyes widened in disbelief as she read the text. She looked as though she were seeing another version of herself reflected in the glowing panel—one she didn't remember.

She was shocked to learn that she once held such strength. My father, however, was even more surprised—because the window didn't just show her power… it revealed her true name.

The same name that even she couldn't remember.

...

"So, the limit for someone at Silver Rank is around 19,990 Mana Points," Father said slowly. "Then tell me, Kael… how much Mana do you have?"

I couldn't help but grin. "About one billion, four hundred million."

Both of them froze. Their expressions said everything—they didn't even need to compare. They understood instantly what that number meant.

Father leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. "Is this the result of those extreme skills you mentioned before—『Automatic Mana Consumption』, 『Mana Regeneration』, and 『Permanent Mana Increase』?"

I smirked. "Didn't expect the old tin can to catch on that fast."

He sighed. "Just answer the question, Kael."

"Alright, alright. You're right. The first skill automatically consumes 1,000 Mana per second. The second one regenerates Mana each time I use a skill that consumes it. It used to be 0.1 Mana per cast, but now it regenerates 5T+ per cast."

Father's eyes twitched slightly, but I continued.

"The third skill—the real cornerstone—adds 100 MP for every 10,000 consecutive MP used. But this was only possible because the skill was restricted to Silver Rank cultivation. If it weren't, it couldn't exist."

---

I leaned back and smiled. "And that's not even the latest version."

They both blinked.

"I used a new skill I created today: 『Skill and Ability Limit Exceeding』. After using it, the third skill, 『Permanent Mana Increase』, now adds 800 MP for every 1,250 consecutive MP used."

I paused, then added, "So if I were to use one billion Mana right now, my total Mana would permanently increase by six hundred forty million."

My parents just… stared.

They had always known their son was talented. But this was something else.

Not a genius.

Not a prodigy.

Something beyond human—something monstrous.

...

Father finally broke the silence. "Wouldn't that be too much for your body? Mana doesn't just appear out of thin air. It has to be stored somewhere."

I chuckled softly. "Don't worry, Dad. I've already considered that. My current limit is around 10B MP. I'm planning to create a new skill soon—something called like『Mana Dimension』."

Both of them tilted their heads.

"I know the name doesn't explain much," I said, "but the idea is simple: once my body reaches its maximum Mana capacity, the excess will overflow into a separate space—an internal dimension linked to my core. It'll expand about one meter for every billion Mana stored."

I looked up at them, smiling. "Eventually, we could even live there—or use it to store things."

They were stunned.

In Ocsilaus, dimensional storage magic couldn't be learned—it was something only those born with an innate Skill or Talent could use.

And yet here I was, casually planning to create one from scratch.

Living beings surviving inside it? That was supposed to be impossible.

And still—my words made it sound almost… natural.

...

"So," I asked after a moment, "are there any skills you two want?"

But both shook their heads immediately.

"We don't need any skills or anything like that right now, Kael," my father said.

My mother smiled softly. "But I'm sure we'll need to grow stronger if we want to stay by your side in the future. We'll never reach your level, but… when that time comes, I'll trust you, darling."

I smiled. "Don't worry, Mom. You always can trust me."

...

That night, our conversation lasted nearly two hours.

Longer than I expected.

And much warmer.

I had feared rejection… but instead, they listened. They accepted.

Not as some divine being—

but simply as their son.

And that alone made me happier than anything else in this world.

...
