"Nice work, partner."
"Same to you, partner."
Jin and Yuria fist-bumped and pulled the men out of the road. Each of them was placed in handcuffs, and backup was called since their squad car was blown up.
"Jin, listen. If they ask what happened to the cruiser, just say that they blew up."
He smirked, liking her way of thinking. "Way ahead of you."
Soon, two police cars arrived, taking everyone back to the station.
In the station, Jin helped Yuria fill out a police report before heading to the interrogation room.
"Ahh, you're both here. We questioned the four of them, but none of them said anything. From the looks of things, they seem to be arms dealers. You see the tattoos on their right arms? That's the insignia of the Brotherhood." A woman informed Jin.
Jin raised an eyebrow. "The Brotherhood?"
The woman nodded. "It's an all-male gang. They don't have a specific crime they operate in. Sometimes they're arms dealers, other times they sell drugs or even do hits on people. We keep watch on them, but their crimes don't come close to female-led crime."
Yuria opened the file their department had on the Brotherhood, reading through it to further understand their actions. "There is no pattern here. It's like you said, Mrs Karen, they do anything that gives them money."
Jin wondered what was in that file, but he had no clue if he was allowed to view it. "Can I read it?"
"Sure."
'Sweet!' Jin read through the file, looking over all of their crimes to see if he could spot any pattern.
'Arms dealing, drug trafficking, territory battles, money laundering, a shit ton of cybercrimes, and illegal gambling. It's like they drew straws to choose what crime they would commit next.'
"This right here, illegal gambling. Do you know where they operate?" Jin suspected that they would have a place to conduct their gambling, so if the cops knew where the place was, they could pay those clowns a visit.
"Unfortunately, we busted them a few years ago, and they moved their casino. But even if we wanted to shut them down, we couldn't anyway," Karen sighed.
"Why?"
"Power. Powerful people like the casino. They go there to wind down, spend their money, and have fun."
"Wait. If wealthy people get into the place, then shouldn't you know where it is?"
"Invitation only. Not to mention that their location changes often. This information that I told you was hard to come by, and the person who got it lost their life in the process of getting it."
"Hmmmm." This didn't make any sense to Jin. How could a gang such as the Brotherhood be low priority but have a huge standing with powerful figures in society while also committing crimes out in the open?
Nothing added up. It was literally as if they did what they wanted and didn't care if the authorities found out. But if that was the case, then why be private with their casino?
Honestly, Jin didn't want to look too deeply into things, and he would have accepted the fact that they were simply a part of a gang. But the random crimes that made them look unorganized, while also having a somewhat legitimate way of earning money, were too suspicious.
"Can I talk to them?" He asked. "Since they were a gang that consisted of only men, then maybe they'll talk to a guy such as myself."
"Have at it. Yuria, be on standby."
"You got it."
Jin was led into the interrogation room and took a seat.
"Heh, when the women don't get anything out of us, they send a man." One of the men chuckled.
Cuffed to the table were the four men from the truck, each of them rocking a different hair color. Blonde, black, brown, and ginger.
The brown-haired man looked Jin up and down. "He's young, too. They probably made him their bitch."
Jin didn't respond and simply chuckled. "Arms dealing, drug trafficking, territory battles, money laundering, a shit ton of cybercrimes, and illegal gambling. These are serious crimes."
"So?" The black-haired man shrugged.
"They're also really fucking random. Tell me, why the hell would you do what you did today, but also have a fucking casino? Sure, your gang would still commit crimes, but to be so open about it? No, that doesn't make any sense."
"W-What are you talking about?" The ginger-man stuttered.
The blonde-haired man scoffed. "The brotherhood isn't afraid of jail time. We won't talk, so just lock us up."
Jin noticed that the ginger stuttered over his words. He started fidgeting, and his eyes weren't focused.
"Heh. You know, there are lines the police department can't cross. They have to follow the law, and if they break it, the punishment is severe. Most times at least. But me, I'm not a part of the police department, but the Aegis Corps. So, let's start over, shall we?"
None of them could react to Jin leaping over the table, grabbing the ginger by the throat, and slamming him into the wall. He moved like a snake, quick and precise.
"Arghhh!"
"W-What are you doing?!"
"He's fucking crazy!"
"O-OFFICERS! OFFICERS, HELP US!"
Yuria was about to step in, but Karen told her to stand down. She wanted to see what Jin would do. Besides, they were gang members, and cleaning them off the streets would always be welcomed.
"Talk, and you walk out of here." Jin squeezed tighter.
"Argh! I-I'll talk! P-Please don't hurt me!"
"Better get to it before you lose air."
"Don't talk!"
"Keep your mouth shut!"
"Do you want to get us killed?!"
The ginger couldn't even hear his companions and just ratted them out. He was too scared to do otherwise.
"We were ordered to steal weapons from that company and make it look like a failed heist while the real people snuck in and took what we truly wanted! That's all I know, I swear!"
"What did they take?"
"I-I don't know! Some device! T-They said it would tip the scales of the world!"
Jin smiled, dropping the guy. He left the room and returned to the officer's side.
"That's police brutality, you know," Yuria warned him.
"I'm not a cop. Besides, you all should invest in a telepath. It would make interrogations a lot easier."
"Yeah, and they're expensive as fuck." The woman chuckled
"Fair point. Anyway, what's the company the laser cannon belongs to?"
"It belongs to Bellmire Corperations."
Jin recognized that name. It was the last name of Addison. "Wow, things might get a little awkward at school."
