Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Fierce Battle

Ezreal was not careless in the slightest; this attack was barely an appetizer for Laxus, who possessed S-class strength.

His left hand glowed with brilliant golden light, once again accumulating a Destruction Beam, preparing for a continuous offensive to suppress his opponent.

"My turn, wouldn't you say!"

Just then, the repelled Laxus flipped in mid-air and landed, transforming into a golden electric light too fast for the naked eye to catch, rushing in front of Ezreal and throwing a punch.

With a flash of golden light, Ezreal decisively activated Arcane Shift, narrowly avoiding Laxus's fist, which was wreathed in golden lightning, by a hair's breadth, putting some distance between them.

As Ezreal landed, he smelled a faint burning scent from his hair; before he could even steady himself, Laxus had already transformed into a golden electric light again and charged.

Helpless, Ezreal could only activate Arcane Shift again to dodge.

Ezreal dodged with Arcane Shift, and Laxus immediately transformed into lightning to follow, with a time difference of only a few tenths of a second.

The two transformed into two almost indistinguishable golden lights chasing each other across the grass, and their speed grew faster and faster.

"Is this truly Ezreal's real speed? He can actually keep pace with Laxus, who uses Lightning Magic." Elfman was utterly shocked.

"Did he really hold back normally? He never used such high-speed continuous teleportation when fighting us." Gray's face also showed shock.

"His strength is indeed impressive. Light Burst is the Master's magic, and Destruction Beam is one of the only two remaining attack spells from the lost Light Magic 'Sunspot' recorded in the guild library, also known as Destruction Beam."

Freed of the Thunder God Tribe, whose right eye had at some point transformed into a Demon Eye, black with a red pupil, stared intently at the two golden lights in the battlefield, analyzing the situation, "And an unknown teleportation magic."

"With just this kind of high-speed teleportation magic, I'm afraid most people in the guild aren't his match." Evergreen's eyes, beneath her red glasses, glowed with green light—her innate Petrification Magic, which, besides emitting petrifying rays, also had the effect of increasing insight.

"His physical body should be his weakness." Bickslow pointed out Ezreal's weakness with a keen observation.

"Exactly, he maintains continuous high-speed teleportation, not daring to clash directly with Laxus's attacks. It seems he's a long-range caster. If that's the case, he won't be Laxus's opponent." Freed nodded.

Gray and the others nearby heard the Thunder God Tribe's words and, though inwardly indignant, did not voice any rebuttal.

It was true that Laxus was annoying, but his strength was undeniably powerful.

Ezreal completely ignored what the others were saying, constantly performing Arcane Shift, sweat beading on his forehead.

Laxus's speed was simply exaggerated; although Arcane Shift was not instant teleportation magic, he hadn't encountered a second person in the entire guild who could keep up with Arcane Shift's teleportation speed, not even Makarov.

Moreover, and most crucially, he noticed that Laxus's speed was still slowly increasing, which forced him to increase the teleportation distance, but the consequence of this was a significant drain on his magical power.

"Finally, I've got you!" Laxus, wreathed in golden lightning like a descending Thunder God, suddenly surged in speed, and his lightning-wrapped fist delivered a heavy blow to Ezreal's unprepared chest, sending him flying.

At such high speed, Ezreal hadn't expected this lightning man to be able to instantly increase his speed, and for a moment, he couldn't react. He was sent flying backward, crashing through two large trees and falling heavily to the ground, kicking up dust.

"Good escape magic, just a bit weak physically." Laxus steadied himself, twisted his neck, and wild, dancing golden lightning erupted around his body again.

"Lightning Strike!" Laxus's eyes turned golden, and before he finished speaking, from more than ten meters away, seventeen precise golden lightning bolts suddenly appeared in the sky, striking the fallen Ezreal.

Accompanied by thunder and lightning, smoke and dust instantly filled the air, and the golden electric light and dust completely engulfed Ezreal's figure.

The seventeen lightning strikes were astonishingly fast, all falling within barely two or three seconds.

Through electromagnetic induction magic, it was confirmed that Ezreal's life magnetic field in the dust had become weak.

Laxus dispelled the golden lightning around him and turned to walk towards the crowd with an expressionless face, but just as he started to move, he heard a voice from behind him.

"This Lightning Magic, it really packs a punch, Laxus." Ezreal's strong voice came from within the dust.

Laxus raised an eyebrow, turned, and looked back. The disdain he always wore on his face disappeared for the first time, replaced by a serious expression.

He sensed many wild auras from the dust, and golden electric light reappeared around him, flashing and dancing as an electromagnetic field swept through.

In his perception, many life magnetic field fluctuations had appeared in that dust cloud, and Ezreal's life magnetic field had even returned to a healthy state.

"What is that?" Gray and the others, including the Thunder God Tribe, all stared wide-eyed into the dust, where pairs of eerie, glowing eyes were particularly conspicuous. At the same time, the figures of massive creatures also emerged within it.

Azure, amber, ghostly green, and crimson eyes were especially prominent in the dust... The dust slowly dissipated, revealing two purple giant wolves with two heads each, guarding Ezreal's left and right sides. Their bone-white fangs glowed faintly, and intense malice emanated from their ghostly green wolf eyes.

Four brown-Gray Shadow Wolves lay charred on the ground, lifeless, their bodies slowly dissipating into white points of light.

Also dead were ten Raptors, each the size of an eagle.

And two Crimson Raptors, each the size of a van, flapped their wings, hovering above Ezreal's head. Each flap of their broad wings created a gust of wind, and their crimson eyes fixed on Laxus, filled with cruelty and savagery.

Behind Ezreal, two giant frogs, roughly the size of tanks, squatted quietly. Four carnivorous fangs protruded from their lips, and their red, forked tongues constantly flickered from their gaping mouths.

Their amber eyes glowed faintly.

The frogs' backs were brown, while their undersides were slightly pale. With each breath, purple poisonous gas wafted from the edges of their lips. Merely squatting on the ground, the highly corrosive purple gas had already completely stained the ground purple.

Valley Marsh Frog!

"So you're a Mage who also commands Summoning Magic?" Laxus's face was expressionless, but his tone was uncharacteristically solemn. "You certainly have many tricks, don't you, Ezreal."
