CURSED LYCAN
Tokyo facility was underground. Deep underground. Buried beneath an abandoned subway station in Shibuya.
Kael's team—fifteen strong including him, Sera, Emma, and Daniel—entered through maintenance tunnels at precisely midnight. Across the world, three other teams were doing the same. Four simultaneous assaults. No room for error.
"Wards are active," Emma whispered, scanning with her equipment. "Multiple layers. Resurrection magic, death magic, and something else. Something I don't recognize."
"Life magic," Sera said. She could feel it through her own resurrection. "They're using all three. Creating a perfect loop. Death feeds life feeds resurrection. Self-sustaining."
"Can you break it?" Kael asked.
"Yes. But it'll hurt." She pulled out her modified disruption device. "This will sever all three magic types simultaneously. Problem is, I'm held together by resurrection magic. When I break the ward, I'll be breaking myself too."
"Then we find another way."
