Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Simon blinks for a second as the light slowly disappears, and he can feel the scorching heat from the sun beating down on him. He looks around and sees that he is in the middle of a forest. The trees are massive and overgrown.

However, he can hear something coming from his left before he can do anything. He turns around and sees a massive boar, one and a half meters tall, charging at him.

He immediately takes a battle stance and grabs the giant boar. His new physical strength is able to stop the charging boar. He can hear the boar squeal, trying to get away from him. However, Simon does not waste time and uses the move from his [Jacob's Limbs] power to choke the boar, then break its neck to kill it.

"Bloody hell. I know that I will arrive in a place where there are a lot of dangerous wild animals, but an instant attack?"

Carefully, Simon puts the massive boar inside the inventory of his ring and looks around, searching for another animal that tries to ambush him. Seeing none, he releases a sigh and looks at his ring. This ring is the [Base Builder 9000] and the thing that will let him make a base.

With a wave of his hand and a mental command, his ring glows, and a cloud of nanomachines starts devouring all the things around him. They devour trees, boulders, and even sand. All of them are stored inside the inventory inside the ring for him to use.

"So the radius is forty meters or around one hundred and thirty feet, huh? Not bad."

Simon nods his head and decides to look around. He needs to see where he was and if there is something he can use. However, before he gets going, he decides to make a weapon. He decided to make a rifle and store it inside his inventory.

He knows that his body is more dangerous than an M16 rifle, but there is nothing wrong with being prepared for all kinds of situations.

He continues to walk through the forest and notices that this is not a forest, but rather a ruin of a town. He can see trees and other plants coming through the building and growing alongside the ruin.

"It is beautiful. Depressing, but beautiful."

He can see a remnant of an apartment complex crumbling. Simon walks to the nearby rubble and puts his hand on it. He can feel his ring vibrate, and with a mental command, the ring releases a cloud of nanomachines and eats the rubble. He doesn't want to fill his inventory and decides to break down the massive rubble into its basic components for later use.

His ring also informs him that he can create a basic one-story home for himself to use with all the material he already gathered. Simon nods his head, but lets it go for now.

For now, he needs to search for a water source. He might be a Baby God from his power, but he still needs to eat and drink occasionally. Searching for a good source of water will be beneficial for him.

However, after searching for a few minutes, Simon finds no water source, and he knows that he needs to make something to get the water he needs. Simon blinks for a second when his power nudges him in a certain direction.

His [Resource] power can convert the {Resource} he has into clean water. It looks like water is considered a raw material. That is because of the [Shipment] power that lets him exchange water for {Resource} and vice versa.

If we put a number on the {Resource}, the exchange rate is one {Resource} for twenty liters of clean water. Water is a common material, even cheaper than oxygen, in fact. He receives five hundred {Resource} from the [Shipment] power every twenty-four hours. That means he can get ten thousand liters of water each day, and that is a lot of water from the daily {Resource} alone.

Sadly, meat is not considered a material. That means he needs to hunt to survive. At least he has that massive boar inside his inventory.

With a sigh, Simon decides to put his base on the edge of the town. He walks to the edge of the town and finds a small opening between two destroyed buildings. The massive trees growing through the buildings also hide his soon-to-be base.

With a wave of his hand, a HUD appears in front of him, showing what kind of things he can build. He ignores the others and immediately goes to the 'House' section. The [Base Builder 9000] shows him the house that can be built and all the models he can choose from.

He decides on the default house and presses the construct button. He looks in awe as he sees the nanomachines construct the house, and it only takes two minutes for them to build a one-story house.

"Huh? It looks cozy. If not for the depressing surroundings, I thought I would be in the countryside or something."

With that done, Simon enters the house and sees it empty. He shrugs and decides to gather more material. He wants to take over the entire area for his base, but he will start small first. First things first, he needs to create the basic necessity.

He uses some of his {Resource} that let him create a bed, a foundation for his lab, and a kitchen. Surprisingly, his ring is able to create a traditional stove, and the bed also does not cost him a lot to make.

After a few minutes, he is done and starts to think about the future. [Inspired Inventor] is powerful but needs time and resources to reach its full potential. To reach that, he needs to lay a good foundation; the first is Energy.

He thinks for a few seconds and decides to use 3 Charges to create {Solarpunk} specialization. Immediately, a rush of knowledge and ideas appears inside his head. The reason he chose this is that this planet has stopped moving. He can exploit it for solar energy because he stays in the Eternal Day area or the Kingdom of Day.

And Solarpunk is perfect for it.

However, Simon is not done. He decides to use 2 Charges for {Miniaturization}. He ignores the rush of knowledge and uses 1 Charge for {Efficiency}, 2 Charges for {Automation}, and 2 Charges for {Stealth}.

He grunts a little at the massive amount of knowledge and ideas that appear in his head.

He shakes his head and looks around. He already has a lot of things he wants to make, and he decides the first thing he needs to do is Energy Production.

"Let's gather more material and start tinkering."
