After standing up, Selene wiped her eyes, which were red-rimmed now, before speaking up, "Wait a few moments; let me prepare the bath first."
Listening to her words, Ethan absentmindedly hummed, nodding his head.
"Hm."
Selene smiled a little, gazing at his son affectionately, as she bent down and planted a kiss on his head before leaving the room.
While Selene left the room, closing the door behind her, to go to the bathroom, Ethan was still staring at the air before him, absentmindedly.
And after a few moments of staring, a thought crossed his mind: 'Am I in some smut novel or what?'
The reason Ethan reached this divine truth was that a golden hologram hovered before him.
__________
[Host Acquired]
[Memories Transferred]
__________
Reading these lines, Ethan couldn't help but think he must be in a novel—smut at that. Because where else does the transmigration in the perverted world plus system appear?
He mused on his thought before shaking his head and focusing.
'So the god or something that sent me to this world must also be behind this thing, too.'
'But, why didn't I meet the guy or whatever it was, who sent me here?' He couldn't help but think, falling on the bed.
'Don't they come and say that you got a second chance or blah blah. That's what happens in most novels. Or maybe there must be some other reason behind all these things.'
He thought for a few moments before shaking off his thought.
'Well, whatever,' Ethan thought, touching the screen hovering before him.
As his fingers touched the golden screen, it rippled, and the words on it disappeared, to be replaced by new ones.
__________
[System Locked]
[Awaken to Unlock the System]
__________
'Eh, Awaken.'
Seeing the word "Awaken," he couldn't help but think about the Awakening ceremony that happens in this world.
'Smut novel,' he thought, nodding his head. 'I am pretty sure of my guess now.'
After his inner monologues, he touched the golden screen a few more times, but nothing happened; the words never changed; they stayed the same.
'Is it just going to hover before me all the time...that will be quite troublesome.'
'Maybe some command is required to make it disappear.'
"Shoo." He sounded as though he were fending off a dog.
And...it worked.
It disappeared.
Seeing this, Eden was quite shocked. He never thought it would work.
'How do I call it now?' He thought, then, as if a genius idea struck his head, and he made a sound of calling a dog.
"Pss Pss."
And...it worked again; the hologram appeared.
'Is it a dog?' Ethan thought in amusement.
Before trying to test many other things to see if it only worked this way.
He called it like in the novel, "System," or with his hand gestures, and in many other cliché ways he knew from the novel.
After trying a few times, he concluded that the system does not work with his weird ways.
It works on his thought: if he thinks of calling it, it will appear; if he thinks of making it disappear, it will disappear.
After finishing his research, Ethan made the system disappear while still lying sprawled on the bed.
...
It was getting quite late, and Selene still hadn't come, but Ethan wasn't thinking about her; he knew why she was late.
Ethan was thinking about his future in this world; what will he do now?
Should he just enjoy this life in this world, or should he try to find the reason for his transmigration?
There was no clue for his transmigration in this world, like there was only one powerful being in this world, that was their god, Oran, and no one else was at that power level.
Because, by his logic, only a god could do that; who else could?
It was a whole-ass transmigration, then stabilizing his mind, then memories added with how he can speak their language, then the system. Quite a lot of magical shit.
'Maybe this organ guy is the one responsible.'
He also couldn't find something important from the memories of the previous Ethan, either.
'Maybe the blank between the memories could serve as some clues.'
Now that he thought of the previous Ethan.
'What happened to that guy?'
'Is he dead, or did I just overwrite him?'
Ethan thought of many things, and many of them resulted in questions.
So in the end, he concluded, he should just live and enjoy this world, all the while trying to find anything that could help him to find the reason behind his transmigration.
Ethan was not that hell-bent on knowing the reason behind his transmigration. But he still wanted to find out why he came into this world.
Maybe he could return to his original world, but it was just a fleeting thought latched with no expectation.
And he wasn't wrong in thinking about that, because who wouldn't want to know the reason why he/she had come to a whole other world?
As Eden was thinking these thoughts, the door opened once again, but this time a different woman entered, breathing a little heavily, as though coming after running a race.
She had purple hair and amethyst eyes and a beauty that paralleled his mother, Selene.
As Ethan saw the woman in the doorway, he recognized her immediately.
The woman before him was the wife of his older brother, his sister-in-law, Lyra.
As Lyra entered the room, the first thing she did was jump on him, hugging him tightly, as tears started to roll from her eyes.
"A-are...sniff...you okay?"
"Mmmh," Ethan tried to respond, but his face was buried in her titties, so only a muffled sound came out.
Listening to his muffling sounds, Lyra immediately removed his head from her chest, sitting up straight as she started to apologize between her cries.
"S-sorry...i-its—"
"It's okay, I am fine," Ethan spoke up, cutting in, as he also sat up on the bed, facing her.
"R-really...hic..." Lyra asked, her hand moving and clutching his tightly.
"Yes," Ethan replied, squeezing her hand reassuringly in return.
As Ethan's words entered Lyra's ears, she once more hugged him, crying in the crook of his neck.
"I-I am...hic...really glad...I was...sniff...worried...so...much..."
While Lyra cried, Ethan was rubbing her back gently, trying to calm her.
'Did something happen to the previous Ethan?' Ethan couldn't help but think because the two people he met were wailing like he was about to die or something.
'Maybe it's because he went out of the village. And I don't even know if something happened to the previous guy because the memory also ended at that.'
After a few minutes of crying, Lyra calmed down.
"I am really glad to see you woke up; we thought..." She spoke in a weak voice, trailing off, as her red-rimmed eyes quivered.
Seeing her speaking like that, Ethan couldn't help but ask the question that had been sitting at the back of his mind.
"What had happened to me?"
Listening to Ethan's question, Lyra's hand tightened around Ethan's as her eyes shook in fear.
"You don't remember."
Sensing her worry and fear, Ethan sighed internally before shaking his head and speaking up, "I do; it's just a little bit hazy, so can you tell me?"
Ethan's words, instead of making her worries less, made her worries heighten, as she spoke in a quivering voice, "We should cons—"
Before Lyra could finish her words, Ethan spoke up, cutting in, "Don't worry about that; I am okay, and Mom said she will do it."
After finishing his words, he stopped for a moment before he spoke up again, his voice soft, but frustration started to bubble inside him.
"So tell me, what happened?"
