The moment those words were said by his assistant and just as they fell on his ears, the steady chair he was seated on suddenly began to shake a bit .
Then he directly began to flip through the report pages rather feverishly now, he had a stupifying expression on his face, a mix between hope and disbelief, if someone were to witness him like this, he would probably think that he was possessed or something and if that person was familiar with him, he will most likely not recognize him, due to the huge difference in attitude .
With each flip of the page, the expression on the doctor face grow even more harder to discern and understand, after finish going through all the pages in a lightening speed, the hand that was holding the report began to directly quiver as if it was holding something much heavier than of a plain set of pages .
He was aware of his loss of composure, but he was in so much shock to gave that issue any mind at the moment, after all, the impossible he was just talking about, just happened to be written in those set of papers in front of him, so his reaction made sense, somehow .
He was struggling to come up with anything to say, even though a quite amount of time had passed, since he finished the report in his hand, making the assistant of his beginning to be concerned about him, but he too was in quite a shocked state when he first had a look on that data in the report .
The scene stayed like this for a few more minutes before the head researcher was finally able to regain some of his lost focus, he composed himself a bit, but his hands were still quivering, but he paid this no mind and directly asked the guy about the authenticity of this report .
His assistant nodded affirmatively and said that there was nothing wrong with the data in the report .
The head researcher then took a deep breath to calm his agitated mood, then once again began to size up the assistant in front of him, but seeing the cheerful expression on his face as he confirmed the authenticity of the data, he just sighed in resignation and began to directly ask after clearing his thoughts and coughing a bit awkwardly , saying :
So that was the reason you asked me to isolate number 40 from the other samples, not just his phenomenal affinity towards Psions, right ? .
The assistant named Maglan scratched his head a little then answered with the same sheepish grin on his face, saying :
The reason was related to this subject, i won't deny, but i did have a solid reason to suggest that .
Most of our fellow researchers were wondering why you wanted to go for that role in the Data Analysing department, but i guess everything kinda beginning to clear up now, so tell me everything you uncovered, then i will decide your punishment .
The head researcher talked about punishment in a carefree manner, so his youthful assistant Maglan paid it no mind and treated it as the doctor way of poking fun at him, he said :
I'm once again apologizing for doing what i did without retuning to you and asking for your consensual .
After doing what i did, i went to the Data Analysing department in try of understanding more about the weirdness of sample number 40, me asking you to isolate him over the reason of him being dangerous to the other samples due to his phenomenal affinity to Psions, if not isolated was actually the truth, or half of it at least, i later found that he was indeed dangerous to the other samples, but not because of his affinity to Psions, that was merely a cover up i used, so that i can keep a close watch on him, to figure out why was he so weird, but he did have a phenomenal affinity to Psions .
As he finished saying this, he looked at the head researcher's face and found out that with his unstable state of mind, he might really go berserk at any moment, so he hurriedly continued to say :
In the first day at the department , i confirmed that he indeed was a superpower magic user, but i asked the staff whose job was to adjust the room to lower the concentration of the Psions in his room, so to not create any problems like a Psionic storm or anything similar as you told me to, but i borrowed your name and lowered it even more than you asked me to, thinking that this should help me a bit more to see what was really going on with number 40 .
Then just as i was heading out of the department wanting to rejoin the others and give you the good news, a co-worker there brought to my attention, that something even more weird was beginning to happen in the room that number 40 was staying in, the room Psions concentration was increasing without any interference from outside .
I said increasing, but as you read the report, it is better to say that it was rising, it was the sample first few hours in the room and the date indicated that the concentration of Psions in the room rose by 200 percent, doubling, what you currently see in the report is the data that we collected after completely cutting the room Psions source off and making it close to nonexistent in the room atmosphere .
And as i saw the data that came out on the first day, i completely forgot about everything else and sat there in the department for the last seven days, collecting and analyzing every piece of information that came out and compiled all of that data in the report in your hands, there's no doubt about it, the increase in the Psions concentration percentage in his room, must be related to the existence of the second superpower he have, a power that allowed him to keep releasing so much Psions on his own and for a week at that, without any sign of discomfort, no it is more accurate to say that the amount of Psions he was releasing become more abundant over time, i believe we have completely succeeded doctor .
Thehead researcher looked at the assistant of his in a bit of awe, completely disregarding the fact that he have done a lot of things that could be considered reckless and be frowned upon by many as being immorally incorrect, but the project they were working on was to be considered as such as well, in this era all means can be freely used as long as you achieve your goals, i wonder whether his strong resolve would falter if he know to whome the original body we cloned belonged, but his contributions must be acknowledged, after getting punished for all the violation he committed, first .
He probably think that i was joking about him get punished for doing these sort of things, i'm now kinda excited to see how would he look like when i tell him about the punishment i had in mind for him, but for now, let's just get most of the answers he had on sample number 40 .
The doctor returned to his stern mood and said inquiringly :
So do you have a clear understanding of the nature of the expected superpower and how was it allowing him to release that much magic power, you also mentioned that you found your decision to ask for number 40 isolation later, what did you exactly found .
As expected from the head researcher of this project and my teacher, you already saw through the essence of the problem .

But he was only answered by the cold stare, his teacher was giving him, so he instantly returned back to explaining what he found :

His words was just uttered when he saw his teacher looking at him with " are you being serious " kinda look which he responded to by nodding his head then he continued to say :
I was able to confirm that sample 40 was unintentionally releasing nuclear radiation, even while he was asleep, but weird enough even though he released a huge amount of radiation, it didn't end up affecting any of the devices we have even though it should have, what's more was the fact that those radiations didn't traveled far from the sample body, they kept sticking close to his body like a second skin, but what was more even weirder than the previous weird facts, was the vanishing of that radiation signals completely and without a trace, as if they were being devoured by something or as if they never existed in the first place, i believed that to be the reason for the huge Magic Power he have, the sample is even still an infant, i can't imagine how much progress the sample was going to achieve in the future, but the data we were able to collect on the new superpower was cut short the moment that he woke up, the readings of the radiations directly stopped, with the current equipment we aren't able to find out more about it .
How many people did know about this ? .
I have made it clear to my other co-workers that the data collected must be documented and classified as top secret information and i took upon myself to delete some of those peculiar data that was collected and they were all in the report in front of you, i believe that my actions was quite discreet that not many people in the department know much about what was going on, so i can roughly say that 4 or 5 people including me know about all of this .
What a headache, tell them not to spread a single word about this to anyone else, i would have preferred it if you have come to report this information earlier so that i can do my best to stop the leaks .
But why would we need to stop it spreading, didn't our work here is almost finished, we might have even achieved more results than what our sponsors asked us to, i just can't understand, the others will know about this sooner or later so what would be the point of hiding this information now .

The doctor looked at him with a bit of bewilderment for a few seconds before saying begrudgingly :
Then what was the point of having him go through the operation in the first place, idiot, if something happened to sample number 40, no hard feeling, but i might find myself forced to skin you alive, i hope you understand .
I once again apologize for my abrupt course of action, i didn't think my actions through, but i believe that sample 40 won't have any issues in the future, if i'm wrong, i will accept any punishment you enforce upon me .
Oh, now that you reminded me of punishment, i will have you know that your punishment for going behind my back will be to not able to make any more bold experiment on number 40 or any of the other samples for at least the next 4 to 5 years .

No, I'm completely serious and that's for your own sake no matter how cruel it looked from your point of view, there are some things that if you know about, you might not able to withstand the burden that come with such a knowledge, so just accept your punishment, i know how much you wanted to experiment on number 40 and dig more to know the reason for his uniqueness, but that will have to wait for 4 years at least, you being enthusiastic is something worth noting, but to much enthusiasm can invoke disasters, take this time out and use it to clear your mind and try to fix that impulsive behavior of yours .
The assistant looked at his teacher with an impassive look for a few seconds, before nodding his head and saying :

I can already tell what are you thinking and that's exactly why i will order Morinaga to keep her eyes on you and report every step you make .
The assistant winced at the mention of being watched and by none other than the woman he detested the most in this facility, so he said while gritting his teeth in anger :
Morinaga, please sir, i will accept my punishment wholeheartedly, but if i have to be under surveillance, can the one keeping me under surveillance be anyone other than her ? .
