Int. Inside Police Interrogation Room (Night) November 4th, 2025
Blake's heavy breathing could be heard from the left of Gabriel who sat down at the table across from Stolas. Being able to see the suspect face to face, Gabriel had a sense of familiarity as if Stolas was someone he once knew. Gabriel did his best to ignore the feeling, grabbing the abandoned file, taking care to not set on the drops of blood on the table. Gabriel quickly flipped through, trying to find a place to start the official integration.
"Fucking pathetic." Blake sneered with disgust as he glared at Stolas, who sat bloody and bruised across from him.
"If you can't handle being in the room then the door is right there. If you decided to stay sit down and shut the fuck up Blake.", Gabriel demanded galancing at Blake from the side of his before looking back at the folder. Gabriel could feel a gaze on him but ignored in favor of getting things ready.
Stolas chuckles, his gaze gleaming in amusement as he studies Blake. He then leaned back in his chair, the chains biting into his wrist as his gaze shifted towards Gabriel.
"Gabe was it? You got to do a better job of keeping animals like him in line." he draws out as a sleazy grin crept across his lips. "Who knows, maybe an anonymous complaint on how Blake conducts his life as a police officer will make its way to the media."
Blake was about to jump up from his chair, but one look from Gabriel kept him in place. Gabriel's shoulders tensed with annoyance at the situation and another emotion he couldn't quite name before softening again. A small headache formed, and he wanted to do nothing but finally go to sleep.
Gabriel let out a long enervated sigh. "This isn't the time for jokes." he grimaced as he flipped open the pages of the case file. "The official question for the suspect Stoals for the kidnapping and murders of six victims will begin at 9:05 PM on November 4th, 2025."
Gabriel pulled out three pictures and carefully laid them out side by side in front of him. Each picture showcasing a now dead victim with their throats cut with surgical precision. The pictures show the corpses with lacerations all across all across the torsos, the bodies hung upside down with arms spread apart, dried blood streaks across the faces.
Gabriel's features tightened as he laid down each photo; Blake watched with rapt attention as he focused on Stolas' reaction to every photo with barely concealed repulsion. "Stolas, vigilante known as Tzitzimime. His voice simmered with repugnance. "No known last name, orphaned at 8, bounced between foster homes, before joining the military at 18, getting an honorable discouraged 6 years later and have been off the grid since." he listed systematically
"Missing a tad bit there. I had a younger brother, who was forcefully separated from me when our parents died." Stolas affirmed his eyes shifting momentarily towards Blake before glancing down at his wrists, shifting them against the chains.
Gabriel's eyes moved from the photos to stolas before returning to the case file. "Noted." he acknowledged, grabbing a pen from the pen loop before writing the information down in a side column.
"Little brother? Wonder how he'd react seeing his older brother chained up like a dog. Makes me feel sorry for the kid." He muttered under his breath with blatant abhorrence. Just then, slowly, almost imperceptibly, Stolas raised his head. His messy long brown hair shifting out of his eyes as he stared at Blake.
SPLAT
A large ball of congealed blood and spit flew through the air between them before landing on Blake's right cheek. Barely a second passed for Blake to register what happened before his patience snapped and his fist flew.
THWACK
Blake's patience finally snapped, he lunged forward, his fist a blur of motion pushing Gabriel out of the way. His fist connected with Stolas's jaw. Stolas's head snapped to the side, the chains holding him rattling wildly stopping him from falling from the seat,
" BLAKE. OUTSIDE, NOW." Gabriel commanded, his grip tightening on the case file, the very force of his grip threatening to damage the folder. Blake hesitated, his shoulders tense with anger, humiliation and antipathy. After a few moments only then did he calm down enough to leave the interrogation room but now without one last glance between Stolas and Gabriel, a flicker of something that seemed almost like recognition passing in his eyes.
"There's more people like him in the world that abuse the power given to him." Stolas's voice was low and full of venom. "I know people like him, hell the government is like him, just a cog in the system benefiting from keeping the machine spinning the way it is now."
"Blake, he's a complicated man" "Gabriel clarified. "The one thing that hasn't changed is how much that man cares about people. That includes the people you murdered, he'll do his best to see justice served." He gestured towards the photos on the table, each face of the victims forever stuck with the last facial expression being of pain.
Stolas' face had a cruel smile as he looked Gabriel in the eyes. "If you think those people were innocent then you're just another sheep following the herd like everyone else in the world." he taunted a slight sarcasm in his tone as he waited for Gabriel's response.
"If you were just as smart as you think you are, you would've reported their criminal actions to the police. Opening up an investigation.", Gabriel retorted despite the disgust he felt looking at the man. Stola's eyes looked just dead as if he was already done with the world.
"The picture on the far right was a man who was beating his daughter, and nothing was done about it," Stoals testified.
Gabriel looked down at the picture before looking back at Stolas. "You didn't think to show any evidence to the cops or give it to Child Protective Services?, " he asked.
A small, twisted smile spread across Stolas's lips. "Her father was a police officer at another station. Evidence magically disappeared, and I tried for years. To help her and others like her."
"So what do you think it's just a good idea to start killing people because of some misplaced justice?"Gabriel insinuated.
"I saved people. People that you could have but didn't." Stolas declared as he turned to the glass window, as if he could feel Blake's glare through it. "I just got rid of the bad people, that's what you guys like right?" he mocked before returning to observe Gabriel.
Gabriel's face tightens with barely concealed anger as he leans forward over the table, the chair screeching against the cement floor as it's pushed back. His voice low and controlled as he gestures towards stolas. "From my understanding it wasn't just the so-called bad people you murdered. You also killed innocent civilians." he refuted. "How are you saving people if you kill the people who you claim to save?"
Rage ignited in Stolas's eyes. His face contorted, veins popping on his forehead as he screamed, "I haven't killed anyone without a just cause!"
"You all other murderers believe that everything they do is righteous.", Gabriel sneered. Unbownest to Gabriel his eyes flashed a bright purple, before disappearing.
Stola's body began to vibrate the table, slowly shaking with his rage. How dare these humans continue to play innocent in his face.
Stolas' fury was a righteous inferno; he screamed at Gabriel,"Unlike your corrupt legal system that will let people go depending on how much they'll pay! Where were you when the scared were screaming for help in the alleys?! I was there! NOT YOU! NOT ANY OF YOU"
The light above Stolas blinked on and off quickly. It was so quick that if you blinked you would've missed it. His eyes momentarily flashed purple before he took a deep breath. Stolas did his best to calm himself. He knew it wasn't time to escape yet.He needed to wait, bide his time. Stick to the plan he came up with before.
Even though he tried to keep rational in his mind. Stolas's hands chained to the table in front began to shake. The anger at the humans of the world bubbling through him. A pure rage, a hot feeling spread throughout his body. Stolas let out a scream, all of his frustrations pouring out. The audacity of these pathetic officers thinking that they could keep him caged up like a wild animal. That they could turn his kin against him.
"I WILL KILL YOU ALL, TAKE MY REVENGE. I WILL RULE OVER YOU PATHETIC HUMANS AS THE NEW GOD", He screamed. Spit flying everywhere from his eyes holding a sinister gleam to it.
Gabriel turned around trembling with annoyance at dealing with this suspect. He quickly left the interrogation room, letting the door slam behind him. His chest heaving, as he took deep breaths looking at the ceiling.
Another mentally deranged person pretending to try and help others. Just like the Son of Sam thinking God is talking to them. In this case thinking he can become a new god.
Gabriel rubbed his temples, a small headache forming. Even if the victims did something wrong, taking things into your own hands makes you know better than them. Without laws there would be nothing but chaos in the streets.
Playing judge, jury and execution makes you no better than the others committing crimes. At least that's what Gabriel is trying to convince himself of. Deep down Gabriel can admit the system doesn't always help.
