Int. Car(Evening) October 23, 2025
The city was alive with activity as the partial moon reflected down on the night life. The summer heat finally gives way to cool autumn air. The leaves turning colors in falling onto the pavements. Music could be heard behind the brown car speeding on the road as it slowly began to leave the city. The smell of the city giving way to the fresh air of the countryside.
The man with all the tattoos was Mark, also known as Bulldog. He was a once major leader of the local biker gangs in the city. All skin heads deal in every kind of thing you can think of. Drugs, illegal gambling dens, "massage parlors", sex trafficking you name it. Blake at the time was working in vice, so when he finally got a tip that a big drug and weapons will be going down in the city. Blake was able to get a warrant to raid the warehouse it was supposed to take place in. The gang got caught with over fifty pounds of meth, eighty five pounds of cocaine, and illegal guns with intent to distribute.
Mark in exchange for not going to prison had to give information to Blake. In exchange for information, Blake would allow him to walk from the case. While Mark's crew took the fall after he gave information on all of their operations. Mark also gave information that helped dismantle some of the drug rings and solved some missing person's cases. From what Blake told Gabriel it took years before MArk was able to gain a foothold in any of the crime syndicates in the city again.
The gang Mark ended up forming after the police raid was secretly dealing information back to Blake. Sometimes Blake acted on the information brought in, other times he passed along to vice as to be too suspicious. He did his best in keeping Mark's information a secret in case of retaliation from any of the syndicates he works for.
"So do you believe any of the information that your snitch gave you.", Gabriel asked, his turn to look out the window. He watched as the sun began to set and the streets turned on. The sky finally turned dark as the long work continued.
Blake's finger tapped the steering wheel as he thought about the question. "I believe his gang got whipped out. While it is suspicious he waited a couple weeks before coming to us, maybe he truly was kidnapped.", he admitted, for once his tone was serious compared to his usual sarcastic way of speaking.
Gabriel nodded, already knowing the response picked up a bunch of files from the floor of the car. In the files laid a bunch of stick notes, and words all over that Gabriel had put for notes of the case. Gabriel turned on the light of the car on his side so he could better see the files as Blake did his best to concentrate on the busy highway. Admittedly they should've left earlier, but Blake wanted to reconfirm any details with Mark. While Gabriel wanted to see if he could come up with any else from the past victims.
"Want to know what if found odd?", Gabriel told Blake as he began flipping through the notes.
Blake glanced out his left mirror before switching to the further left lane. "What's that Rook?"
Gabriel went on to explain. "The dates of the people who went missing. First Kevin Black was reported missing June 12th, and was later found deadJuly 10th. Ryan P. was reported missing the day after on July 11th, and was later found dead August 9th."
"Huh", Blake replied, his eyes on the road as he thought about it. "Are all of the dates so close together or is this just an oddity?"
"Robert Beck went missing August 10th, and was then found September 7th. The final victim they found recently was Elliot Ross. Went missing September 8th, was discovered October 6th.", Gabriel answered. "From the pictures I saw all of the victims were found the same way, with symbols drawn above the bodies in blood."
Blake thought out loud, "So he kidnapped and murdered six people. All potential criminals, with a seventh potential in my C.I."
"Exactly!"Gabriel shouted in excitement. A surge of adrenaline going throughout his body as at another breakthrough in the case. "I haven't found out why the dates are so important yet, but since your snitch was able to get away from him. I'm sure the warehouse we're going to will give us more answers."
"Maybe, I have a gut feeling we are missing something important from all of this.", Blake admitted.
Gabriel snorted in amusement, "That's probably just all the junk you've been eating. I should learn how to eat better, man."
Blake let out a deep groan, a frown on his face at the response. "That's not what I mean. Don't you think it's a little too convenient that the one person to get away also has a connection to me. Also if six bodies have been piling up why haven't it been assigned to people before us."
"I didn't really stick around to hear the whole spiel of how the racist skin head got away.", Gabriel remarked before being thrown forward in his seat as the car suddenly stopped. The files in his lap flying all over the floor.
BLURRRP
Blake hit the horn hard, quickly rolling down the window and lean his head out. "WHAT THE FUCK MAN IM DRIVING HERE!". The car in front in turn gave Blake the middle finger before getting over in the next lane.
"The joys of driving in this city", Gabriel muttered as he leaned down and picked up the files off the ground.
Blake nodded his head in agreement, quickly picking up speed. "Mark said the guy wore a mask and kept asking him questions about crimes. Eventually after a week of questioning, Mark was able to break the rope tying him to the chair and escaping. Making his way towards the highway."
So guess he got picked up by a passerby on the highway", Gabriel mused. "The whole thing sounds pretty suspicious."
Blake let out a sigh. "It's the only lead we have even if it's a dead end. I'd rather at least check it then see if we can get any kind of evidence."
"You caring about finding evidence for once is the only insane part of this", Gabriel muttered, finishing up collecting all the files that fell to the ground. Turning off the light overhead as he stared out the window.
Blake's finger slowly tapped the steering wheel, his mouth opening and closing as if wanting to say something. Gabriel saw it out of the corner of his eye, but didn't want to comment. He could admit with Blake's help he has become a better cop yet the way Blake is willing to subvert the rules to capture a criminal. Sometimes Gabriel believes that some of the people Blake has arrested even did the crimes they were accused of. Only out of loyalty did Gabriel not report him to Internal Affairs. Not like it'll do any good. A vast majority of the officers in the precinct have some kind of hand dirt on their hands as well.
Working with Blake all over again just leaves about taste in his mouth, but it's better if it means stopping the killer once and for all. Gabriel let out a sigh as the countryside flew by, as the last rays of sunshine dimmed in the background.
Int. Outside The Warehouse(Night) October 23, 2025 8:00 P.M
Gabriel stepped out the brown Toyota Camry, his heart thumping as he gazed upon the warehouse. An almost eerie feeling radiated from the building, the crescent moon in the sky shining down minimum light. Making the warehouse seem even more formidable as it bathed in darkness. Gabriel couldn't tell if he was excited, or nervous at entering such a building. The sound of the other car door opening was loud in the chilly, quiet night air.
Blake let out a loud moan, the sound of boons popping in the air as he stretched out his muscles. "That feels so gooooooddd, these old bones can't sit as long as they use too."
Gabriel side eyed Blake at his statement, the fear of entering the warehouse quickly leaving his mind after his words. "Maybe if you got off your ass instead of sitting all day you'd be in better shape.", he muttered. Gabriel learned back in the car to put on his utility belt that had a flashlight, his gun, badge and some other useful things he may need.
Finishing clipping on his belt, Gabriel double checked to make sure he had extra magazines loaded with bullets before closing the door. Gabriel shut the car door gently, letting out a deep to calm down the last of his nervousness. He rested his head against the window, mentally preparing himself for what's to come. An arm around his neck jolted him out of his thoughts. Instinctively he went to elbow the person in the stomach.
Blake quickly let go of Gabriel back away as he turned to face him. "Woah, chill out Rook damn. Getting all tense and shit before we even get inside."
"Tch whatever let's just get moving the longer stay here with the more itchy my hand is to shoot you.", Gabriel growled turning away from Blake walking towards the entrance of the building.
"Not my fault you act like a scary little bitch..", Blake mumbled under his breath as he followed quickly behind Gabriel.
Gabriel overheard what he said, but not to just ignore it, deciding that dealing with Blake right now was a waste of time. Blake parked the car at the edge of the drive in case someone was watching the building. Gabriel slowly walked up the gravel driveway, making sure to be careful not fall, or make too much noise stepping on the little rocks. After a couple of minutes the duo arrived at the door of the warehouse, up close Gabriel could tell it this part of the building was mostly glass panels. The glass panels themselves were very worn, looking like at any moment they would shatter. They were covered in dust, and grim. From the limited view Gabriel could see the right side of the build was made with brick and favored traditional looking warehouses.
Blake's heavy footsteps could be heard from behind Gabriel's back, his breath heavy as he approached. "Just going to keep eye fucking the door Rook or we actually going to go in."
Gabriel stepped the right side of the door, back against the wall before glaring at Blake. "Quiet down and follow procedures", he stated his voice coming out low. Trying his best to not cause too much noise.
"Common I taught you better than that Rook stop being such a pansy. It's an empty warehouse, let's hurry up and see if we can find any evidence.", Blake argued his tone raised looking at Gabriel as if waiting for an argument.
Gabriel didn't say anything as he drew his gun, making sure to release the safety as he eyed Blake. The small moonlight casting an almost dark shadow upon Blake's face, causing Blake to look much more sinister than normal.
Blake let out a small smile as he opened his leather jacket, pulling out his gun. The same model as Gabriel's, standard issued to all detectives. "FUCK YEAH LETS GO!", he yelled. Quickly stepping forward he raised his leg and kicked the door as hard as he could.
Bang
The door, already weakened from lack of care, fell to the ground hard, completely blown off its hinges. Just like old times, Blake walked through the door first moving crouched to the left. Gabriel made sure no one was coming, before crouching and moving to the right, entering in right behind Blake. Blake taught Gabriel to clear each room when entering a building, for safety in case someone has a gun trying to kill them. Gabriel slowly made his way to the right, moving behind a desk that had papers scattered all across the top. He checked under the desk and say nothing, so Gabriel proceeded to the closed door behind the desk. Using the handle he slowly opened the door, a loud squawk came from the hinges.
The light from the moon not being reaching this far, Gabriel pulled out his flashlight. Turning it on to the brightest setting, he moved his right hand that held the gun over his left hand holding the flashlight. Keeping both pointed forward as entered the room, upon entering a small decay reached his nose making him gag. Cobwebs lined the walls, the paint peeling as Gabriel shined his light around the room. Chairs and desks laid broke around the room, what looked like red specs on the end of them. The further Gabriel the worse the smell got. Trying to not jump at every small noise as rats scattered around the room.
Dried drops of blood start appearing more, as Gabriel reaches the end of the office. On the wall was a message written in what looked like red paint. Stepping back so he can read it, Gabriel flashed the light on the wall, it read Welcome Detective Blake I've been expecting you. Gabriel felt something was off when they spoke with the C.I earlier.
Squick!
The loud noise almost caused Gabriel to drop his flashlight, his heart pounding. He saw to his left there was a dead body piled with rats eating pieces off it. The body dropped to the ground as the rats scampered off, some running past Gabriel's legs. Feeling disgusted he left the room to go find Blake so he could show him the message, then they could move further into the factor. Gabriel couldn't help but let out a shiver, his breath causing a small fog in front of, as he made was back to the door. Not noticing the eyes of the body opening, turning its head to look at him
