Int. Outside Police Interrogation Room (Night) 2 Days Ago, November 4th, 2025
The interrogation room's light was bathed in a dim, flickering light, its warm yellow glow stuttering across scratched dull grey walls. In the center of the room sat a heavy-duty stainless steel table marred by years of ware.
Two metal chairs graced both places of the table; the cold dense air tinged with the scent of disinfectant and something metallic. On the far wall loomed a large one way glass mirror. A silent reminder to whoever entered the interrogation room that they were never truly alone.
But today, on the other side of the glass stood two figures, Blake and Gabriel. Blake, a man in his late 40s that bore the wear of a man that spent decades on the force. His face was graced with withered features, rustled dirty blonde hair, some strands already greying at the root and rough stubble sprinkled along his chin.
Beside him, Gabriel, a man in his late 20s, his black hair neatly pulled back in a slick ponytail. His face, cleanly shaven and unreadable.
Both of their features were tight with something neither man could quite name as they stared into the one way mirror. Their faces weary, tired as dirt and dried pieces of blood were littered across their clothing. Remnants from the almost failed police raid to capture a suspect, the man behind the glass, a monster. One wearing human skin who sat alone at the table. His head down, face bruised and bloody. For a while everything seemed to stand still until Blake's face twisted into a snarl.
As if the monster could sense someone was looking at it, its head slowly lifted from its position, blood running down its face and dripping from its chin as it peered up at the glass like it could see them. A sleazy grin crept across its lips as it held its gaze, its long fangs catching in the dim light.
Blake's eyes stayed locked onto the monster behind the glass. "Hey, Gabe," he drawled. "Think that freak can see us?"
Gabriel's hand moved to rub his temples in indignation, already tired of the conversation. "For the last time, no Blake. It's a one way mirror. He can't see through it." He sighed.
"Yeah?" Blake scoffed with disbelief, curling his tone. "Then how the hell 's he lookin at us right now? You tellin' me he's just guessing where we are? What's to say he can't see us through it."
Gabriel's hand fell from his face to his side as his jaw tightened with annoyance. Then he let out a long weary sigh and before turning to Blake. "If you really think he can see you, why don't you go ask him?"
"Sure" Blake shot back as he rolled his eyes. "And piss off the captain while I'm at it? No thanks." He shifted to adjust the sleeves of his coat, though his gaze never left the monster behind the glass. "Besides, whoever he really is, he has already taken out multiple officers, regardless of whether he's behind the murders or not, he's basically in for life."
Gabriel shook his head softly as he moved to grab a metal chair and the case file from a desk nearby. The metal legs screeched against the concrete flooring as he dragged it back towards the glass. "Just …..keep your head down alright? Wait till the top gives the go ahead." He advised as he settled down into his seat.
Blake snorted. "Always going by the book won't land you anywhere in this city kid. I need to nail this guy, he has personally been looking for me, even targeting people I know." Despite his cheerful tone, his features tensed but relaxed just as quickly as they tightened.
"You act like a damn child sometimes, never having the patience to wait." Gabriel muttered as he opened the case file, flipping though the smooth inked papers.
Blake turned his head and raised an eyebrow, his gaze falling down on Gabriel as he flipped through the pages. "What was that champ? Care to repeat yourself? I didn't quite catch what you said?
Gabriel ignored him, refusing to rise to Blake's goading. The soft shuffle of papers and the hum of the overhead light filled the room as Gabriel went over the paperwork. He personally set aside every name for the officers that went with them to capture the suspect. Each death weighed on his conscience as he tried not to get angry. He organized each file making sure to set aside one that contained all of the stuff involving the case including crime scene photos, and pictures of the victims.
BANG
Blake slammed his fist against the glass, echoing through the room like a gunshot. "That son of a bitch!" He hissed.
Gabriel's gaze jolted up as he flinched from the sound. "The hell is your problem?" He questioned.
Gabriel remains unanswered as the sound of Blake's duty belt being taken off fills the room. The metal clinks seem to bounce off each other until he finally rips it off, slamming it onto a nearby desk.
"Blake, stop." Gabriel commanded as he stood up. "Dont't do anything you'd regret. You're already on thin ice."
Blake only answered with silence, rolling up his sleeves to his forearms as his equipment sits on the desk. "He's blowing kisses through the goddamn glass while having the blood of many people on his hands including my friends. People that died under your watch when you were supposed to command them. You can sit there playing pretty princess being a lap dog to the higher ups, unlike you I refuse to sit here and let him treat those lives as pieces of a game."
Gabriel's face flushed with barely concealed irritation as he quickly clasped his hand on Blake's shoulder, forcing Blake to turn around and face him. "Look, just wait a few more hours. By then the captain will be here to oversee the interrogation."
"Fuck that." Blake hissed as he shrugged Gabriel's hand off his shoulder. "I'm not waiting around until my owners decide to give me a command, when we could be in there getting answers"
Gabriel's eye narrowed in frustration as the hand that once gripped Blake's shoulder fell back to his side. His other gripping harshly at the case file he had picked up earlier. His lips curled with indignation as he muttered something to himself before quickly following suit.
The door to the interrogation room dragged heavy against the floor. The cool dense air and heavy smell of metallic blood hitting both men as they entered. Blake wasted no time in making his way over to the metal table.
The man's head shot up as the door slammed open, seeing the angry officer marching with a huge smile open up on his face."Ahh welcome officers to my humble abode, don't mind the blood, I usually like to keep clean but didn't have time to clean up.", the man stated playfully. Small pieces of blood sliding down his face, mixed with dirt from the capture.
"Do you think this is some sick game!"Blake yelled out slamming his hands on the table.
The man smiled even harder as he gazed at Blake's red face."I get it, you're angry because I'm being a bad host for not offering you refreshments?", he badgered.
Raising up his hand, metal rattled as the shackles connected to his wrist gleamed in the light. The chain leading to the bottom of the chair which is bolted into the ground. "I'd like to help you but I'm a little chained up", the man continued his tone joking.
Gabriel's eyes narrowed as resignation crept onto his face. He sighed as he opened the case file. "It says here that his name is Stolas-"
BANG
Blake's hand shot out to grab Stolas by the back of his hair, his fingers tightening Stolas' hair as he clammed his head down against the table. His face flushing red as he glared down at him. "You sick son of a bitch." He sneered in disgust.
Gabriel's eyes widened by a fraction before he abandoned the case file in favor of restraining Blake. "What the fuck blake?!" he barked in a mix of frustration and shock.
"NO." Blake objected. "This fucker is treating this shit like a damn vactaion! He's making jokes, Gabe!"
"What the fuck man!"Gabriel cried out. Grabbing Blake before he could do anymore damage. "We have cameras watching right now, and you decide to pull this dumbass shit."
Blake looked at Gabriel on his face, he argued. "You think I give a damn about cameras, footage can always be deleted but this asshole deserves to die. We need to do anything to get real justice Rook you know this."
Gabriel smacked him on the back of the head with his hand. Gabriel's palm turned red from the heavy hit, though Blake didn't even flinch. Ignoring the slap as he glared at Stolas, Gabriel could see Blake shaking in frustration.
"Real justice is putting this monster away in a cage for the rest of his sick life. What you're doing will jeopardize the case , everything we worked for, the lives of your friends could go to waste because you attacked an unresisting suspect.", Gabriel explained, trying his best to keep his tone calm. Hoping to defuse the tension in the room before things get worse.
The man in the chair let a small chuckle, blood bubbling up from his now split lip. "If you want my opinion I think you're a very angry friend here deep down really wants to kill me. Though from what I sense that anger isn't at me, but himself for being useless today. Just like he was useless all those years ago in failing to save his partner."
Blake's face turned pale before turning bright red, all of that rage coming forth"You sonofabitch what do you know huh you don't know shit" Blake snarled, his voice low. He glared at Stolas, as Gabriel forcibly pushed him back away from the suspect, near a chair that is near the entrance into the room.
"Blake I need you to just sit in that chair and for once the shut the fuck up.", Gaberil demanded. A small headache forming having to deal with all of this. "We are already in deep water not waiting for the captain to get here. I don't have time for you to cause any more mistakes for us."
Blake didn't say anything as he glared at the once again. Quickly making his way towards the chair, turning it around so the back was on the front. His chest raised up and down heavily as he tried to control his anger.
