My heart raced a thousand miles per hour as my butt hit the road. My bags fell along with me and I could hear the screams of my step mother and her daughter. It all happened in slow motion.
My eyes were wide with shock and it hurt my chest...how hard my heart pounded.
The black car came to an abrupt halt in front of me. It was so close to me I thought it might actually kill me.
As soon as it stopped, my father ran out onto the street and stood in front of me, within the little space that divided the car from me.
"Can't you watch where you're going?" He yelled in so much anger.
I really didn't know what to make of his reaction. Especially when I was well aware that he has hated me since the death of my mother; since the day I was born.
I heard the door to the car open and whoever it was behind the wheel stepped out.
