A loud ringing shattered the morning silence in Yuna's room. She groggily opened her eyes, reached for her phone, and turned off the alarm.
"Damn… already half past six?" she mumbled sleepily. "I really don't feel like getting up. How I wish I could sleep a few more hours…"
"I feel like I didn't sleep very well… I hope my darling slept better," Yuna muttered, still half-asleep.She sat up and stretched deeply, trying to get a grip on the day ahead.
Yuna turned on the light, grabbed fresh underwear, a bra, socks, and her work outfit either black dress pants or a long, comfortable skirt, paired with a neat blouse.
"Okay… first, a shower and getting dressed," she murmured. "Then I'll treat myself to some tea."
Her shower was quick. She washed thoroughly, got dressed, and began her morning routine: brushing her teeth and applying a subtle, polished makeup look. Just enough to highlight her features. She finished with a swipe of red lipstick or gloss.
As she walked downstairs, a pleasant aroma caught her attention: fresh eggs mixed with onions someone had clearly made breakfast.
"So she's already up…" Yuna thought with a soft smile. "Honestly, I wish she had slept a little longer, though."Entering the kitchen, she froze in surprise. The room that had seemed slightly chaotic the night before was now spotless and perfectly tidy.
Not a single plate in the sink, not a speck of dust on the counters.
"Good morning, Yuna!" Hana greeted cheerfully, sitting at the large dining table. "I made breakfast for you and brewed some tea."
Yuna could hardly believe it. Was she dreaming? She really got up this early just to make me breakfast?A warm smile spread across her face. No one had ever done something like this for her. My fiancée is truly an angel, she thought.
She took a deep breath and forced a calm smile. "Stay composed, Yuna. Don't be too forward. Give her space. Step by step." But I'd love to just kiss her right now, she thought.
Yuna sat down at the table."So, mouse, when did you get up today? I could barely recognize my kitchen it's so clean now. You really are an angel. And you even made breakfast for me…"
She looked at her plate: scrambled eggs with onions, fresh vegetables bell pepper, cucumber, tomato and two sandwiches.
"That's not something I take for granted. I really appreciate your effort, darling."
Hana, blushing at the other end of the table, replied,"It's nothing special… I'm just glad you're happy."No one had ever thanked her like that before. The thought felt strange but nice.
"You asked when I got up," Hana said calmly. "As usual, at 4:30. My little alarm went off at 4:30."
Yuna frowned. "What, 4:30? Why so early? You could have slept longer. You don't have to get up this early you can sleep as long as you want."
"I'm used to it. Getting up early doesn't bother me," Hana shrugged.
Yuna clicked her tongue playfully. "Okay, if you say so.But if I notice that getting up that early is wearing you out,I'll punish you the toughest punishment: you'll have to learn to sleep in."
While they ate breakfast, Yuna noticed Hana wanted to say something but hesitated.
"Well, Yuna… I'd like to cook for you when you come home from work. Only if you want me to…"
Yuna smiled warmly. "Of course I understand. You want to ask if I can get some groceries.""That's no problem. Otherwise, you couldn't cook if there's nothing to cook with. Sorry I didn't think of that."
Yuna grabbed pen and paper. "Write down what we need. I'll buy everything. Just so you know, I eat almost anything, but I'll be doing a weekly shopping trip."
Hana patiently wrote: rice, pasta, vegetables, potatoes, meat, fish, and more. After about five minutes, she handed over the list.
"That's quite a lot," Yuna said with a smile, "but no problem. I'll be home later since I still have to shop."
"What are you going to do while I'm at work?""Vacuum, mop, dust, and tidy up," Hana replied.
Yuna nodded. "Okay, then you have a plan. But only do as much as you want. You're your own boss. If I notice it's too much, I'll slow you down. Your health matters more to me."
Before leaving, Yuna wrote her number on a slip of paper and handed it to Hana, then pulled her into a brief hug.
"If anything happens, call me at work, okay?"
Hana tugged at Yuna's jacket. "I… I don't know how that works. I've never used a phone before."
Yuna laughed. "No problem, I'll show you." She grabbed the landline,So, let's start with a little test call first.
First, you dial the number I wrote down for you. Then you press the button with the green receiver – that will start the call.
Shortly after, my smartphone will ring, and on your end, you'll hear a beep until I pick up.
It's that simple. If you want to hang up, press the button with the red receiver. But when I hang up, you don't have to do anything.
Alright, I'm going to the kitchen with my phone for a moment, and you call me now.
Hana carefully dialed Yuna's number and pressed the keys on the phone. "Okay, now the green receiver," she thought.Hana heard a beep, and shortly after, she heard Yuna's voice: "Hey, sweetheart, what's up? Any problems?"
"No, there isn't," Hana replied nervously.
"Alright, sweetheart, now hang up."Hana pressed the red button, and the test call with Yuna ended.
Yuna put on her jacket and smiled lovingly.
"Alright, mouse, I really have to go now. I'll be back around five, and if anything comes up, call me, okay?"
Hana nodded. "I will. Please take care, Yuna."Yuna gently stroked her head. "Don't worry. Have a great day."
She opened the front door, letting in the cool morning air. One last glance back Hana stood in the hallway, shy but warm smile on her face.
"See you later, darling," Yuna whispered, winking at her before closing the door.
