Raven POV
Stupid Lucian. What the hell is wrong with him? Couldn't even spare me when I was unconscious. I should've known better. Of course, the one time I pass out, I end up in his hands.
The water was freezing, biting at my skin as I shivered, the cold crawling into my bones like some kind of punishment. I'm sure he got some sick pleasure out of watching me squirm. My legs felt like jelly, unable to hold me up properly as I staggered to my feet. Each step felt like I was walking on needles, the cramps in my muscles a reminder of just how messed up this whole situation was.
I looked down at my own trembling hands, the cold seeping through my skin like a cruel joke. I was no different from any regular human now. Without my wolf... without her warmth... I didn't have that inbuilt heater that most wolves had, that natural protection from the elements.
It's not like I've ever felt "normal," but now it was more obvious than ever.
