Having said that, could Emily truly deny that Nolan had a power over her? That one look, one touch, and he had her melting in his arms.
"No!" Emily fiercely refuted. It was just a moment of weakness that would never happen again.
He must be crazy to think that she would succumb to his charm. Not again.
Once was enough. Twice was too much. Three times?
Never.
For now, "Just get through this. One year is nothing." Emily eased her mind, not wanting her current situation to mess with her head. She had more important things to think about.
In the meantime, Emily had no choice but to abide by their arrangement as she stared at her unfamiliar room. But that was it. She was here to fulfill their agreement, nothing more.
