"I told you I needed those papers yesterday," Nolan snapped at his assistant, irritation evident when he couldn't find the contract in his desk.
He rifled through his desk, absent-mindedly flipping through the stacks of folders, not caring if papers had scattered across the table, and some even falling to the floor.
The Board Meeting was just a few minutes away. He needed to present the one hundred million-dollar contract to the board members, hoping to convince them that they hadn't made the mistake of trusting him.
"Where is it?" Nolan dropped the documents with a thud. "Must I do everything myself?" He shot Pete a look sharp enough to wound.
"I'm sorry, Boss," Pete rushed into his office, with both his hands tucked behind his back, clearly intimidated. "But Evelyn just informed me that Mr. Sawyer took it because Mr. Jones wanted something changed in the agreement," His assistant told him, looking quite tense and uncomfortable as he stood opposite his desk.
