Celine's POV
"You should be awake by now," the cold voice of Mr Cassian woke me up from sleep.
For some moments, I tried to adjust to reality. It was all a dream, my father, my mother, they were actually dead, and I couldn't go to be with them.
But I was sure that they had their eyes on me from the grave.
I sat up slowly, heart hammering. The light that filtered through the curtains hit my eyes directly, prompting me to raise my hand to shield them reflexively.
I wanted to go back to the world in my dreams where my parents were still alive. I tried to persuade them to take me with them. I hated reality; reality was far worse than death.
But if I died, then who would avenge the treatment I endured at the Kleins? I had to survive Mr Cassian, and I have to get back to the Kleins.
"Celine. Ten minutes. Don't test my patience this morning," Mr Cassian's edgy and cold voice called me out of my thoughts. I quickly rubbed off the dizziness in my eyes and rushed to the bathroom.
