Chapter 12 - Chapter 12-Shadow

How many seconds until those two robed figures passed by? On the other hand, he wanted to capture them both and take them to the grey stone world.

After that, Kyle appeared, standing still with a sharp gaze towards him. The two robed figures reflexively stopped in their tracks, looked at each other, and decided to attack Kyle.

They thought that Kyle was part of the group trying to thwart their ritual, trying to get rid of the influence of the goddess of fortune, Yarandela.

On the other hand, Kyle was shocked because in just one blink, one of the robed figures disappeared and the other stood still, staring at him.

Suddenly, a circle of shadows appeared behind him, rising upwards and reforming the cloaked figure's body. Quickly, he embraced Kyle's body, trying to pull him into the shadow at his feet.

However, instead of being pulled into the shadow, the cloaked figure was startled and paused for a moment after witnessing millions, even billions, of grey stones floating in every corner.

He did not know why he was in this place. But what was certain was that he did not see anyone else here, not even his companion.

Confused, he tried to investigate, trying his best not to act strangely in this unfamiliar place. But his attempts were futile; no matter which direction he walked in, he always ended up back where he started.

Feeling uncertain about the reality he saw, the robed man tore his wrist and immediately dropped it as a sign.

He finally decided to walk straight ahead. Not long after that, feeling that he had been walking for hours and couldn't find a way out made him even more desperate.

As he had thought, not far in front of him was a piece of black cloth from his cloak, not moving an inch from where it was. Seeing this, he became angry and accidentally hit a grey stone floating above his head.

And... A cold, piercing voice was heard after that. Not far from where he stood, the grey stone that had been floating descended and transformed into a beautiful woman named Hana Voltiane.

Without him expecting it, Hana immediately attacked the cloaked figure without mercy, but because her current strength was insufficient to kill the cloaked figure, he was able to run away from her.

Hana was a little annoyed and said, "Did he find that person and bring him here? But where did he go?"

After saying that, Hana suddenly disappeared and her body turned into a grey stone and began to spread upwards. On the other hand, the robed man ran in fear, the longer he stayed in this place, the more his body became immobile. With every breath, his chest felt as if it had been swallowed by a weight of thousands of kilograms.

Unable to walk any further, the man collapsed weakly, gasping for breath. A cold air began to creep through his skin, and unable to bear it, he slowly lost consciousness and passed out.

Meanwhile...

Kyle tried to break free from the shadow binding his body, and now he was in a different place, far from where the Flotine festival was being held.

"Isn't this the way to the house?" he thought as he tried to force his body to move.

After trying for a long time, he finally managed to break free from the shadow's grip. In the previous seconds, something strange had crossed his mind, causing the grey stones to change and teleport the robed figure there.

Kyle knew that the figure was there and couldn't get out. Not far from where he stood, there were three grey stones the size of apples floating and emitting a cold sensation that pierced his body.

Then, the grey stones floated closer to Kyle. They turned into dust and rained down from above, freeing his body from the shadow's grip.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the shadow seeping into the ground. Kyle froze and said, "What kind of strange power is that? And do I have to go back there to catch the one person left?"

Kyle took a step, choosing to go home and rest. But shortly after that, he suddenly stopped in his tracks and froze.

"Wait a minute. Weren't there three people? And why did I only see two?"

Realising this, Kyle hurriedly moved towards the location. On the other hand, he wanted to try out the poet's power he had obtained through his contract with Hana.

Kyle stretched out his hand and wrote, "To the Flotine Festival..." writing without a pen, just moving his finger in front of him.

Without expecting it, he saw the festival become transparent for a moment. After watching it for a few seconds, Kyle finally managed to move in front of the festival entrance.

He decided to head towards the haunted house, where he encountered the two cloaked figures. But as he was about to go there, Kyle saw three people fighting on the roof above him.

Kyle stopped in his tracks. He stared intently, making sure that one of them was the cloaked figure who had resisted him.

Seeing this, he decided to follow them and capture them if he had the chance. But unexpectedly, the fight caused the roof tiles to shatter, scattering debris across the path.

Kyle saw that the cloaked figure moved very quickly. Without the help of the grey stone still floating beside him, he couldn't see it, although he could still sense it vaguely.

The two men fighting him were having difficulty because the cloaked figure's movements were completely obscured by shadows. Kyle paused for a moment, trying not to reveal his position.

The two men had physical characteristics of black hair and brown eyes, one of them wore glasses and the other wore a round hat.

When the time came, feeling satisfied, the two men looked at each other, while the cloaked figure remained silent and analysed the upcoming attack.

The man took off his glasses, while his companion tried to get as far away as possible. The cloaked figure chose to remain silent, because he did not understand his enemy's abilities; one mistake could cause him to lose.

The glasses fell off and he gripped them tightly. And at that moment, the cloaked figure's body moved on its own, his right hand, which had previously been hidden behind his cloak, came out and held a sharp knife.

Without warning, he stabbed himself in the heart with the knife.

"Ugh..." Fresh blood flowed freely, soaking the chest of his cloak, and blood dripped from his mouth.

His body tilted to the left and fell from a height, landing face down on the rocky road with blood pooling around his body. At that moment, his consciousness slowly began to fade, and a cold breeze enveloped his entire body, aware of the death that was coming for him.

Feeling that the man in the robe was dead, the man put his glasses back on, shouted that the situation here was safe, and signalled to his partner to come closer to him. Meanwhile, Kyle broke out in a sweat after witnessing this. Not knowing what to do, he could only watch from a distance.

The man jumped down, and his companion ran from a distance towards the cloaked figure.

"How about it, are you sure you killed him?" asked the man with black hair, brown eyes and a hat.

The man next to him adjusted his glasses and said, "See for yourself! He's dead. So do we need to look for his other companion?" he asked, then bent down and was about to touch the cloaked man's body.

When his finger was only a few inches away from touching it completely, the man with glasses felt a strange sensation in his legs.

His eyes widened, and he immediately shouted, "Run, Havio!"

Hearing the instruction, Havio immediately ran away from his companion. But he was determined not to run, and from behind, Kyle, who knew the technique, approached with the help of a grey stone.

The cloaked figure's body vanished, leaving only a pool of fresh blood on the roadside rocks. The bespectacled man suddenly broke free from the shadow's grip on his legs. If not for Kyle's help, the man's body would have vanished along with his soul, consumed by the shadow.
