Chapter 17 - Chapter 17-Hollow Hunter

Still on the same day. 19 October. 1:30 p.m.

In the meeting building, south of Shrie, there were four people present: Syne Leonard, Finn Ushimi, Havio Zarsca, and Ren Ainsley as captain of the members, Hollow seekers.

Their troops often guarded the city, especially at night. The main enemy of this small group was to capture the Meira order, which would make Shrie a six-blood ritual, destroy the city, and take all the souls of the city's inhabitants to fight the goddess of fortune, Yarandela.

Ren already knew that their target was at the Flotine festival, performing a two-blood ritual there, but they failed. On the other hand, the group failed to capture the three cloaked figures.

Havio and Finn did not know what to say when the meeting was held.

"Don't worry about it," Ren said softly, continuing, "In that case, let me go down and capture them."

Hearing this, the four of them were shocked, unable to believe what he had said.

On the other hand, Havio was pleased and said, "Are you sure you want to go after them? Aren't you being targeted by the Order of Mercury?" Havio panicked a little when he mentioned the order.

Ren smiled cynically after that. "It's okay, this time Syne and I will finish off the order." His eyes looked at Syne, blinking twice.

Under the leadership of the Order of Mercury, Monity City. Ren had left the order, searching for the Order of Meira with his partner, Syne. About seven and a half years ago, they found Havio and Finn with their bodies and faces covered in blood.

Ren saw the blank look on Finn's face, as if he no longer wanted to live, choosing death so that the suffering would end soon.

On the other hand, he saw Havio's sad face as he looked at Finn. Ren did not know the relationship between the two, nor what had happened to the two teenagers.

The village where they both lived had become the site of a massacre by a group of "Hollows", who were searching for a rare artefact hidden in the village near the mountain, leaving behind two teenage boys named Finn and Havio.

Syne knew just by looking at their faces, giving him a suggestion that might be controversial.

"Do you want to come with us? To find the person who destroyed your life?" he asked calmly, as if his words were nothing out of the ordinary.

On the other hand, Ren was sceptical and said, "Hey. Are you sure you want to involve those two?" Ren whispered frantically, trying not to involve anyone else.

Unexpectedly, both Havio and Finn nodded, accepting the invitation and agreeing to follow the instructions given.

Syne smiled, while Ren was a little sceptical but eventually accepted their presence. And from that day on, Finn underwent a ritual to become a "Hollow".

Accepting the role of 'Adjudicator', it was an ability that could judge reality through symbols, writing, and signs.

With ink as a medium, the physical form between the two wheels of death and life was in his grasp.

When his glasses fell off, his vision transformed into a judgement machine, controlling targets according to his will.

Everything caught by his eyes was judged according to the principle of "Absolute Punishment", no negotiation, no mercy, allies or enemies would fall under his control.

That power drains Essence on a brutal scale, ninety-two percent of the total. Usually, just a few seconds later, his vision becomes blurred, but it is enough to destroy an entire district. Even though Finn only controls half of the full power.

As the captain of a small group, the four of them also want to recruit people they can trust and who will not betray them.

Ren was in charge of giving directions to the other members. At night, the group only searched for ancient artefacts and maintained peace in the city. Often, Ren and Syne had to be careful and not get involved in fights with the Meira-Monity church, but Ainsley knew for sure that there was someone in that church who was very dangerous to his troops.

Back in the meeting room...

Syne sighed and said, "Damn you, but it's not a bad idea." Syne paused for a moment, then continued, "Can you do it, Finn, Havio?" he asked, hoping that the next plan would not fail.

The plan was to find someone who was involved in Finn and Havio's fight with the cloaked figure, a young man named Kyle Xirius who had interfered.

Although Finn did not know his face clearly, he could remember his posture, and immediately told the three of them when they arrived at the meeting room.

"That power is very useful," Syne marvelled, instructing Finn and Havio to find Kyle no matter the risk.

But Syne and Ren would also join in, though secretly, observing their movements from behind.

Meanwhile, Finn found a lost item, such as a ring, while chasing after the cloaked figure earlier.

"Hey, Captain. Take a look at this!" Finn took out the ring, walked over to Ren, and handed it to him.

Ren accepted it gladly, while Syne, curious, approached and looked at the ring on Ren's palm.

"Wait, isn't this ring the scoundrel's?" said Syne. Ren realised this upon hearing it, and a wicked smile appeared on his face.

Syne took the ring and put it in the pocket of his brown coat. They both looked at each other before going off to do their respective tasks.

Finn and Havio walked out down the hallway, followed by the other two. They had left the temporary headquarters and were standing on the pavement before carrying out this task.

"Good luck!" Ren murmured, and Syne nodded beside him.

They both nodded, walking towards Shrie to find Kyle's place. Ren and Syne followed behind, heading there but choosing a different route.

Still on the same day. Exactly at 6:10 p.m. Kyle had just woken up from his sleep, and the orange light from the window startled him.

"Huh! Did I sleep too long? Damn it." After saying that, Kyle quickly ran to the bathroom.

A few minutes later, after showering, he was in his room wearing long grey trousers and a shirt. He complained a little, because the night air was different from the previous night, feeling stuffy and hot.

At midnight, Kyle wanted to leave the house to go to the south of the city to observe the condition of the ritual site.

It was 10:45 p.m. Kyle was fully dressed and ready to go. The trip took about twenty minutes on foot. It was late at night and there were no horse-drawn carriages passing by.

In front of him stood an antique house, surrounded by wide buildings with grass. Just looking at it, Kyle felt suspicious.

"How could he believe it? And perform the ritual in this house? It's strange."

Kyle tried to enter the house, but unexpectedly, he saw someone walking in through the front door.

Seeing this, Kyle was about to send him to the transparent world, bind him, and of course interrogate him.
