Raikou gasps, his eyes fixed on the massive explosion of the cloud. His pupils lose its flare, thoughts of him thinking he won.
He turns his head, eyes scavaging around the purple flames. Nothing.
"Does this mean he's gone?" he wonders, his gasp turning into a faint, innocent smile as he steps toward the lingering particles of Shinsu.
As he stops walking, his smile fades into a frown of confusion.
"Are they… shaking?" he mutters, crouching down. The dust trembles erratically — then freezes. The movement stopped like a dream. Or was it a dream?
Raikou blinks twice. Two steps back.
"Is this even rea—"
A burst of blood splatters the ground. A purple hand pierces through Raikou's gut.
Shinsu's hand.
Raikou chokes, blood dribbling from his lips.
"H-how are you still here… I thought you died. I saw you explode…" His dim black eyes lock onto Shinsu's glowing, twisted purple ones.
Shinsu chuckles. "Just think for a moment. A child killing a demon. I never thought a human could even imagine victory against me. Especially me. And if they did they'd have to truly strong… or completely idiotic."
He swings his hand out of Raikou's gut, then pushing his hand to Raikou's back. The dying child flings through the air. He crashes into a framed photo — him and the old man — shattering it to pieces.
Shinsu's smirk fades, realizing his thoughts of thrill of a fight against someone strong would never become true.
"I thought maybe the twin of a prodigy would've been quite entertaining. Even if half as strong. But now I can't even believe I ever compared this weakling to Kai."
Shinsu looks down hopelessly, stomping on Raikou's head. He grips it tilting it upwards.
"And the funniest part? That explosion cloud — it was all an illusion. While you were celebrating your little victory, I made clones. It was a risk but even Kai has limits. And his limit was he could never control multiple energies at once. And his other limit was his runt for a brother".
A sly smirk comes across Shinsu's face as he raises his right hand over Raikou's face, eyes burning brighter with purple.
Shinsu grins, lifting his glowing hand towards Raikou's neck. "This day I'll remember. How I wanted a wish that never became true" Shinsu thinks, launching his hand.
Until it stops.
Shinsu looks back, his grin turning into a gasp of joy. "I guess wishes do come true".
