Morning light spilled softly through the tall windows of the pack house, casting delicate streaks of gold across the polished floor, Today is supposed to be a bright, joyful, and fun filled with celebration for Daisy's eighteenth birthday, But i felt an inexplicable heaviness in my chest the moment I opened my eyes. Even so, I forced a determined smile onto my face, reminding myself that today was more about Daisy than anything else, because she deserved every drop of happiness we could pour into her after all the years of hardship, loneliness, and fear that had attempted to dim her spirit. She had survived too much darkness already, and I wanted her first birthday celebration to be a memory that would warm her heart for the rest of her life.
