Chapter 6 - Somehow Still Alive?

Life is short.... at this second, I sincerely realised the meaning of this idiom.

Suddenly, the system's prompt buzzed like a bee.

[First Supernatural Date Successful.]

[No.of Heartbeats=2, No. of Kisses=1]

[Overall Evaluation- D]

[Calculating Rewards...]

Damn, just a D? Not even a D+? The evaluation was a bit harsh but will it be enough?

My eyes were long blurry, and I knew if they closed now it meant game over for me.

[Reward issued- 25% Fallen Angel Bloodline.]

Within a minute, a strange warmth flowed through my heart.

The feeling was inexplicable, like throwing some charcoal into an almost extinguished flame.

I could feel it.

Although slow, the gaping wound on my chest was recovering bit by bit.

It took a full hour before I managed to speak again.

"Shit! Almost….almost went to the u-underworld there!"

I cursed at my plight.

At the same time, an unnatural hunger took over me.

Somehow, mustering the meagre strength left in my body, I slowly got up.

With my face already pale and energy at its lowest, I knew the situation was critical.

Without hesitation, I immediately called a cab.

There was no time to check the so-called system gains right now.

"Boy, did you get into some ugly fight?"

"It's better if you call an ambulance rather than a taxi, your situation does not look good."

The cab driver, who had just arrived, noticing my blood-stained clothes, spoke hesitantly.

Everyone is afraid of trouble, he was no different.

"Just take me to my house, I will pay you four times the fare."

My voice was hoarse, the roughness it contained was enough to shut down his growing curiosity.

The cab driver fell into a dilemma, a part of him wanted to run away, after all, my entire clothes were soaked in blood like I had committed some damn murder, but the greed of four times the fare finally pushed his courage.

"Fine, just don't die in my car."

With his affirmation, I hastily boarded the cab.

The hunger inside was getting more and more wild, my stomach was already making crazy sounds.

I had to admit, this 10-minute tedious ride back was the most taxing journey of my life.

"We have reached the address you provided."

"Now, get out fast! I don't want to get involved in any trouble."

The cab driver's words brought me back to reality.

Throwing the money towards him, I hurriedly rushed into my house.

"Hunger…."

"…..Food, I need fuckin f-food!"

With panting lips, I pulled open the refrigerator.

It was just a normal pull but the refrigerator door was mercilessly torn apart.

But my mind was too occupied to pay attention.

Fruits, vegetables, and some chicken meat, I gnawed everything raw.

Finally, when only some oranges were left in the refrigerator, I felt satiated.

"Thankfully, I had stocked at least three days' rations in advance."

After gaining back my rationality, I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Wait!"

"When that bitch Asuna stabbed me, I lost so much blood."

"It's better to eat more."

Opening a home delivery app, I instantly ordered some eggs, beans, pomegranate, red meat and all other shit I thought of that could replenish blood.

After I was done with online ordering, I decisively threw my bloody clothes away and took a clean bath.

It was only later when I changed into comfortable casual clothes and sat at the dining table that I started calmly reanalysing all the things that happened today.

"Probably, if I had refused to date Asuna, I would die on the spot."

"But even after spending such a nice evening together, the final favourability was almost nonexistent."

With a pen and paper, I started writing all the important points.

It was hard at first, but with a focused mind, I remembered many points.

"Firstly, the premise to start the system's date is to make a supernatural woman be willing."

"Here Asuna herself asked for a date, so this should count as her being willing."

"Secondly, the target date must have a minimum threshold of beauty, otherwise, the system message would have appeared much earlier."

"The entire morning, I had been greeting neighbouring housewives and even went to a supermarket to stock up on rations, but the female clerks there never triggered the system."

"And lastly, the final strategy reward is directly related to the target's background like that bitch Asuna was a fallen angel so I got her bloodline."

"There must be more secrets, but it is still too early to make assumptions."

Having figured much, I slowly fell into another contemplation.

It was only now that I remembered: I had torn apart the refrigerator's door with the slightest pull.

Standing up, I walked next to a wall adjacent to the stairs.

"Is it honestly what I think it is?"

Taking a deep breath, I hurled a punch towards the concrete wall.

Cracked~

A small hole, completely obliterating the outer layer of the wall was revealed.

Luckily, this little house was well sound-insulated or else the neighbours might have been alarmed by the commotion.

"Damn!"

Not believing, I went back to the kitchen and using a knife, made a small cut on my hand.

The wound automatically started healing slowly.

"So this is the power brought by 25% Fallen Angel Bloodline?"

"Amazing!"

Just when I was lost in the bliss brought by misfortune, my mobile phone rang.

After seeing an unknown number, I confusedly pressed the answer button.

"Hello?"

"Who is it?"

From the other end, an angry voice sounded.

"Is it Elandor?"

"Yeah?"

I still didn't realise the identity of the caller.

"Brat, it's me!"

"The shopkeeper you called in the morning saying you want this part-time job!"

"I told you to come by 5 o'clock and now it's 7.30 p.m.?"

"You shamelessly boasted that you have been working part-time jobs from 6 to 5 since you were 14 years old."

"Are you going to take a leave on your first day of work?"

"It's better to find someone else. Kids like you only know how to boast and play!"

The voice on the other side was loud enough.

"Don't worry Sir! Since it was my first day in the city, I got lost! I will be there in 10 minutes."

"Just treat it as a rookie mistake!"

After that, I readily hung up the phone and left for the part-time job I had applied for in the morning.

Money…..

The harshest thing that drives human society!

As an orphan in this world, perhaps, no one knew its importance better than me.

Now that I was alone in a foreign city full of supernatural beings, I needed it even more than ever.

"Damn, this grind never stops!"

"I really hate overtime."

With an exhausted body, I exclaimed as I left my house yet again.
