Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Eyon flipped through the other five books and they were all the same. The words 'Stop it', ' Turn back', ' Don't go', ' Sleep', was written on the pages in every direction. In sizes big and small, even mixing with both.

This was enough to struck fear into both policemen. The have been police for about ten years now and never had they ever seen such a case as this one. Their body trembled more on the inside than it did on the outside.

They drove back to the station making an inform of everything that took place. They were told they should return the bag, but both officers requested if another team could do it. This stunned everyone who heard. It was very unlike Eyon and Park to turn down a job.

The head officer asked why they couldn't do, and in response Eyon and Park swallowed their pride and explained why, they even showed them the books. This attracted the other officers in the station to the office as they all wanted to know what was going on.

The head officer simply said the boy was showing signs of a mental illness.

" Officer Kim," the head officer Bune called.

" Yes sir!" She answered pushing through the crowd to the front.

" You and your partner officer Mak will be working with Officer Eyon and Park on this case," Bune explained.

Officer Kim was doing cartwheels on the inside as Officer Eyon and Park were known officers and they almost never work with others. So at this moment she was seeing an opportunity for herself to climb higher.

" Can't you assign another team sir?" Eyon spoke up.

" I already got the warrant and everything. It wasn't easy, but because you too were the ones who suggested this first I pushed the matter. So you can't just walk away now. Also a teacher from the same school of the boy came by one and was concern for the boy," Bune said pulling out a paper.

" I asked if the boys behavior could be related to his mother passing. She was shocked hearing this news. She asked when did Solum mother die, and when I told her about two years ago she literally fell from the chair. When I helped her up she told me she saw Solum's mother two weeks before Solum's strange behaviors,"

" This case won't be simply and you two were the ones who discovered it so you need to continue with it. Besides you two always solve your cases so stop the nonsense," Bune added trying to cheer the two up since they were still looking uneasy.

" And look on the bright side Officer Kim family deals with that spirit, ghost speaking, casting type of stuff," Bune chuckled saying this and Kim got read from embarrassment. It was true though her parents had connections with the spirit realm, but she wasn't about to say this as the teasing might start again. After all in highschool it wasn't easy.

" I'm putting the smartest officers on the job, remember there is a boy who needs saving," Bune said putting pressure on the two.

" Yes sir," they answered but there was still reluctance in their voice.

They collected the paperwork needed and would head out tomorrow at 8 am.

The next morning the four of them entered the car and drove off heading to Solum's house. They listen to the radio as their wasn't much to say.

But Park made sure to tell the two to be very observant.

They finally stopped the car infront of Solum's house. Park and Eyon sighed heavily and tried putting their crazy thoughts to the side. This case was very serious, this boy didn't even look anything like his father. There were so many scenarios in Park and Eyon's head and they knew they were right.

None the less they were still timid to enter they house, but they couldn't afford their fear to cause someone's death.

The walked up to the door and knocked. They waited, no answer. On the second knock the door was open by a short figure.

" Good morning," Solum said sounding tired, opening the door to see the police.

" Good morning, Solum is it?" Eyon asked despite knowing.

" Yes sir," Solum answered. Eyon handed Solum the bag informing him they were told to return it and that they were also there to speak with his father.

They were told they would have to wait as he went out to by something. The officers asked to enter and Solum let them in. They sat in the sofa. The offered them coffee and out of manners they said yes.

Surprisingly Solum didn't serve them any. Instead he pointed to the kitchen for them to make it. Officer Mak told Solum that his way of treating guest was rude and he should serve them tea. Solum shivered under his words as he didn't was to get too close to the kitchen.

The officers found Mak words rude, but they got a reaction out of Solum, so maybe it was worth it. Officer Kim stood up offering to make make everyone coffee.

She walked to the kitchen and carefully pulled out five cups. She placed the cups on the counter and was suddenly drawn to stare at it. She stared at the counter feeling a strange energy.

Officer Kim slowly pushed her hand out running her fingers gently on the surface. Her finger tips tingled, but nothing happened for the second she was there.

She waited a few seconds more feeling the warmth building up through her fingers. Officer Kim abruptly pulled her hand back as she saw the bloody, dark scene of a woman spread out on this very counter. The scene disappeared in an instant as if it was a camera flash, but it was enough to jump backwards causing her heart to beat in a panic.

The others looked at her and she simply chuckled going back to making the coffees. Her fingers trembled while doing so.

After filling the five cups she brought them the little table that sat before the sofas. She handed took a step to were Solum sat alone quiet before them while drawing. She handed him the cup and he took it from her hands.

" Thank you," he said taking the cup. He a quick second to look at her and Kim looked back locking eyes for a second.

As she stared into Solum's eyes she wondered if this boy had a soul.
