Chapter 165 - Chapter 164: Where are the people who commit Carnage?

At this moment on the big screen, Lex Luthor, still with a flowing mane of hair, looked less like a businessman and more like a student.

Lex Luthor, also known as Alexander Luthor, from this name alone, you can see how great his ambition is.

In the lore, Luthor was once calculated by the super artificial intelligence Brainiac to possess a ninth-level intellect, making him one of the smartest brains on Earth.

LexCorp is also one of the companies on Earth with the most black technology, but Luthor, this guy, how should I put it?

If it weren't for Superman, he would probably have been content his whole life with using his brilliant mind to make money and seize power.

Instead of becoming a supervillain who constantly opposes Superman… Oh, one can't be so absolute, as his stance often fluctuates.

Now, just as depicted in all works, Luthor is still fixated on Superman.

However, this time, due to Dane's magic protection, he was unable to uncover Superman's true identity, and thus had no way to use Lois or Martha as leverage.

So Luthor chose to cooperate with official forces to jointly find a way to deal with the Justice League.

And what Dane was currently browsing were Lex Luthor's pre-set plans in his computer for dealing with all Justice League members.

Among them, the plans targeting Superman were more numerous than all other members combined, these plans were filled with his deep love for Superman~

Dane noticed that among the many plans, there was even a thought of controlling Shazam to use him to counterbalance Superman.

But when Luthor envisioned this plan, he found that dealing with Shazam was even harder than dealing with Superman, and he had to abandon this idea.

As the old General said, LexCorp did indeed design a genetic weapon, hoping to use it for targeted killing against metahumans.

However, unlike what the Admiral said, Luthor had vaguely realized that the difference between metahumans and humans was not due to different genetic information, but rather different expression patterns.

Most metahumans are actually genetically consistent with humans overall, so while this genetic weapon could kill metahumans, it could kill ordinary humans even more effectively.

So, he ultimately abandoned this weapon not because it was useless against metahumans, but because it was too useful—so useful that it would kill its wielder before the enemy.

It's unclear how this Admiral managed to create such a device, but it's evidently unsuitable as a weapon of mass destruction, as it possesses the same lethality against ordinary humans.

This Admiral is problematic!

Realizing this, Dane wasn't in a hurry to expose him. Since the Admiral was targeting all of humanity, his ambitions must be vast.

Dane wanted to uproot the mastermind behind the Admiral, to avoid leaving any lingering trouble from an unkilled snake... Meanwhile, after leaving CIA headquarters, the Admiral returned to his secret Base, where he met with a group of S.T.A.R. Labs members.

If anyone were present, they would be astonished that the Admiral was speaking a language not found on Earth.

Our plan succeeded; that Earthling will help us bring the genetic weapon into Atlantis.

Excellent. As long as that weapon can spread across the entire Planet, not even the Justice League will be able to escape.

From the tone of their conversation, it was clear they harbored deep apprehension towards the Justice League.

Be cautious, my compatriots. From what I know of them, the Justice League always appears very promptly; they must have monitoring methods unknown to us.

Are you not referring to satellites?

Far beyond that. Shazam of the Justice League is a magic god, a power unknown to our race.

If we could obtain that power, it would be even more beneficial for the development of our race... But Shazam's identity remains a mystery.

It doesn't matter. To obtain that power, we don't necessarily have to focus on Shazam.

Are you referring to Constantine or that female magic user, Zatanna?

Neither. Their movements are constantly and closely monitored by Shazam. Before the final moment arrives, we cannot expose ourselves to Shazam.

Then... there is only one remaining target: that Undersea Kingdom. According to human intelligence, it is likely a civilization that developed using magic energy, and it holds more value for us.

In that case... conquer it! Devour it! Ravage it!

At Checkmate, Amanda Waller quickly received a secret mission from General Lane.

Even as cold-hearted as she was, she was shocked by this plan.

The U.S. Military's retaliation was so swift and brutal; she felt a faint unease.

They didn't have enough understanding of that mysterious Undersea World. Was it truly appropriate to launch such a retaliatory action so rashly?

What if the operation failed?

Although they weren't acting in the Military's capacity, the other side wasn't foolish.

They had just left, and then their home was attacked. Whether it was them or not, the blame would surely fall on the United States.

But she had just regained power and couldn't refuse the mission, so she had to grit her teeth and accept it.

Such an undertaking certainly couldn't be done openly; it had to be carried out by an elite squad in a special operations mode.

Although Amanda was extremely reluctant to accept the mission, once she actually held it in her hands, she instinctively began to analyze and consider who to deploy.

Firstly, Shark King Nanaue definitely had to be brought along, but he couldn't act independently.

The last time he acted independently, he went berserk in the Water, slaughtering and devouring an entire Atlantis squad.

Amanda and the others waited a full 16 hours for him to regain his composure.

So, this operation absolutely required a qualified leader. But considering the unique nature of this mission... she needed someone with a more "flexible moral compass" to lead the squad. Deadshot and Bloodsport wouldn't do.

Amanda knew Deadshot had a principle of not killing children or women. The consequences of this operation could very well be genocide, and with his personality, he might betray them at the last minute.

Bloodsport himself had a child. Although he acted utterly impatient and disdainful towards her, Amanda knew he sent child support every month.

Even when he was in prison, that money continued to be deposited into his child's account through bank operations.

So Bloodsport was also out. Amanda's third choice was Ra's al Ghul, but this Head of the Demon had his own principles and beliefs, making him extremely difficult to persuade.

At least Amanda had tried for so many years without success, and she was also afraid that she might inadvertently be led by the nose by Ra's al Ghul.

As a millennia-old demon, his wisdom was not to be underestimated. Amanda was not naive enough to think a small bomb could make him subservient.

Just as she was deep in thought, a person's face surfaced in her mind.

Amanda immediately summoned her new assistant: "Emilia!"

At that moment, a capable blonde woman walked in. Her face was cold and beautiful, dressed in a women's suit, constantly exuding an aura that kept people at a distance.

This was Amelia Harcourt, a senior intelligence talent Amanda had poached from another department.

Amanda felt she resembled her younger self and was very fond of her.

"Amy, I remember seeing someone in your files, wearing a ridiculous silver helmet and a red costume..."

Harcourt immediately realized who she was referring to and replied:

"You must be referring to the man codenamed Peacemaker."

"Exactly, him!"

Amanda nodded: "I heard that, 0.4, he's currently imprisoned in Belle Reve prison due to a mental illness?"

Harcourt wasn't entirely sure why she was asking these questions, but she carried out her duties, answering every question.

"Yes, ma'am, he often says in prison that he is willing to give everything for the United States."

Amanda looked thoughtful, which made Harcourt's heart stir. She probed:

"Ma'am, do you need him for a mission?"

Amanda didn't answer, instead asking: "How credible do you find his words?"

This was an opportunity to prove herself!

Harcourt immediately said with a serious expression: "Based on my observation of him, he is the type of person who strongly identifies with the values of the United States.

He is an executioner who, if the United States required him to kill a baby, would do so without hesitation."

Amanda was noncommittal. She gently tapped the solid wood desk. A moment later, she made up her mind.

"Amy, you'll go on an errand later, go to the prison and bring that fellow out. Tell him..."

"The time has come for the United States to demand his loyalty!"
