Catherine's POV
"Why do you look like you were electrocuted in sleep?". Gerald asked in a cold tone after the man left. The affection he was showing earlier was nowhere in sight.
"Huh?"
"Did he just say that to my face?".
Noticing my unwavering gaze, he turned to me with a smirk.
"Still beautiful, just need to put things in order". He mumbled and reached over in an attempt to straighten my hair that I am now sure looks like a bird nest.
Our whole conversation since I walked here this morning had been weird. It's not like we are a real couple or anything and he just pretended like he didn't just kiss me on the lips.
I stood up to put some space between us and maybe return our sanity. I turned my face away from him and breathed in and out for a few seconds before turning towards him again to state why I had ran in here.
