Catherine's POV
Catherine, wait". He called as he hurried after me.
Maybe I should have listened to him because a scream tore out of my throat in the next few second
In a hurry to leave angrily, I stepped on the tip of my dress and almost fell over.
He held me back from falling and kissing the floor while everyone was watching.
That would have been the highlight of the night.
He turned me around to face him and his eyes narrowed at me. If we weren't out in public he might have cussed at my impulsiveness but he merely steadied me on my feet.
"If you are going to leave in anger, at least do it properly". He leaned close to whisper in my ear.
His warm breath sent a tingling on my skin.
"Mr Wells, can you tell us how you met McLane?" A reporter's loud voice yelled and several camera shutters flashed at us and his eyes went cold.
The news had travelled fast even though it happened less than ten minutes ago.
