Matt kept on walking with a smile on his face; before he knew it, he had reached his destination.
Standing before the door, he looked up and saw a massive panel with the words "Class D, Group F", imprinted on it.
He opened the door, and he stretched his head, peeking into the class.
When he looked, he was surprised to see all eyes on him; this made him embarrassed.
He forced a smile, entering the class. The whole class was still looking at him.
They numbered more than a hundred. Matt walked inside, finding an empty seat.
But he met trouble: two boys standing in front of him with an arrogant expression. A slim, tall, brown-haired young man and a fat, brown-haired young man.
"Is this not the toad that's lusting after the swan?" The tall one snorted.
News of Matt and Eira has spread among the students of the Requiem Academy; everyone knows about them and their talents.
Jealousy invaded most of the guys heads, angry at the fact that trash got such a chance, and now he had become their enemy.
Matt squinted his eyes; he could see the ill intent that they bore, which made him frown. It appears that he had underestimated the charm of Eira.
"May you excuse me?" Matt said in a deep voice.
"Oh, you want to pass. Hahaha, I wouldn't die of laughter." The fat one laughed, nearly bursting into tears.
"Bruh, you hear him? He said, 'Excuse me.'" His fat started jingling, causing the scene to look humorous.
Matt just looked at this scene in silence; he didn't waste his time walking.
The other students were watching this; they were expecting a great show.
When both of them saw that Matt was walking away, they blocked him, their expressions filled with disdain.
"If you want to pass, lick my feet," the fat one said condescendingly Anger surged in Matt's heart, his heart ablaze as he raised his right hand, folding it, giving the fat man a punch in the face.
This sent the fat man staggering, his face bruised, his face shocked. It wasn't only him; all other students were shocked too, as they didn't expect Matt to punch the fat boy without saying anything.
After Matt punched the fat man, his anger calmed down. "If you are looking for someone to bully, you are looking at the wrong person."He snorted, walking away. The tall one woke up from his shock; anger surged through him,
"Wait…." He roared, rushing towards Matt, turning to avenge his friend.
Matt turned back; he saw the incoming punch but didn't flinch. He raised his hand, catching the punch.
Waves of shock surged through everyone's heart; the tall one looked at this unbelievable scene.
Matt shook his head, releasing the tall boy, heading as he looked for a seat.
It was as if Matt's dad had known that there would be a time that they wouldn't be there for them, so he had taught.
Matt combat skills since he was three years old that he should use for self-protection and to protect his sister.
The fat man wiped blood from his lips, planning to avenge himself.
But the door of the classroom was opened, and a female teacher entered.
Immediately the female teacher entered, everywhere went quiet, and all students were in order as they sat down. Matt sat down at the last seat of the classroom, the highest row of the classroom. The classroom seats were arranged in descending order so that the students at the highest row would be able to see the teacher well.
Matt looked at the teacher; she was a young woman in her thirties, her face was stern, and her eyes were cold like night. Everyone felt an aura from her that made them dare not make noise.
She walked to the front of the classroom. "My name is Elizabeth Alexander," she said, her voice audible, heard clearly by every student.
"I will be your teacher from now on. Now before we start our lecture, can everyone begin to introduce themselves, starting from the front seat?" she said.
"Mash Trim." The first student stood up, introducing himself.
Everyone started introducing themselves until it got to Matt, who was the last person.
"Matt Garfield," he stood up and said.
The teacher nodded, then fell into thought, "Garfield, hmmm… Anyway, I am here to enlighten you guys on how we operate and control and activate your talent. For now, you guys can't bond with your requiem; you have to show your worthiness of it."
"You guys are all D-rank Awakeners; you can't compare yourselves with others, as your talents are trash. Hard work is what can make up for it, and if you want to use your life to play, it's none of anybody's business; it's your life, but remember, we are now in an era where the strong prey on the weak."Her words were brutal, honest, and true.
After she said this, she began to explain the talent and how requiem works and the classes that existed.
They all listened attentively; Matt was surprised by the broad knowledge he just absorbed. According to her, even awakening a low talent rank, your Requiem is another chance you have that can change your life and status.
There are some people who have low-rank talent but awakened powerful requiems. She began to give examples of historical figures that awakened powerful requiems with low talent.
When they heard this, they were shocked by this, never expecting such people to have such a background. In the lecture, the students got exposed to the history of how Requiem came to be.
"There are different ranks in Requiem Cultivation. The first level that begins your path is Requiem Novice, followed by Requiem Adept, Requiem Master, Requiem Grandmaster, Requiem Saint, and Requiem Emperor," Teacher Elizabeth explained to the students.
"In another lecture, we would go into detail about these ranks, but now let me teach you guys how to control your talent which is most important," she said. The lecture continues.
A/N: Please, all those that I didn't explain, check the former chapter; I had explained it already.
